  1. Especially when you are deep cranking. I love fighting fish when they are 20+ feet below you its an ADRENALINE RUSH!!!
  2. After fishing 90% of the time in deeper water i can tell you for a fact that you are going to get bigger fish on average then shallow water. I like to start in in shallow water in the morning and then work my way out. You said that you like to fish structure, so fish deep water structure the same way.
  3. This has been the best fishing years of my life. I am just been killing it with deep crankbaits, jigs, and frogs. Because of the heat we had an excessive amount of weeds growing up in about 0-10' so i have been forced to fish deeper, which has been a blessing. Already this year i have caught three 6lbers, previously i had only caught one.
  4. What lake was that? Nice fish BTW!
  5. I dont always throw soft stick baits, but when i do i prefer zoom trick worms.
  6. My favorite setup is a Curado e7 witha 7' MHF Fenwick HMG.
  7. Both....You just got to figure out what drop speed they want.
  8. I agree with everyone else that you should give it another shot. I'm switching lines from #8 hybrid but not because of the strength, in fact i was surprised when the strength of this line came into question.....Maybe try a palomar?
  9. What is the big fuss over a glass rod? Can you feel a difference in sensitivity?
  10. I totally agree with you that senkos flat out catch fish, but IMO it is ALOT more fun when i watch a fish using techniques such as deep cranks, frogs, spinnerbaits...
  11. That can be our secret :-X haha but seriously if they had more colors that they would replace my senkos
  12. Never......JK usually midday when other techniques arent working such as cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs...in no particular order.
  13. The longest they make the compre in is a 7' and if i went with Shimano it would be a cumara..
  14. I have been thinking about investing in a nice rod specifically for deep crankbaits (12+ ft). A few caught my attention, the Dobyns Randy McAbee 805 cranking rod, Lamiglas SR 765R, and the Powell 804CB...I am looking for a little longer rod so i can get those cranks out there far and also am looking for a sensitive, but powerful rod. What do you guys think of the rods i suggested? Any others i should check out? Thanks, VC
  15. I use it as a pitching bait and as a trailer and have had great success!
  16. Try using a Rebel pop-r or a Rapala skitter pop (shown below). They are very easy to use, inexpensive, and great on a calm morning. Rarely do i ever go with soft plastics in the morning, which might just be a confidence thing...Give one a try, but i'm warning you will get hooked on topwater!!
  17. Thanks pgersumky!
  18. x2 I only own a few poppers, spooks, buzzbaits, bc i feel like it would be a waste of money to buy multiple colors when they all are going to work if there's a fish around.
  19. Persuader Double Buzzer...preferably black.
  20. And so it begins...Try anything that has the brand name ZOOM on it, they all work! Trick worms, ole monsters, ultra-vibe, etc.
