  1. check out one of our sponsors, *.com for some amazing plastics at great prices. 25 trick sticks for the price some companies charge for 10. can't beat it. You don't have to spend alot to build up a good bass arsenal, a small variety of soft plastics, a spinnerbait or 2, a few crankbaits will get you by. I go out with a small tackle box that has everything I need to fish any conditions. Then you have the guys that go out with thousands worth of stuff, but majority of it never sees the water. For soft plastics, I am becoming more and more of a fan of the rage tail line. The smoking rooster, even though it came out late last year, is one of my new faves. Action is rediculous, and they're very durable.
  2. for those that can't see it, so far kvd has the big bag at 19.5 and I think the big fish of the day is 6 even or 6 and change. KVD had the 2nd biggest so far at 5
  3. weight in is live at espn 360
  4. hit the ice. I've pulled a few of my pb's through the ice.

good luck, and stick with it. I knew a guy that was doing this, he was in decent shape, and was on the floor vomiting during some of them... gets intense till you get used to it.
  6. If you have to use that much thumb to the point where it's ripping your finger up, maybe it's time to turn up the brakes a hair?
  7. x2. Catching or not, I enjoy being out on the boat. Bringing in some nice fish is a bonus. I fish a private lake, and the most boat "traffic" i've ever seen is about 3-4 other boats. It's a very calm, relaxing lake on top of a mountain.
  8. here's what "works" for me, and I say "works" very, very loosely... but it gets her on the boat more than she would otherwise come. I bought her a bag of pink senkos, and a bag of pink flukes. (She picked out the flukes) She likes the pink baits, so that definitely helps. Let her pick out her own fishing pole, my girl happened to like a 5" ul pole... ideal for bass fishing? Nope, but it's the one she likes, so she doesn't mind using it as much. If I gave her a 7' mh rod, she would use it about 2 casts. Next, I always make sure I take a pass by the swim docks when it's warm out, so we can take a dip in the lake. I also always ask her where she wants to go on the lake, so she doesn't feel like she's just sitting there in the boat. I find myself trolling alot too, so it's more like a "boat ride" around the lake vs. sitting somewhere and working cover for a long time. These things def. help, and while she's not waking me up on a saturday to go fishing, she certainly doesn't mind going out as much.
  9. you can look up almost any big company out there and find plenty of people that are not happy. such is life. but, that's about the lamest site i've ever seen.
  10. I keep plastics in ziploc bags, and have never had a problem. But, I don't mix baits, and don't mix colors. Like mentioned, if you mix colors, good chance you'll have some funky looking baits!
  11. well, the thicker the line, the less distance you will get. What kind of conditions are you fishing to use 30? I usually use 8 in my lakes on spinning gear with lighter baits, and 12 with casting gear and heavier baits. If you don't have a tremendous amount of cover, sharp rocks, snagups, etc, you can probably cut down on your line size quite a bit.
  12. I don't ever use a swivel, and don't see the need to. Only people I know that use a swivel are the ones that don't go out too often, and would rather have the ability to change baits quickly instead of re-tying.
  13. went out today, got about 10-12 bass, maybe 7 pickerel, and a bluegill. cabin fever is pretty lame
  14. who says you can't catch great fish through the ice? I got my pb pickerel and my first catfish a few weeks ago. I've been out on the water 1-2x a week since it froze, and have had nothing short of phenomenal fishing.
  15. When it's 75 and beautiful here in the summer, and 100+ down south, we say the same thing about you guys lol
  16. it's about as accurate as writing down "sunny" "rainy" "snow" "cold" "warm" on a piece of paper, and throwing a dart. I can stick my head out the door and be just as accurate as the weatherman lol
  17. here's some trivia, what episode is that from? It's sad that I can tell the episode based on what george is wearing, but it's my favorite show
  18. or you can go ice fishing and not have cabin fever lol
  19. that was wild! how cool would it be if you grabbed that bass!!
  20. I have one, but it was a musky... if anyone remembers, a few months back, I made a post asking why the heck this stupid fish would keep pecking my bait, but not biting... same spot, over, and over, and over. It was there for days, to the point that I knew EXACTLY where and when it would hit, and when it wouldn't. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. So the next day, casting around the same area, think to myself "d**n, stuck on a stump". Couldn't get it loose, so I started walking down the dock to get on the beach (should have been my first clue, not thinking that day) to get my bait back. Then all of a sudden my bait starts moving crazy fast towards the dock! I tried to reel in, but couldn't catch up since there was slack in the line from walking towards my bait, and the bait was coming right towards me. Finally caught up after running back to the dock and reeling like a maniac. Then it spit my bait, I cursed a lil, and reeled it in. Musky followed the bait right to the dock, did a 180, and took off. Never got it to hit after that. Didn't see it, the whirlpool it put out was pretty big though, and my lake has some big muskies. So who knows, could have been a huge one, could have been small. All I know is I was pulling and couldn't move it an inch. The reason why I said I had a clue was because I was fishing over a swimming beach with absolutely nothing to get snagged on... I kicked myself afterwards for not paying attention.
  21. maybe it's because i've never heard of tron, but I didn't find anything in that to be at all exciting... based on that trailer, i would never see the movie.
  22. I've never seen a single website where political discussions turn into anything other than a huge bashfest. doesn't belong on a fishing site, or any site where you're actually looking to have a community instead of just a bunch of people smack talking.
  23. I'd be happy to break 5 pounds this year, which I didn't last year.
  24. tbh, i had no idea who he was until I googled the name.
  25. did you guys see the drummer?? he looked like an orangutan on crack!! Only commercial I liked was the doritos with the slap, but that's been out for a while.
