i've been ice fishing 1-2 times a week, and catching some great fish. no cabin fever here! you guys should find a nice winter lake to go to. I was in lake george over the weekend, 2.5 inches of ice, we were the only idiots crazy enough to go out where we were. Group pulled in 3 great lakers, I didn't get any. was so d**n cold and windy though, we didn't stay very long. The wind was so crazy, if you spread out your hands and legs it would blow you around.

ONLY buy this house if you can afford to make any payments, repairs, and put in the time needed to maintain a house if/when the renters decide not to pay, or something needs to be done. Suppose you don't have a renter for a year, your water hear pops, and you have to make some repairs where you're living now... feasible? just something to think about.

I got nothing, believe it or not. I say that because I live on top of a mountain in a ski resort town, (ski slopes are DOWN the hill from me) and we normally get plastered... for one recent storm they said we'd get 1-3, got 9. then they said 2-4 we got 8. that's usually how it goes. this one completely missed us, and it looks like some of the snow that was on the lawn melted. couldn't believe it!

I would start out with heavier baits like texas rigged plastics, they will be easiest. Spinnerbaits are not the most aerodynamic, and will be tough at first. still worth the practice. I have a hard time throwing crankbaits under 1/2 ounce on a baitcaster still, but last year was my first year really using a baitcaster.

14 would be a state record, and I didn't break 5 pounds last year, so those #'s don't apply to me lol. I would be happy with either day though, as long as I'm catching something.

same here, and same thoughts! those 6's become 3's somehow from the time they're caught till they go on the scale lol. After a while of owning a scale, you can become much better at guessing a weight in person. but I don't pull the scale out unless I think it's over 3.

you shouldn't really move any fish back and forth like, if you have to move it, just move it forward. gills are designed to flow water one way...

some great choices here, I love shawshand redemption and good will hunting, both great movies. One of my faves is american history x. Most people can't look past the racism of the movie and cast it off because of that. I look at it more as a movie about someone who makes some extremely drastic changes in life, learns from his mistakes, pays the consequences of his actions, and as a result of what he's been through becomes a better person. (I'm in no way, shape or form racist, so please don't take it that way) I also love full metal jacket, I can watch that movie over and over. Space balls is also a big fave of mine, and I love all the star wars movies.

I have some hard to find, detailed maps showing the depth of the lake. I plan on just making a few copies, and keeping very specific notes this year about where I catch fish, where I don't, what I was using, etc. Haven't heard about these apps though.

If you didn't catch anything on nightcrwalers, there's either not any fish there, or you did something really wrong. Most likely there's no fish.

congrats on your pb!! If you don't have a scale (get one, they're cheap!!) take measurements at least.

if you do the math on how fast a plane files, vs. the frame rate of security cameras, you'll realize that this is a pretty silly statement. in terms of wing damage, who says a wing would have to make damage? they are not made to withstand impact. and with the security cameras, big deal. If something happens anywhere, the local security cameras are checked and taken as necesary.

I don't think we should judge other countries for what they do, simply because other parts of the world are not like ours. Regardless of any recession, crime, disease, etc, we still have the best life possible in the usa. Imagine living your life in a 9x8 room with a disabled wife and 2 kids, and one of your kids is stolen while you're out supporting your family. Many of the women in our lives have shoe closets bigger than what they live in. We may view this as weird, cruel, etc. He views it as the best possible option, because without the chain the kid would be stolen, like his daughter was. The kid is not chained up as a sign of neglect or disregard, he is chained up as a last resort so he's still around at the end of the day.

if the weather is "cold" lol you just need to take a different approach. try slowing down, and using more finesse tactics. a drop shot with a nice worm at the appropriate depth will entice the fish. remember that they don't want to move much when it gets cold, but they still need to eat. slow movements, so you don't spook the fish.

that's the point of the post... so people realize you can't tell from a picture. in these pics, the one that's almost 5 looks smaller than the one that was 2.

one is a hair under 5, one is 4.5, one is 4, one is 3, one is 2. Again, the point was not to brag about fish. Point was, it's impossible to guess weight from a picture without knowing the measurements of the fish.
