  1. yeah i don't own one yet. but soon enough i will gather a few. decided to get the more pricey ones out of the way first
  2. go to dicks and check out the field and stream rods. nice looking and right in your price range
  3. i like wacky worms in the summer, i also do pretty well with rattle traps throughout the summer. i like to use a bullet weight with a 7.5 inch worm too. i suggest scraping your weight before you use it so light reflects off of it.
  4. i catch NOTHING on red lures. doesn't matter what it is from worms to cranks.
  5. i need to get some. silent lures are the way to go these days. have you used the silent trap????
  6. i would buy the chatterbait kit again. i like any zman chatter. white mini's are ridiculous.
  7. spiderwire or berkley glasses. i will be upgrading to wiley x soon though.
  8. don't be afraid to throw a ten inch worm either, on 30 lb braid, it will cast it far enough, put a swivel on it for extra weight if you want.
  9. throw a mad maxx. i also really like a yum money minnow in the lillies.. throw it weighted and just work it through the pads. this is a great way to catch pike too
  10. i don't catch a heck of a whole lot with cranks but when i do its normally with these set ups. a blueish aruku shad, little john md or dd, xcalibur rattle or one knocker in the foxy shad, or chrome colors, a squarebill bomber A in sexy shad. i like 10# mono(berkley), or 12# pline flourclear on my 7' carbonlite med/mod action. dont be afraid to get yourself some braid and crash your cranks either(get xps cranks for this they dont run too much), also throw it with at least a 6'6 to 7' MH.
  11. great find hoopefully something good will come of it
  12. great fish. icast is a blast i bet. have a great time.
  13. 1 30lb power pro. 2 10lb pline flouroclear, 3 15lb pline flouroclear, or trilene flourocarbon
  14. i was fishing a neighborhood pond a month or two ago and talked with a guy who uses denali rods and they looked pretty good. i checked out their site and read reviews as well, eventually i will order one.
  15. give me a 3/8 oz booyah three blade, and a senko.
  16. rojas did well with those crazy lookin lures. i can't remember what tourney it was but he slammed them
  17. get a topo map. the closer the depth lines the steeper the grade. the farther apart they are the decline is less dramatic. the closer the intervals of depth the better, my maps show 5 ft intervals 3ft, 8,ft, 13 etc.... another good way to know where steep drops are is in the terrain around you, if the bank is part of a hill then chances are under the water it continues to drop rapidly. if the bank is relatively flat then the lake bottom probably is too
  18. i would have at least 5 rods with me. topwater (rapala walk), wacky worms(yum dinger or trigger x spadetails), shakey head(trigger x spadetail 1/8oz shakey jig), rattle trap (aruku shad, xcalibur), crankbait(bomber a squarebill or little john).
  19. trigger x spadetail worms, elaztech craws are nice too, like the ones from the chatterbait kit. strike king shakey heads.
  20. i wish you all the best. good luck friend hopefully you finish in the money... what are the buyins and payouts?
  21. sucks getting showed up by the one in the back lol better luck next time. he had some good fish though
