  5. carbonlite with whatever reel you choose, pflueger is a good way to go definitely
  6. you really should think about a longer rod, 6'6,7 somewhere around in there. reels ratio sounds good and slow. hell try it out and see what you think. if it feels comfortable to you than you're good to go
  7. great info.. if i may add the rod you use should be somewhere between 6'6 and 7'4 or so, whatever is more comfy to you. you're not planning on using the 12lb flouro with it are you????? you need some braid instead if you are.
  8. excellent i have a spro already and bandits 700's but i wasn't sure how either would do in heavy cover. good stuff i'll pick up a couple dd22' and another spro or two and go to town thanks guys
  9. good stuff excelent info. thanks p.s i wsn't saying my tip was 2 inches, i was saying i've had to replace my tips because of breakage or whatever other reason and i've lost height as a result of that. i've never replaced strictly the guide so i wasn't sure
  10. i have a 7'2 heavy action xfactor rod and i bent the crap out of the top guide. i wouldn't be too worried about it right now if the protective ring inside the guide didn't pop out leaving exposed metal, but it did so now i want to replace the guide asap. is it possible to replace it without losing any height??? i've replaced rod tips before but i've always lost about 2 inches.
  11. what are the best deep divers to use when you're looking to fish submerged cover????
  12. could be a zoom dead ringer as well.
  13. looks like a luck E strike worm to me. cheapo worms, work well though. get culprit zoom or rage tail, or xfactor, hell it doesn't matter get whatever worm from whoever and you'll catch fish.
  14. 4lbers are nothing, do yall see the hog in the third pic from the left. that's a fish lol. it was definitely one of our better days, one more bigun would've been nice and would've given us over a 10lb stringer for the day, but all in all I have no complaints
  15. may just have to make a run to bass pro on one of those days. Ike is the man
  16. GREAT DAY, BIG FISH AND GOOD EATIN', THAT'S A TRIFECTA. GOOD JOB
  17. so now VA owns two world record fish, that's good stuff. WORLD RECORD white bass was caught on lake orange
  18. i hear ya i was hoping the james would claim the record myself. either way it's still a great fishery for huge fish
  19. anything KVD is magic. dude is ridiculous and so are his lures. strike king benefits greatly from the name
  20. you can buy spares for the spares
  21. i would never drop crazy money on glasses when spiderwire and berkley glasses work great. and at 15 to 20 bucks they are a bargain.
  22. Skeet reuse did well during the classic with his pit boss. I have them and the spears not bad lures
  23. yum dinger purple, jitterbug, rattle trap (aruku shad or xcalibur)
