I'm down. A day trip, or a weekend hike? I'm down with either, wife permitting.. I just tried my fly rod our today to get a feel for it.. I need some practice.

With that said, I'm rooting for the Saints because if the Saitns win London Fletcher (Redskins LB) goes to the pro bowl and takes Johnathan Vilma's spot. I would check the RObinson river, Rose river and upper rapidan up that way. I've had little success on the lower Rapidan in Fredericksburg, but have heard the upper rapidan is where it's at. I've been wanting to make the trip with my fly rod, but havent yet.

The lure weight rating for that ML is comparable to other ML rods.. The only thing that doesnt look right is the line rating..... ?

Well.. I've never tied anything but my shoes and some knots. Got my wife a fly tying kit for christmas, and she didn't touch it. I thought I would try out some hair jigs for some smallies. Please, critque the hell outta these.. I cant seem to wrap them tight enough for the hairs to stay in, a moderate tug pulls strands out.
