how to sink brush tops
Raul posted something on this a few months back, using PVC pipe. It looked real simple. In the picture it looked like a 5 gallon bucket filled with concrete and ctuck 4-5' PVC pipe in it while still wet. Enough to make it look like a porcupine. But to answer your question, i have no experience with dunking trees.

Nissan Customer Service
Great customer service. Unexpected this day in age.. Well... with the econmy I bet we can see a rise in customer service to have customer retention. If it were American I'd look into one.

How to fix an annoying issue?
If it's what I think it is, it's the equivalent of spam. A few years ago at the fire department we were receiving many unsolicited advertising faxes on a daily basis. Exactly. My company would receive about 10-12 per day from these people, usually insurance companies or vacation getaways. My business is run through our fax (I know, it's outdated) and our customers send work via fax. So when we hear the fax machine go off, we usually run to the machine to send out a confirmation that it was receieved, and the work will be done on the days they specified. Huge P.I.T.A for the office ladies. Well, one day one of them called to confirm that we had been receiving their faxes, I confirmed by screaming at the guy on the phone saying he's wasting my companys hard earned money on toner and paper and he should expect a bill faxed over to him for all the paper and toner he had wasted. The faxes slowly went away, and now we hardly receive one per week. John, I'd imaging you would send out faxes to YOUR customers, which would hardly be spam as they would have a use for what you were sending, right?

braid help needed?
Aaron, I've got on 30 lb Power Pro on for my BC and 15 for my spinning. For the reason of saving some dough I use backing, Trilene Big Game I think it is, Wally world has it, But i could even go cheaper than that, I've never had a fish run with it long enough for the backing to show. Granted, my PB is 3 pounds, but.... that sucker didn't run. Good luck on your Samurai quest, grasshoppa.

Finesse spinning outfit recommendations
My finesse is my shakey head combo. A Shimano Spirex 200FE with a Falcon LowRider shakey head rod.. It's amazing. I highly recommend the rod, but I'd imaging there are a lot of reels that are comparable if not better than the Spirex. It is pretty cool though because it has the dual knob cranking handle like a BC reel.

anyone ever use this baitcaster?
Yea, if you're going to spend $170 on a reel i suggest you go outside of the BPS brand. A Revo STX is $199, and I'm sure the older ones are right around what you want to spend. I haven't had a Revo (yet) but I had a round reel and loved it.

where are people fishing in northern virginia my lakes frozen
First off, welcome. Secondly, I was at Curtis Lake down here in Stafford the past two days, not frozen. I went with my daughter yesterday and she got cold, so we only fished about 20 minutes, and I was only out for about 10 today and decided it was entirely too windy for a sane human being to e out there. Combine that with the spray from the BC... no way in hell. I'd try Bull Run up in Manassas, someone told me they had mild success over near the bridge on 28 right where Centreville and Manassas meet. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Advice on a new rod
I've got 6# Yo Zuri on my spinning. If you put a 12# co-poly on it, I'm sure it will be fine. But I agree with Wayne "wacky" P. Throw a MH/F rod into your arsenal and you're set. Look into some house brands, BPS, Ganders Guide Series (I have both, and love both) or a Cabelas house brand rod. You won't be dissappointed. Also, there has been a lot of hype about the new Abu Vendetta rods, and they are priced great. Good luck, and welcome to the site.

Baits To Put in My Bro's Tacklebox
That's all you need for some one his age. Actually, with all do respect I disagree. I find that a younger age kids want something to constantly do, a moving lure is probably your best bet. In-line spinners like Mepps or Rooster-tails WILL catch a variety of different spieces, but also try a bass spinner. Make sure you're near him while he's cranking that bad boy in, do you remember your first bass strike?

Ardent Reels
I have an Ardent and absolutley love it. Smooth, durable and simple. I dont need a color scheme on my reel, nor do I need it to be so shiny it doubles as a mirror. I am the second owner of my Ardent, and I don't think the previous guy took care of it all that well. Felt like there was sand or something inside causing a slight grinding noise. I took it apart (I know NOTHING about the construction of fishing reels) blew a couple times on the inside and put it back together and is perfect. I can tell its been dropped, boat rash to all hell and possibly put into an incinerator, and its perfect. And it was Bruce Sprinstein style "Born in the USA". Trevor, you can't go wrong with an Ardent.
