Fish it at night. The points and brush piles are great.

Lets just say that the jig thing did not happen, because if it did. that would make your buddy a bigger tool than the guy that cut you off. The point I am trying to make is, your buddy being a tool to a tool..... :-/....Shows that your partner has no respect either just like you said! Secondly, sign up for the next tourny. If you fish the "big water", come fish the little water and see how your Glommis/tackle measures up. :DRemember it's only 2,000 acres and we all are not paying the mortgage, that should put you in the top 5! Should'nt it? P.S. I fish all Kistlers! That means I should win! ;D

Ready to here the flip side of that coin and remember I am not trying to be a jerk. ;)First off I fish these tournies as a sub for two different teams. We/tourny anglers fish sometimes with a run and gun style, we have had locals/weekend fishermen cut us off a lot and accually had them throw the worm and bobber at our boat. Second, I doubt on Sunday that somebody threw a jig on someones deck. That would have been a subject well talked about at the weigh in and I heard nothing. Don't give someone a hard time by being childish yourself. It makes that point null and void! Third, it is getting time to see who is in the chase for the Classic and people are getting up tight. So excuse them for that. My parners and I try to give right of way to weekend warriors, but sometimes we just can't wait for people to work the spot........... Sorry, just fish them and you will understand.

Good day fishing at Lake Mercer
I have a really light Jon boat that I can lift and carry myself for a short distance. Here is the problem, trolling motor, batteries, depth finder and tackle to boot. I should have said I am building a dolly...Load it up and walk it to the water. Last time a carried a canoe, that sucked!

Good day fishing at Lake Mercer
Sorry, I was talking about now. Lipless cranks, dropshots and other cold water styles would have payed off better then. There is no secret to Mercer. People just get blinded by the only form of cover in the "stumps". Fish it from a boat! I am building a caddy for my Jon and will do it again soon.

Good day fishing at Lake Mercer
It looks like if your facing the water while standing on the dam, the spot looks to be on the left side of the lake. Right now a lipless crankbait would not be a good choice. C-rig would be the ticket.

Daiwa Viento - going the way of the Dodo Bird
I own one and like it just fine. I used it for pitchin' soft plastics. It would also match up great with a GLommis shakey head rod. There is nothing cheap about it, it is well built and will throw lighter baits.

Burke Lake 6/23
There are 4 spots the I fish at night, one is a brush pile and the rest are points with stumps.

Father's Day at Fountainhead

Burke Lake 6/23
We need to wait a couple of weeks and hit it at night. There are a few sweet spots that seem to give up larger than average fish at night. By the way, nice fish!

Maybe you could have kept that opinion to yourself. There is a group of us that like to talk openly. ;D

You'll see 40 ft at the dam. As for what works, read the post above.

When the bite is hot alot of things work well. I found pitching a spinnerbait (not used by a lot of anglers) into the edge of the weeds and pockets and twitching it fast from the weed edge back to the boat. The strike occurs 1-2 feet from the weed line. Stout rods and 15-20 lbs line is a must. When the shallow jig bite is hot, 3/8 jigs or Brush Hogs work well. I spray them both down with Jacks Juice to help them slip through the weeds better. C-rigs seem to pay off for some and deep water cranking in the heat of the summer.

I survived w/ Canoe on Stickmarsh!
