organizing plastics and spinnerbaits?
I use the tackle binders they have at BPS for plastics and for spinners. Comes with 10 or so zip lock bags with ring holes to fit into a binder with a velcro strap. I label the ziplock bags and such with color, type, and product # for re ordering. I then have a binder that I organizer the spinners into and label the same. Only downfall I've found with the binder is the velcro is to low to have a tight strap unless you have 20+ pages in the binder (binder can fit quite a few, and you can buy just the ziplock pages)

Experienced something new today....
Yeah they are definitely a problem and very bad for braid. Best suggestion I can give is throw on a leader.

Broke 2 Falcon rods yesterday...
You have to realize at academy, everybody and there granny is grabbing those rods bending them, shaking them around, hitting them on things and dropping them.. I can't tell you how many ive watched my dad break in that store. Little kids too. They can get pretty beat up in a store like that. Especially around children. You ain't kidding.... I've seen store clerks at Cabela's take a rod and bend it on the floor.I thought to myself "Man,that can't be good for their rods".I guess he was trying to show the stiffness/action to somebody.Didn't make any sense to me to be honest. I've seen them do the same thing at Gander Mountain and Dick's. A lot of the employee's there don't really care. I saw an employee at Gander Mountain mount a LH BC reel backwards with the eye pointing toward the cork because the lady said her husband wanted the retrieve on the right...

Dead beat partner!!!!!!!!
Wow that is garbage... whenever I go out as a rider (which is almost always unless I snag my fathers boat) I always pay for gas used on the lake *completely* as well as beer and food for the day... the fact that he had no bait is insane... that guy sounds like a dead beat around here by me who will invite me to go to dinner with him then ask me to pay once the check comes because he has no money with him... same guy is a 28 y/o no job, no car parents pay his appartment rent and he has no electricity because he didn't pay his bill all winter and they finally shut it off in spring (since they legally can't in winter)

Cardiac Arrest
Well I was out fishing last night, the usual spots with a friend of mine. He lives about an hour away and worked until 9pm so I picked him up and we got back up here, got food and got to the lake at about 11:15pm for some good night fishing and a few beers. Night started off with a bang, I bagged 4 smallies and he had 6 all between 15-18" within the first hour. I tossed on the new jitterbug to give it a shot, not to much happening there, he continued to catch a few more smallies (still using a husky jerk). I tossed out a tightline jig head with a leech into a little ledge probably 15-20 fow, seeing if there was any action from the eyes while I worked the jitterbug. Slowed down a bit on the bass, landed 3 nice 20+ inch eyes. Decided to take the jitterbug down after tryin it for about 2 hours (had never used it so was having fun learning the lure). About 5am this morning we both toss on some buzz baits, not more than 5-10 casts into the buzzbaits we both get monster bone jarring hits on the same cast. I lost mine at the boat was probably about 4.5lbs my buddy lands his weighing in at 6.2. They hit so d**n hard and at the same time I coulda sworn it shook the boat. We went on to catch a few more LM in the 2-3# range all on buzzers. I was using a chartreuse buzzbait and he was using chartreuse and white... guess that was the ticket. Was a great night. Wish I would have had pictures, got out to the lake and realized the camera was on the charger at home and not in the case. :-[ Will have some pics next time though for sure.

Fast vs Slow action
Check out the "Important" topics section of this thread (at the very top). There is an entire sticky thread on it. There are different rod sizes with different actions for different techniques. IE: Topwater/Spinners/Cranks Jigs Worms Specific sizes will vary from person to person preference wise but its usually fairly similar. Also spinning / BC reels are used with different set ups. Do some research there's a ton of info on this in the article archives. then I have 2 spinning set ups that just get tossed into the mix

Jitterbugs (Treble Size question)
the size 8 mustad trebles I got are the exact size of the rear trebles that came on it... coulda sworn I found them in the top water bass section, but could have been the bluegill section

Jitterbugs (Treble Size question)
Got some jitterbugs to try out tonight, liked what I heard from another thread. Got some Mustad size 8 treble hooks for replacement, some split rings also. The salesman at gander said Jitterbug was going out of production? I picked up about 8 of them for $3.25 a piece... Anyhow, after I clipped the hooks it looks like a size 6 treble in front.. Seeing as I have no size 6 treble hooks and just the pack of size 8 is it going to completely throw off the action to use an 8 in front and in back?

Bad for plastics? (Rage Tail)
Just got a shipment in from BPS and I'm organizing everything into my new plastics binders. I came across my rage tail toads, craws and space monkeys and notice they are laid out in a hard plastic casing (unlike my G Yama senko's have been in the past) This made me wonder, is there a reason for this extra packaging? Am I going to damage them at all by tossing them in a zip lock?

newbie bass question, proper lip grab.
Landing gloves and thumb guards are fine. I wear a landing glove when I fish for a few reasons. A) A good flop from a fish can send a treble hook into your hand. The species your fishing for is not always what you catch. Take my man card all day, I'd rather be comfortable.

This baitmonkey I keep hearing about...
- This baitmonkey I keep hearing about...
He lurks around and uses the plastic card with the big bass on it thats tucked in your wallet.- Spinner trailer
hm I did a search for spinnerbait trailer and spinner trailer on both searches I got nothing from results except a huge thread about a contest... Checked again when I saw your post and now I get different results with a few more threads that pop up... Sorry if this is a repeat... tricky internets!- Tow vehicle
I would say no... don't be the guy who gets stuck in the loading dock thats a little to steep. Dont be the guy who bends his uncarrage out either... seen both. I saw someone trying to pull a fiberglass boat probably 2500ish pounds out of the ramp with a 2 door ford escourt.... wasn't pretty.- Why don't the pros use them?
A seat belt is one thing... a jet harness with g suit is another- Spinner trailer
Did a search for this came up empty handed to my surprsie. Who uses a trailer on their spin bait? What is your favorite? I usually use a twistertail grub in white or a pork rind.- More Fat Boy Cranks
ooooh boy #2 and #5 would be killers here.- my boat
Not sure where he got his but you can get good marine carpet at BPS or Cabellas. I got mine at fleet farm.- lures for weed???
My father swears the moss boss. I had never heard of it until he pulled it out, but he's caught some lunkers on that thing.- Tru-Tungsten worm weight
Has anyone tried these? What is the difference between using these or a lead worm weight? Is the action different? I suppose these would be the way to go if your picky on colors.- berkley lightning rod shock
I prefer the AMP over the lightning rod but both are good.- Looking for some fishing friends in WI
Yeah I have no issues making a day trip out of it. Fishing solo has it's place, but it would be nice to meet some people with a common interest.- my boat
Outstanding, I'm thinking of doing a restoration myself. Truely a great example of how a little money and some hard work can make a boat from a junker to something very nice. - This baitmonkey I keep hearing about...
