  1. glad the spiders worked out for you! take any pics? darn sorry I sure didn't I don't usually take a camera with me when I am fishing alone. But I am gonna make it a point to do so. Them spiders worked awsome to btw
  2. Yep! Indianapolis is my home now. I love it, I can get to any fishing spot in the state in less than two hours now! Mostly though I fish pretty close to town. Nice alot of good places to fish down there. I was askin because up here ( more north hehe) there are a couple pretty good lakes that rent john boats 20.00 for all day. one lake is 1200 acers other is like 700ish I think
  3. Bass fishing was so slow this weekend. So I tryed the foam spiders with the clear float that some of the guys recomended. Wow did it work great I caught 10 or so in around an hour. Was great fun after a 4 hour grind of tryin to figure out where all the bass went : haha funniest part was listening to the guys a lil ways over form me complaining about live bait prices etc. I was catch as many as they was and my bait never came off the hook ;D
  4. What part of central indiana ya in Indy?
  5. Sweet! another indiana guy. Welcome to the board it is a really great place
  6. yea I hear ya there I am about 30 mile south of chicago and that is about as far south as I have ever gotten to fish. In may I am goin to Bama though to fish Gunnersville I can't wait!
  7. lol I guess it could be. I know my PB is just a 5lb 6oz fish, it was at A lil club tournament long time back. Now I am back fishing again it is fun to be able to weigh the ones that look big to me
  8. haha ok got ya didn't really realize that.
  9. hehe I must have missed that part >.<
  10. haha them lil guys are fearless
  11. This is pretty safe? I am not too familiar with a fishes anatomy and don"t wanna take a chance on hurtin them.
  12. that is defintly something to think about. I don;t really weigh them often only when I catch something I feel is good. Caught a 19 1/2 ich LMB last night ( pretty good for the lake I go to) and was tryin to figure how to weigh it with out hurting it. Do them bags take up much room?
  13. Ok my dad for some reason really wants a reel with 3.8:1 speed. He has me lookin for him so I thought I'd see if anyone can help me out here.
  14. Ok so I bought a digital scale to have. What I cannot figure out is the best way to weigh the fish with it. The scale has a largish hook on the end of it but it is blunt what is the best place to put it?
  15. haha it's sweet there seem to be so many ways to catch these lil guys. Also shows how great this site is because of all the responses to this thread I was unsure how much a response I would get. This is defintly a great site and comunity
  16. Ahhh.........My weak point. I have problems thinkin' the bass will detect the fact that hes just grabbed a hunk of rubber instead of froggy, especially in the open water situations when they don't have to sort the main course out from the salad. Is this a legit worry??? What can I do to prevent this??? I have been using Spro frogs most all summer and doing very well with them. Honestly I was very suprised how long the Bass will keep it in their mouth. Be patient you should have plenty of time.
  17. Sitting in a huge field of lilly pads throwin a frog is a blast.
  18. I used to fish in a club all of our tournaments were at night it was a lot of fun. Don't forget a small flashlight for tying lures.
  19. without a doubt I agree. I am just lookin for the lil lures cause they wont take up much room. I can take my ultra lite out and maybe fish for some pan fish for a couple hours after I bass fish a while. HAHA the fiancee is always askin me when I am gonna bring something home
  20. I noticed today my trolling motor battery is getting very hot at the positive terminal. Is this normal? The battery is a Wal Mart deep cycle and the trolling motor ia a Minn Kota Traxxis 55. The lake I fish at is trolling motors only and 1200 acres so I am using the motor a lot.
  21. haha that sounds like fun! and I already have the UL Spinning gear. does there seem to be a "best spider color?" I gotta try this out!
  22. yea for sure. I was just thinking of some lures to have handy if I felt like tryin to catch some bluegills while I was out bass fishing. I'll defintly take a looksie at them snap beans and pin minnows
  23. The lake I go to regularly to bass fish has a reputation for being an excellent bluegill lake. I was wondering what are some good lures for bluegill. The lake has very heavy cover also.
  24. I have thought about trying something like that. However I have noticed a lot of times when I catch fish with the Spro the body has compressed and exposed more of the hook. It seemed that essentially the body compresses turning and getting out of the way of the hook. If you try the caulk/gorilla glue trick can ya give some updates how it works out for ya?
