  1. For sure great help! from both you and Koopa. I am back fishing again after a little over 10 years away and am totally starting over. So much new stuff I know absolutly nothing about all help is greatly appreciated
  2. I was hoping that I would be able to do both with what finally descided on. I flip better than I pitch though ( I am learning to pitch still)
  3. I am trying to set myself up a descent flipping rig on a sort of budget. I am looking in the 100-150 dollar range. I have been lookin at the carrot stick, All star Big boy, and St Croix Mojo Bass. the local BPS only has the Carrot stick in stock. How are do the other 2 compare? Is there anyhting else I should look at in that price range?
  4. Thanks! I am gonna do that to some Jigs for this weekend. I am trying to learn how to fish with jigs better.
  5. The cover where I go most all the time is very heavy. Do you feel leaving them as is will make it harder to get the hook set?
  6. I was wondering if it is best to trim the weed gard on a jig or leave it as it comes in the package? I am sure this has been discussed before but I didn't have any much with the search engine.
  7. haha this is funny to see here today because when I went fishing today I did catch a fish on my first cast. Then went without for almost 2 hours( I was thinking can this first cast Jinx be true hehe) Fortunatly I managed to get another 10 or so in the boat. even caught the biggest one (for me) at this lake so far this year 3lb 7oz
  8. Thanks Dink for sure at the moment I am looking for versatility.
  9. Thanks guys for the help! I was really wanting to use Flourocarbon for both. Aye I think I will go with the 17lb the lake I fish the most has very heavy cover. If I went with 17lb probably XPS Flouro will I be good to cast 1/4 crankbaits? I plan on using a 7' Allstar GT40 MH rod with a REVO Winch or STX 6.4:1
  10. Is flourocarbon good for crankbaits and spinnerbaits? I am slowly gettin myself geared back up again after a long time away and I am trying to set myself up a descent rig for spinnerbaits and crankbaits (is this possible?) I am not sure what line would be best though
  11. haha yea when you set the hook you have to jerk the controller up and toward yourself :
  12. I rented it to try it out I didn't care for it so much. You have to twitch the controller up and down side to side (Like a Wii). I didn't play it much just wasn't what I was expecting I guess.
  13. you might be right I don't seem to need to drain my poppers as often but they are newer than my originals so I kinda was thinking it was that they just not as worn( or should I say broken in ;D) yet.
  14. I also prefer the popper but in very heavy cover I use the original Bronze Eye frog. It seems its pointy nose makes it easier to work it through. I have been catching a lot of fish on both. Yea I can walk the dog with the popper works good for me
  15. It seems it is safe to say that some people that fish will keep what they catch. I have felt that good management was what helped a lake most of all. Think I am too optimistic?
  16. Catching fish with a frog is just plain FUN! Lots of great advice here on what to use and how to use them for sure. My first time out I missed a lot of fish that got on cause I was trying to set the hook way to soon. I stuck with it and my last time out playing with my frogs I got 8 out of 10 in the boat.
  17. thanks all this is for sure a great resource for all kinds of great fishing information!
  18. Back to chasin Bass again after a 10 year break :-[ and havin a ball doin it to. Used to fish local club tournaments and stuff before I got all busy with life and stuff didnt know what I was missin
