  1. Unless you bounce it off some rocks, it's in no way hurting them. Go watch fish attempt climbing a fish ladder or a water fall at a dam. I've caught many bass with huge bite marks on them from pike. They didn't survive millions of years by being fragile. How did a bass get promoted to a god like status or sport fish? It's just a fish. I've had a few jump out of my hands and crash to the boat floor from 4' or more and they swim away just fine.
  2. It's very good. I keep a few.
  3. I think that's the perfect size boat. I had one like that and thought I needed a bigger one. The one I have now is a very nice boat but I sure wish I had my old one back. Bigger isn't always better.
  4. My 150 did that when new. The prop was loose. Tightening it up helped a lot. It still had some vibration and it didn't completely go away until I got some hours on it. Now it's very smooth. I think they set it up to run rich until the break in period. It was horrible on fuel consumption until the third tank.
  5. As a Tracker owner, I will say that statement is completely false. 3rd season on mine and very happy with it.
  6. When I had my bass boat it wasn't too bad. Now with an aluminum deep V I get blown around the lake like a sail boat.
  7. I see an older guy in my local lake usually in the same spot every time. He takes his limit of gills and perch of all sizes. If your guy stays in the same spot he's probably found a good gill area. I'm not c&r. I'll take a couple LM home for dinner. I only keep legal ones and I've brought home plenty that were 18" plus. I don't understand the c&r only thinking. Deer, turkey, small game, it's all sports. I like to fish for the fun, sport and a good meal. It doesn't get any better than that.
  8. I've fished all year with a 4" Senco and bobber. It doesn't seem to matter what color. I was on Muskegon lake two weeks before the Bass Masters tournament. I caught 6 nice small mouth in less than 3 hours. The 4 biggest would have placed very well in the tournament. When they were close to shore a few weeks ago on a small lake I like, I got 3 nice size LM on 3 casts under 3 different pontoon boats. The tournament guys laugh at me. One asked, are you catching bass on that? I was out catching him 4 to 1 with my spinning reel and bobber.
  9. I had an employee that didn't show up one day. When he came in the next day, I asked where he was. He said, I'm not going to lie to you. I started in and it was such a nice day, I decided to go fishing.%$#@%
  10. I thought it might be that they were able to see better and find the bait easier with some light. No science behind that, just a thought. Sometimes we over think things. Bob
  11. "FISHING" WITH A HAND GRENADE! Throw it, don't drop it - You dumb redneck!!!!!!
  12. Same here. 3# is a big fish, 5# is a monster. A couple weeks ago I was in the shallow weeds and caught 8 in less than an hour. The largest was 12". Bob
  13. I have complete respect and admiration for you guys. It's certainly not for everyone. After the second wave my stomach contents would be emptied. I know you look at it as just a job. That's not what we see from the outside looking in.
  14. You guys are nuts. Other than that, Im speachless.
  15. I can't get over that picture in your avatar. How in the crap do you stay in that thing? That looks worse than bull riding. What's the secret? Roll bars? Racing seats? Shoulder harness? Doesn't it hurt when you hit the water from that height? Crazy stuff. Bob
  16. I had that problem when I used a small battery charger that I would charge one battery at a time. I wasn't getting a full charge in them. I installed a 3 bank on board charger and now I can go all week end and still have battery left. Bob
  17. I will usually keep 2 or 3 and fry them as soon as I get home. I also keep them happy in my live well. A fish that's been dead for a few hours isn't very good and I don't think any kind of fish is good after it's been frozen. No fish in my freezer. In Michigan we have a 14" minimum to keep. That rules out keeping some of the smaller ones. Bob

I bought the Alabama rig last spring. After looking at it and thinking how much trouble it would be to use, it's still in the unopened package. It will probably get moved to the basement and put in the archives. Since I didn't have much luck fishing last weekend, the trolling sounds interesting. Bob
  19. I've had both fiberglass and aluminum. They both have their advantages. Unfortunatly I can't afford both. I have a deep v now, more room for the family, but I really miss my bass boat. Bob
  20. I caught a 5.5 lb LM 2' outside of the swim markers while kids were swimming and splashing less than 15' away.
  21. I agree. I think it's one of the best out there. But....I've never had the opportunity to try some from a not so good lake. Could be a major difference. Bob
  22. Last year, I saw a dead duck floating. I trolled over to it to see what happened. It had a treble hook from a small spoon in it's beak. One in the top and another in the bottom. He probably starved to death because of his inability to open his mouth.
  23. How do you know if you like it if you put "honey mustard drizzle" on it? If it's good you don't need to hide the flavor with seasoning. I eat Bass quite often. The inland lakes I fish are very clean and clear so that could be why they're so good. I also keep them happy in my live well until I get home. Can't get any fresher than that.
  24. I keep them happy in my live well. They're still kicking when they get prepared for the deep fryer.
