Any one using the Falcon FTO Tackle system?
Dan- Slide the spinnerbait between two of the uprights right where the skirt attaches to the body (right on the rubberband) and make sure the wire is facing up. Next just bend the wire down and snap it into one of the two groves on the top of the upright. Hope this helps

Where did Jon Boat come from
Nobody really knows where the term "Jon boat" originated. We do know the "Jon Boat" came out of the Ozark region. The boat was first crafted in the region for use of floating the many waterways. The first time "Jon Boat" was ever used in print was in 1919 and didn't really become a widely used term until the 1950's. Charley Barnes a turn of the century Ozark boat builder was credited with creating the name but in an interview with him he denies naming the boat and states that it's just what some people had called it. It is known that flat bottom boats of the time that were made with "Jack Pine" we're called "Jack Boats". Maybe "Jon Boat" is a distortion of this name? Guess the real answer is buried somewhere in Ozark history.

Feeling guilty.
Good bye to politics and religion. Hello to bass fishing!!!! It's a shame people take discussions on here so personal but its better to not have them at all if people are getting upset. I hope the rod and reel factions don't start fighting or we may have to shut down the fishing equipment forum. ;D ;D ;D

Man-made sweet spots
The essential oils in pine needles are a natural repellent for many insects and animals although I'm not sure of its affects on fish. I've always let the needles turn brown and shaken them off before I sink my trees just to prevent the amount of quickly decaying material I'm putting in the pond. The needles will just decay and eat up oxygen.

This thread should be titled "The Bait Monkey's Hit List"!!!! Nothing makes me happier to see pictures of excessive ammounts of tackle. It feels good to be around people who understand and share a common addiction. I feel right at home on this thread.

Solar Panels ?
They do produce larger solar panels that put out 7-10 amps but thier definitley more expensive. Your at about the same price of a generator and charger with these larger units. Generator might be the way to go in your case since you'll probably be charging at night. Solar is a opton but probably not as portable as a generator also.

walleye colors
Walley's eyes are very rod cell heavy. This allows them to have improved night vision but impares thier ability to distingush color. Contrast is the key in a walley's sight. Not only are thier eyes more in tune with contrast but they are more in tune with detecting motion.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
This thread has been on fire for the last few days it seems like we all need to get our butts back on the water. This has been a great topic and I've had a blast reading everyone's views. Doesn't it scare anybody that there has been so much suggestion of using nuclear weapons? While I don't believe that going to war with Iran is a necessity, the fact is war may be an inevitably. On the other hand use of our nuclear weapons has to be totally out of the question. To suggest something of this nature is ludicrous. I don't believe people grasp what today's nuclear weapons are all about. Unleashing a modern nuclear weapon would affect 100's of miles surrounding the target. Thee amount of collateral damage would be immeasurable and unacceptable. Not only would the use one of these weapons be seen as an atrocity by the worlds eyes but would set a precedent for use by other nuclear proficient countries. This is a box I hope I never see opened and would be a bleak day for all mankind if this scenario ever came to fruition. Take the nuke chanting down a notch and really think what you're asking our country to do.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
PRock, I do believe you have studied the Quran and read many books on this subject and may be versed on the writings of this religion but I believe you are falling into a trap like many others. You seem to me like you are going into these studies with preconceived notions of a militant Islam. I have friends who are Muslims and I have spoke at great lengths with them about their religion and its teachings. These are people who live the religion and whose families have been part of it for thousands of years. They have brought it to my attention that many of their teachings are commonly misquoted, misinterpreted and misused not only by others but by people of their own religion. A lot of the Quran is open to interpretation and in the last 1000 years it has been subtly changed from its original message. My friends assure me that Islam and the Quran have nothing to do with violence. The most recent being with the word "Jihad". This word and the Islamic teachings surrounding it have nothing to do with war or violence. There are many muslims that don't agree with what is being done in thier religions name and they are trying to get thier voices heard. Try finding a book, "The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslim's Call for Reform in Her Faith" by Irshad Manji, very intresting stuff. She also just had an interview with Larry King.
