  1. From my understanding they aren't the ones on the shelves. It will be last years models I believe. At least at the gurnee store. Again, this could be wrong but thats what I heard yesterday at work. I'm going in during my lunch hour and grabbing a couple johnny sigs and will take a peak at the terminators.
  2. i have had good luck with sexy shad type patterns in both clear and stained waters
  3. what kinda stuff are you guys adding to help you fish. I want the ascend brand because I can get it discounted. does everyone wear waders in the kayak? or what is standard apparel? Also would the 10' Ascend fishing be better?
  4. pressured waters, clear conditions, more subtle approach
  5. Who fishes from a kayak for bass? I am really thinking about getting one but don't want to break the bank. I am going to be buying from BPS and was thinking about getting the Ascend FS12T Sit On http://www.basspro.com/Ascend-FS12T-Sit-On-Top-Angler-Kayak/product/10213830/-1759668 It was pretty good reviews on the site, but does anyone have personal experience with this kayak? Also any general kayaking or kayak fishing advice would be much appreciated.
  6. I have several large jigs with paddletails and fish them like a swimjig (sometimes at high speed). I have had only moderate success with them. How do you guys normally fish them? Sorry to the OP. I Ddn't mean to take this thread off topic, but I figure asking these questions would benefit any muskie fisherman. have at it my man. any tips are appreciated.
  7. green pumpkin and watermelon red for baby brush hogs here in northern IL
  8. What knot do you guys use for attaching flouro to braid? For example... 30# Power Pro to 12# Flouro (BPS XPS)
  9. LOL, fish for musky much? They don't call it the "fish of 1,000 casts" for nothing. To the OP, check out www.spinnerbait.org. This guy has Shab dialed in. I wish it was a fish of 1,000 casts. I think the saying is, fish of 10,000 casts. Thats what I always thought it was.
  10. BAD IDEA for braid. Fine for everything else. Power pro explodes when I use a lighter on it. Last few times I did it, it exploded molten Moss Green all over my hands and wrists. I had little pin-point burns for a few days. However I always use a lighter for mono/fluoro. I have never had this happen. I use scissors to cut it down to a small tag end and then burn it to shrink it. with mono, flouro and most braids it will create it a little ball on the end making it harder to pull through
  11. most stores that have a decent selection of fishing stuff will probably have them.
  12. the bps PQ spinning can be had for 39.99 right now with reel trade in. amybe 44.99 I cant remember if its 5 or 10 bucks off for that price range.
  13. I can get the carbonlite for around $60. I think I'll pair the supreme xt on it. I would get the BPS combo for 40% off but they stopped giving that discount. So a supreme would be $125 with trade in, carbonlite for $60, and take $15 off for rewards points puts it at $170+tax. i was thinking 6'8 M for weightless t-rigs and drop shotting?
  14. I was going to get a stradic but you can't do shimanos at the reel trade in. Only thing reason that is keeping me from buying that one. But if I can get a stradic for $130 on ebay I would get that instead. any reviews of the patriarch.
  15. I want a new spinning reel but am having trouble deciding. The Revo Premier seems really nice but I don't know if I can justify spending that much... With the reel trade in at BPS I could get the reel for $210. Then can buy a Veritas for $85 and get a $25 mail in rebate through Abu Garcia. I have $15 in rewards points so I would be able to get the combo for $255 +tax. Thinking about it like that I am getting the rod for free... It is between the Premier, Pflueger Patriarch, or Pflueger Supreme XT. Help me make this choice!
  16. used em last season and stocked up a few months ago. Now everyone will think I jumped the bandwagon :-/
  17. Fox Chain is about fifteen minutes from my house and I have friends who have boats there. That could be a very option.
  18. I was a lot like you last season wanting to start throwing cranks more to open up my arsenal. I got some SK squarebills and now I have a box full. They are great. When you rip em through weeds hold on tight because that big bass will smash it.
  19. You can buy 3 Pro Qualifiers's at the classic for a little over $200 if you do the reel trade in. They are on sale for $80 a piece and you get $10 off each one when you trade in. They are awesome reels and come in 4 different gear ratios.
  20. my musky reel is a C4. I havent caught a musky on it but plenty of salmon. its a great reel
  21. I have heard the same thing. it really is a shame that a 50+ could go over and die :-/
  22. I have had a worm on an EWG sitting in the top section of an old tackle box in my garage for probably 2 years now. I just never took it out of there. Its completely rust free.
  23. I think i watched him doing something like that in one of the SK Pro Journal shows. He was ripping those square bills through weeds with wrist snaps and sharp pulls. I love those square bills though. glad i stocked up before he won with em ;D
  24. at the bps spring classic the dogwood canyon's are on sale for $30. there is also a reel you can get but i dont know anything about it
