  1. almost all the ponds I fish are a lot like the one you described. I love to throw texas rigs (7" BPS ribbontail watermelon red 3/0 gammy ewgs with no weight or any where from 1/8 oz to 1 oz) and horny toads. Your pond sounds a little more stained then mine so you might try some 1/2oz black and blue jigs. I will be using jigs more at my pond this year. I caught about 6 bass last year from one pond that were above 4 pounds. Also saw a big musky in there and an albino catfish multiple times. edit: another thing I like doing is just slowly working my weightless worm over the tops of the grass. You can get some cool topwater hits
  2. wolly buggers are always good. i have caught bass, crappie, bluegills, and trout on the same wolly bugger in one day. i like yellow and red.
  3. I'm also using jigs for the first time this year. I'm gonna try some beavers, BPS speed craws, and double tail grubs. are you guys using any different trailer on swim jigs? or no trailer at all?
  4. wow maybe im missing out.. I've only used the rapala ones and have caught tons of bass and pike on them. I got some xcaliburs and red eye shads to try this year. But I have never tried an original bill lewis rattletrap

  11. Its the insert they have. This problem is fixed for 2011 as there will be no insert. Was told we would have them in for Feb. but none in our store yet. Probably in a week or so.
  12. Mark Zona will be at the Gurnee (Chicago) store. I believe Pete Mania will be there also. Zona is a cool cat. We met him at SML last year. Too cool for school. 8-) Talked to him for a bit a couple weeks ago back in the break room when he was there for the boat show and he seemed cool.
  13. is it green with gold flakes? the bps sticko (senko) has a watermelon gold flake color. I'll take a pic and put it up in a bit.

  19. Flyers will be going out shortly for the Spring Fishing Classic. The Cabin Fever sale is going on until the classic starts and they know all the die hards are already planning to attend that. Should be some good sales as always and I am ready to be busy again. One night last week I had 5 customers all night...

  21. I really want to start fishing some tournaments this summer. Unfortunately I am a non boater. I was looking at doing the Big Bucks Bass Tournament Trail but would be open to anything else in the area. I am very easy to get along with and outgoing. And most importantly I love to bass fish! Here is some info on the BBB Tourneys http://bigbucksbass.com/index.html Shoot me a pm if you are interested.
  22. Okay sounds like a good reel. I had another Pflueger that served me well for a while so I think I will pick it up. It was between this and a Revo Winch on a crankin stick for $140. I think I will just get a pro qualifier for a rod i have now.
