in my experience, these sale special reels are junk. The one I got last year didnt make it through the season with out crapping out on me. Maybe this one will be different. I may buy my dad one since he wants to try a bc this year.

I have used P-line, Suffix, Fireline braid, and this year its Power Pro. Of the first 3 i liked fireline braid the best... maybe this year I will change that.

I got in an argument the other day with one of my friends about keeping trophy muskies. He said he would keep and mount a 50" when I said I would release and do a replica. I do not understand the point of keeping muskies. I would much rather eat other fish anyways

I don't expect you guys to share your biggest hot spots but I am going to try and land my first musky this year and Shabbona is going to be one of the lakes I'm going to try. I figured down by the dam would be a good spot in the summer. Are there some colors that are specifically good for this lake? Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I love the outdoor channel. Sportsman Channel and Outdoor channel are pretty much always on my tv. The worst part about O Channel is Gold Fever. That show sucks! and the half hour infomericials in the AM

Nothing personal, but these things get repeated over and over on forums like this as if it's gospel. In my experience, the managers at BPS are typically no more knowledgable than the teenage girls running the registers when discussing factory warranties and the reasons why the big companies do what they do. I had one tell me that the bad cork on a Shimano rod wasn't covered under warranty...even after Shimano told me to ship it back for replacement. : If you want to know the truth, don't ask the manager @ BPS, contact Shimano. I resent that fact. I am a cashier at BPS and feel like I know a great deal about the products in store and even more about fishing and hunting products. i pretty much use the ewg for all. is it bad to use the ewg with a smaller worm

I did a search to no avail. What is the best worm hook for texas rigging? Mostly 7" ribbontails. I love my gammy ewg but was wondering if the wide gap is even necessary? What do you guys think?

although the value of the reel you trade in has nothing to do with how much you get off, remember the reels are generally going to people who cannot afford the reels or to help get kids into fishing. if you trade in a POS that doesnt even work what good does that do to them and how would you feel? I'm going to buy a few new reels to give.

What is the advantage of using a LC to lets say a Strike King or Bomber? Talking cranks here. Are they actually worth the extra money and do they really catch $9 more worth of fish? I'm just a recreational fisherman right now but trying to get into some tourneys.

Does anyone know if you can use the reel trade in coupon on a combo, or only on a reel purchased separately? Just a reel. And I dont know if this effects you or not but I believe you can use the coupon on any reel except shimanos.

Vanish was the first flouro line I tried and I didn't use another one for a while after that. Worst line ever. I still have some that I will use for leaders occasionally.
