I can get a Pflueger Supreme XT reel on a BPS Carbonlite rod for $126 + tax. Is that a good reel and would that be a good drop shot combo? I have never fished drop shot before :-/

usually cast side arm or pitch. I will go overhead if i try to get some distance.

Yeah that game is fun but only helps for a little while. I'm going for all of the legendary fish right now. And I wish I could take a road trip to texas right now. In a few weeks I'm going down to Carbondale to visit the school and do some fishing down there.

see the same thing with bowhunters/archers. I will be at the range and this guy will come up with a brand new $1500 dollar rig and his groups will be all over the place.

I don't think you would notice him feathering it. Its just so natural for me that i couldnt tell you if i did it on the previous cast or not.

I did not really like the Verdict when I held it. The Veritas felt better to me... the extendable butt is a good concept but when it is all the way in it is uncomfortable

I love my weightless texas rigs from shore. Add some weight in windy conditions and deep water. Topwater poppers are good and so are spinnerbaits and rattletraps.

yeah thats what I generally use my bc's for. I am gradually getting more and more comfortable with them.

I did a search and couldn't find much on this. What are the advantages of a baitcast reel versus a spinning? I used spinning up until last year. I can cast my spinning more accurately. I still get backlash on my baitcasters especially since I fish from shore alot in tough casting situations. Why is it that the pros always use BC except when finesse fishing?

I like to fish the slop so I have braid on my rods. I don't think I would ever fish frogs in the pads without braided line..

The lake I usually fish has lots of weeds and lily pads so I'm pretty much forced to fish weedless baits. I am also almost always fishing from shore which limits my choices. I would say 90% of my fishing is done with soft plastics and the other 10% coming from spinnerbaits and rattletraps.

I like zoom alot also. I also like the strike king plastics and the cheap bass pro brand. So I guess I'm not a fanboy of one plastic company.

I have the same problem as you. I fish a weightless t-rig 90% of the time because its my biggest producer. I have never caught a bass on a crank bait period. I also fish from shore 99% of the time...
