Bass Pro Spring Classic Flyer?
Theres been several stores and online vendors doing 20 percent off on alot of stuff lately so hopefully BPS will have some better discounts. Too bad they dont carry alot of the cool japanese tackle. I wonder if they will have the new stradic ci4 on sale ? And what about the steez sha's. Would love to get a high speed steez for 20 percent off. Altho by the time I pay sales tax it might be a better idea to wait for TW to have 20 percent off since I wouldnt have to pay sales tax or shipping .

Polarized Sunglasses
Oakley has the best optics by far. The coast guard did an unbiased test a few years ago on a bunch of brands and oakley was by far the best. The best lenses imo are the "shallow blue" They are for what else, fishing shallow like us bass anglers fish. They work well for deep water too but its tough to see much in deep water to begin with. I wouldnt fish with anything else then my oakley monster dogs.

Are swimbaits a joke to throw in NOVA?
Dude I have a shimano teramar inshore series tc4 rod that will work great for punchin. Its a 7 foot medium heavy extra fast but the lure weight is rated up to 1 and a half ounces which is perfect. Its stout and not that heavy either. Its a hundred dollar rod I bought at bass pro last year. You can have it for 50 bux if u want it, its in perfect condition with not very much use. You could also throw small swimbaits with it too. Its actually designed for inshore salt fishing which usually involves big lures. I used it as a frog rod for a month or so after I bought it and then got a flippin stick to replace it.

Moving to West Virginia
Im pretty sure the potomac and new river flow thru west va with some real good smallmouth fishing. I also dont think that town is too far from northern va either so u could fish this area as well and all it has to offer. West Va is a beautiful place.

If youre gonna be fishing the potomac more so this year then spend the money on a nice setup for punchin mats instead. I bought a powell 766 for that purpose and plan on punchin/flippin alot of heavy matted stuff this summer. Most of the money that was won on the potomac last year was done so punchin mats, alot on frogs too but the majority of the 5-7 pounders were pullled out of the thick stuff punchin. I had a conversation with Teri Olinger who owns warbirds. Since he organizes alot of tourneys he should know where the money is being won. He told me to focus on punchin if I wanted the 5 plus pounders. Thats where I would put that swimbait money instead. Just my 2 cents.

new Anna trip???
Im thinkin bout february 21st which is a sunday. This isnt set in stone. I wanna check the weather mid week next week and see if there is snow coming. Also wanna make sure alot of this snow is melted. The area where we launch probably hasnt been plowed at all. Fish on the warm side start spawning late february and early march. So the bite should be good . I have alot of new toys I wanna try out down there too. If you're interested then post up or send me a message.

Virginia lakes
Hey Steve lemme know when you find out where youre headed. Texas guys are always welcome to fish with me on my boat esp ones with the same name as me ;D Oh and no one mentioned the Chickahominy river which is a great fishery. Im gonna be fishing it alot this spring and summer. If you end up in northern va then the potomac river is gonna be your best bet. It has been rated by some publications as the best river for bass in the country. Either way it's still top notch. Good luck

I wouldnt waste money on a swimbait specific setup if thats what ur askin. Seems like its more a west coast thing. I know they work in some places in va but its not gonna be one of ur most productive techniques. I'm sure what Dan says is true tho, u can def catch fish with them around here. You would def need the proper setup tho gear wise to effectively use a huge swimbait.

Progressive auto Ins
they are one of the worst if not the worst of all the big name insurance companies out there. Their rates suck and for a year a and a half they kept raising my rate every 6 months even tho I hadnt had a ticket in 5 years or so. They told me it was a state wide increase and everyone had to pay it. Now I use a broker and they find me the best rates out of dozens of companies. As for the boat, you get seperate insurance for the boat so that if it is wrecked during tow , its covered. Thats a no brainer. My policy for my 20 foot stratos was 300 bux for the year and covers every scenario including 5 grand in tackle loss if my rods are in the rod locker and my boat/trailer gets side swiped or if they just get stolen. I also have disabled boat towing in that policy too, not bad for 300 bux a year.

I had no problem finding eggs and milk but dam if all the hotdog buns were sold out. I mean seriously, what the heck! Snow is coming so lets buy out all the hot dog buns ? I bought the hot dogs anyways , I'll just have to eat them with regular bread. Such is life

Top current College BBall coaches
Coach K is good but not the greatest. He has had the luxury of gettin the best recruits always. Head coaches are NOT the ones who find the recruits either. They are found by the assisant coaches usually thru publications or word of mouth. I should know, my father used to put on the number one AAU tourneys in the country from the early 90's till a few years ago when the NCAA changed the rules and decided division one coaches shouldnt be alowed to attend these tourneys anymore. I remember guys like Chris Paul working for my dad back in the day before they were NBA stars. They would work at the tourneys to make some extra money before they were seniors which is when all the shoe companies started payin them to play. I remember Lebron James told my dad he wanted 50 grand to play at my dads big tournament at cole field house in MD. That was LJ's senior year and he had already decided to go pro so he wasnt gonna play AAU events unless he got paid, which was very illegal btw. He got away with it alot. Yes that's right Lebron was gettin paid alot in high school to attend events and play. My old man told lebron to go fly a kite haha. Take someone like Gary Williams from Maryland, the terps havent had a good recruit class in almost a decade yet they win 20+ games almost every year, never less then 19 games. They been to the sweet 16 a few times with average talent. They also won a national title with a very very undersized team. Being a good coach has alot to do with making the best with what you have. If you already have great players then it makes your job alot easier. I would put Gary williams up there as one of the top 10 college coaches in the last 20+ years.

Zappu Inchi Wacky Jig
not in deeper water. Thats where these things really shine

Zappu Inchi Wacky Jig
The first time I ever used one a few weeks ago I caught a 14 inch bass within my first few casts. It was a 4 inch senko with the 1/8 ounce head. I have some 1/16 coming now that I ordered from TW. I ordered with and without weed guards. Nice product but very expensive considering how easy they are to lose.
-
A Senko's Weight?
depends on the color. The clearer colors weigh about a gram a half less then the solid colors. The 5 inch senkos vary between 9-10 grams or so.

Current big bass champ still quanjig?

Current big bass champ still quanjig?
Hey when you fish 3 people on a boat and there is a female or someone less experienced/skilled involved, faces and body parts can see some possible hooksets. One must be very careful :-? I never said she was the best caster, just said she catches bass, and that she does almost every time we go out.

Current big bass champ still quanjig?
don't start gettin all bromantic on me now. Oh and yes there are a few chics who can catch bass around. My ole lady being one of 'em. She needs to start throwing somethin other then the senko tho. She caught several 4-5 pounders last year. And she was good for a citation yellow perch over in mattawoman a few months ago too
