  1. I agree with BASSclary totally. All the reels he mentioned will without a doubt do the trick. Go with a MH 7' rod for sure. This rod can be very versatile and used with most lures. You can pick up a BPS tourney series IM7 for $50. IMO its a good rod for the money starting out.
  2. My suggestion is a Duckett micro magic 7'3"mh. I absolutely love this rod. To me this is an all purpose rod and you can throw about anything on it. It is in the $160 range but has a 20 yr warranty. This rod is extremely light and the sensitivity is awesome. It is an investment but it would last you a long time if you really get bit by the bass bug!!
  3. Great thanks guys! Now I have a starting point as to what to buy. These things aren't cheap so I have to pick and choose carefully.
  4. Wow there are quite few colors to choose from. Is there a general color I should go with??
  5. I am thinking about purchasing a lc lure. Any suggestions as to which one I should buy??? What do you all like and why?
  6. Thanks everyone for replying. I am not sure what my local wally world carries but I know they will have some of the mentioned line. I appreciate any and all input.
  7. Can anyone suggest a good mono line that is sold at Walmart? I don't want to order any and BPS is too far away. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
  8. I appreciate all your responses! Thank you guys a lot! I knew I could get an answer from you! Roadwarrior when you say a MM baitcaster for treble hook lures, does that include cranks both lipless and billed as well as top water lures? Also are gear ratios important in these setups? If so what factor do they play?
  9. I am trying to figure out what the correct rod and reel setups are for different lures. I would like know what you guys use for spinnerbatis, plastics, topwater, etc. Do I need to go with a 6'6'' MH for spinnerbaits or do I need a longer rod? What about gear ratios?? I am so confused!! I just want to be using the correct setup (rod and reel) for what ever lure I am fishing. I am still trying to understand rod selection because I want to expand my rod and reel collection so that I am using the right combo for that particular lure. Also if I can use a particular setup for multiple lures that would be awesome! Am I making sense lol...?? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  10. I just had to read this thread! You gotta go you gotta go. Now when it comes to a conference meeting that might be difficult! ;D ;D

  12. Looks great but so do *** trick sticks!! Much cheaper that Senkos!
  13. Welcome! I also reside in Middle Tennessee. I live in the McMinnville area and have fished at Normandy and Tims.
  14. These things seek to amaze me! By the way dont by senkos buy some trick sticks from ***. Senkos dont last me more than 2 fish!
  15. Probably go with some Senkos
  16. So when you wacky rig a Senko how do you retrieve it? Any action needed to be made with the rod?
  17. I will definitely be purchasing from ***.
  18. I went to my local pond and used my 4" watermelon with black flake. I fished it Texas rigged and caught the 2 biggest fish out of there I have caught. They werent big ones but its the biggest out of there so far. The only negative thing I have to say about them is that it seems like the durability is not what I hoped it would be.
  19. Do either of you have a preference of 1 pc or the 2 pc XML's?
  20. Are these rods a good choice? I was looking at getting a spinning rod for fishing plastics. They have a great sale on the Cabelas site right now so I was thinking about picking one up. Any thoughts??
  21. Sorry I wish I could help you out with that. I am live in Middle Tennessee and about the only places I know of around here are local ponds and maybe some creeks to wade in.
  22. Inline spinner to try and catch whatever will hit it
  23. I am glad you can find stuff at your walmart. At our local wm the fishing dept is almost gone. They hardly carry anything anymore.
