  2. And I also picked up some chartreuse jj's magic!!
  3. I wear my sun glasses a lot. I couldn't imagine trying to fish without my polarized glasses. I see so much better with them.
  4. Well I pulled the trigger and bought 3 of the flip and swim and 3 of the black series jigs all in 1/2oz. I can't wait to get them in the water and give them a try! Thanks guys for the recommendations!!!
  5. I picked up a pack of black 3/16 mega strike 2 shakey heads along with some zoom trick worms. Looking forward to giving these things a try!
  6. Thanks guys! Like I said I have never fished a jig but I want to give it a try for sure. I know the Northstar Jigs look sick especially the new black series! Tell me this what is the difference in the two jig heads in the black series: the football head and I guess the "alien" head??
  7. Guys I have never fished a jig at all. I really want to learn and get some fish on a one. I read you all talking all the time about the Northstar Jigs and how much you guys like them. However, I need help on what to purchase... I figured id go with 1/2oz jigs but I am not sure which style jig to go with or what colors.... I would like a jig that is versitile and could be used in a number of different situations. Any suggestions???
  8. I appreciate the response guys! I have never fished a shakey head before but want to add this to my arsenal.
  9. I am going to pick up a pack of Megastrike Shake2 shakey head jigs. If I only buy one weight, which should I buy? Also thinking about going with the green pumpkin color jig head. Should I just pick up the black head or the green head?
  10. watermelon pepper green pumpkin/watermelon pepper Candy bug These go for about every plastic for me...
  11. I was fishing with a buddy of mine in a local river where he hooked a nice smallmouth. We were fishing an area that is widely known for musky. While reeling in his smallmouth a musky came up and bit his fish and lure! The musky came up a few times and would eventually go back to the bottom. Unfortunately his line snapped and he lost both fish and lure. Yeah this is a fish tale but I actually have this on video!! I couldn't believe it happened!
  12. I have the white abu garcia bag from dicks that I use on my outings. It holds everything that I need. I take it bank fishing and to the lake as well. I highly recommend it!
  13. I have an sx and absolutely love it! You won't be disappointed in my opinion!
  14. As most have already started, a Texas or wacky rigged senko is hard to beat. Watermelon with black flake is an excellent choice.
  15. A Texas or weightless watermelon with black flake senko.
  16. Wayne do you normally fish this on spinning equipment? Do you or could you use casing equipment?
  17. The hook I am using is a 1/0 gamagatsu octopus. I did notice that some of the fish were hooked deep like that one in Wayne P. pic. I guess I am not setting the hook quick enough.
  18. I was fishing with spinning gear using 8 lb mono. Is that too light of a lone to be using? My problem might have came from working the lure too fast. I would give the rod 3-4 small jerks up to about 11 o'clock then quickly try and reel out my slack in order to feel a fish. Sometimes the bite was difficult to distinguish. On several casts I would watch my line move after the lure hit the bottom, try and set the hook, but there was no fish. I guess sometimes bass just pick up the lure on the end and try to bite it??
  19. I threw a wacky rig for the first time today and was very successful. I did however get a lot of line twist. Is that normal? If not what did I do wrong?
  20. Duckett 's are awesome! I love my 7'3" mh casting rod. When I can afford another I will certainly purchase another. You picked a great rod!
  21. Duckett!! I absolutely love my micro magic. You won't be disappointed with the Duckett for sure.
  22. I have talked to a local shop owner and others and they can't justify the $50 more ( not sure exactly the $$ difference )for the white ice. If you like a rod with a cork handle these have a foam grip. I held a 7'3" mh casting in both rods and I couldn't tell a weight difference. I love my micro magic and would purchase another one without a doubt.
  23. I dont think there is a wrong way to use one. You will have to just play around and vary your presentation to what the fish want. Swarrin has am important point on hook setting. It's tough not to set the hook when you see a fish hit it but wait until you feel him then rip it!
  24. A-Jay that is one slick setup you have there. Well done!!
  25. I love senkos. Their action is awesome and they catch fish for me.
