I would like to say that I agree. 11 in a afternoon on crawlers. I think that the most you can get here in Sacramento on the Sacramento River is 4 species, & that's if your lucky.

Taken into mind that the condition of the water such as: temperature & color are factors into this. Something to remember is to match the color of whatever it is that you are using to the color of the water.

First off I would like to say THANK YOU GUYS for all the congrats, & the words off advice. Theres just a few things that I would like to address on the posts to this thread: 1. Yes Glenn, Thank You for the comment, to let you know she does know, at least you would hope...I was half way to work, got a message that said come home, & there standing in the drive way waiting was the wifey waiting patiently to tell me the news as I returned. 2. Fishing & the outdoors is going to always be a big part of his/her (I understand in about the 4th month we'll find out) life, as has been mine since I could remember. 3. I am relaxing into the idea of fatherhood a little more everyday. Its going to be a very exciting time, & a whole new experience. My father says from here on my life is changed forever. 4. I don't think that "bedroom play," is going to be a problem, (after the child) & at that am not going into anyway. If its great for those of you that are a couple then you know why. 5. Pampering is an understatement, I have been told that she needs to be treated like a queen, but without her taking control of things. Now that I have addressed a few things, & thanked you guys, I just want ya'll to know that I'll be keeping ya periodically updated about special points into this journey. I found out this morning that I am going to be a father...I am a little scared, but think that I will be fine. Boy or Girl, fishing, hunting & the great outdoors will be in there blood. :)

Everyone has there preference to what they include into there lifestyle. I myself prefer country, southern rock, & 80's metal. If the younger generation want to play power chords & heavy riffs so be it, just like its your choice not to listen. The fact is Rock N Roll was born from Blues & so was Jazz, Heavy Metal was born from Rock N Roll. The easiest way to learn all scale patterns is to take up Blues & Jazz. (Everything played now days has Blues & Country Origins) I have played the guitar for 15 years, in my studies it says no where that playing power chords isn't music, just a different way of playing a note. You playing music yourself should know that power chords all lead back to open chords & Barr chords in some relative manner. You of all people should know that Jazz itself has, & from time to time, is made up of simple power chords put together in a non-continuous pattern. In general take a look at Blues & the famous "King," BB King that is, & tell me that you cannot find simple power chords in the tablature or music notation. The fact is there are, & I can go on & on arguing your side & a heavy metal players side, but I think that I have made my point. This is a new generation as to which everything evolves, new fades are born & yesterdays cliche' may not be today's popular vote.

Its the love of the sport. The water, freedom, air, fish, good company, the fight, & everything that comes with doing something that you love & enjoy. I have yet to be skunked Bass fishing for the last couple years, in fact its the only game fish I guarantee that I catch on every outing. But sometimes not catching anything happens to me in the case of fishing for example Sturgeon. My father has a friend that has went 20 years trying to catch one of these fish & still hasn't, I have been lucky to catch 2 in my life & that's putting more hours then I can count into it. But I still do it, for hours I sit & wait, but when the fish is on, & the fight happens....lets just say that its the only freshwater fish that will give you the fight of a shark. Its an unbelievable experience for sure. That's why I fish. GOOD LUCKS TO YOU IN CATCHING THE "BIG KAHUNA."

In most sates it is illegal to take fish from one water & plant into another. I am pretty sure there is some type of law around your area that either has some sort of guideline, or plainly states its illegal to do so. I would check up on your states fishing regulations & laws before you proceed any further.
