Most Underated Technique or Tackle?
dunno why, but alot of people seem to only throw jerkbaits during early spring....It mimics baitfish better than just about any technique, but people seem to put them away for the year come spawn time.

starting to get serious what to get??
Need more info bro. Whats your price range and I assume by the baits mentioned you want a spinning rig? Josh

Rod Length and accuracy
agreed. I seem to release a lure just a little later when casting a shorter rod.

KVD line and lure on braided line
Haha yeah Ive been doing that with the spike it markers over the last 4' of line or so on the PP. It helps camo it and I figure if the fish smells my worm it before it sees it it cant hurt!

Taking it to the next level
In regards to fishing, I believe its whats inside a person that determines their level of sucess. I remember reading in bassmaster a while back, upon being asked individually what their favorite song was, three diffrent pros responded "how bad do you want it" by Tim mcgraw. These guys eat, sleep, and breath bass fishing. Thats what sets them apart. The sport has evolved and is more about knowledge (and sucessfully putting it to use) than skill these days in my opinion. Alot of our beloved 'good ol' boys of the sport have fallen behind the times and have been passed by more versitle, "informed" younger guys. Hot new Techniques and "secrets" are public knowledge almost instantly in some cases.

KVD line and lure on braided line
Are any of you using this on braid? Its really helped me to get the mono and flouro to behave itself on my spinning rigs, but I've never thought about it with braid.....just doesnt seem like it would make any diffrence???

rapala subwalk
guys thanks for the responses... Muddy I hadnt even thought about the blues and stripers, great idea! I fish a small private lake that the fish seem to love that xrap "shad" color ( dont know the name, but its the solid white one that looks amazing). I guess im just gonna have to give it a try and see what happens......

rapala subwalk
picked one of these up a year ago and have yet to put it thru its paces. my intentions were to use it as a coverage bait on the flats (looks like it will cast far, strongly resembles the spawning shad). I vaguely remeber hearing less than great reviews on it, and am curious if anyone has any experience with it? thanks josh

takin' a woman fishin....
haha yeah she's got a horseshoe in both pockets. She caught the first fish one evenin when I had her whole family over. I've got em all fishing worms and bobbers. Just after making a cast with a trigged senko she tells me they've picked her hook. So I put the rod down and go walkin down the bank to get a fresh worm. While waiting she picks up my revo/mojo combo and starts retrieving. Before long she yells " I gotta big one" and I'm honestly thinking its a 3 or 4lbr.....Then the head came outta the water. When I saw that, I sprinted as fast as I could to get back over there. It broke the line at the bank just as I got to her and I had to dive in to grab it. Second fish, she reads a book in the back of the boat for 2 hours. Getting bored she picks up my airrus/abu cardinal combo and catches that pig on the second cast. She did a remarkable job landing it, It literally jumped 2ft out of the water, ran under the boat 3 times and she brought her in on 6lb test. I've caught alot of big bass and have never seen a big one jump that high....

takin' a woman fishin....
Jimmy houston was right! you'll get outfished everytime. These were caught literally three casts apart on two seperate outings. The first fish was on a shakeyhead, the second a senko. I'm catchin some flack over this! lol ;D

Start-up musts for smallmouth fishing
bandit cranks in any "craw" color sammy (95?) in american shad rebel crawfish I've fished many diffrent plastics for smallies, but the OG mister twister phenom worms are tough 2 beat, not to mention durable and inexspensive Oh yeah Buzzbaits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont be fooled into thinkin u gotta fish the little 1/8oz models only. a 1lbr smally will blast a 1/2oz buzzer all day I like braided line on my rods that see river use.
