  1. Edit them together and present it as one episode. Common practice in fishing shows.
  2. The aero seat is a favorite of mine. Standard uplocking also works well.
  3. The nice thing about the MHX shooter blanks is that you get the short length without sacrificing any power by trimming. Whatever you choose needs to load well with your bait choices. If you're working with a builder doesn't he have recommendations?
  4. I'm not sure. I know of him from several online platforms and doing business. Even if he's not registered here he's an avid angler who suffered a tragedy.
  5. I just saw on Facebook that Clayton George has been severely injured in a work accident. Struck by a truck while operating a tow truck. If anyone has more info or is in contact with his family please pass along our well wishes. There's also a go fund me account
  6. High end rods are often intended for "feel" presentations like jigs and plastics hence the fast actions
  7. You need to have the origin tip that broke off. You're not going to be successful making a Frankenstein rod. If you have all the parts they can be successfully spliced but the material must be appropriate: low modulus and sanded thin enough to hold yet flex.
  8. I say all the time once you get north of $300 you should at least consider custom. Either way, I generally reserve the highest modulus blanks for finesse techniques, usually spinning tackle.
  9. I build a lot of both and concur with ww2 for the most part. I don't find the 4 to be a pool cue however it is powerful.
  10. To failed to clarify: I am still doing quotes and taking rod orders. thanks again
  11. Hi everyone, We're on the cusp of some exciting changes in our business and as a result I'm not able to take any reels for service at this time. Anything here or in transit will be handled with the care you've come to expect. I'm available for consultation and any assistance I can offer. I'm not going anywhere. More to follow Thanks! Mike
  12. How about the spacer on the other side under the spool bearing? Has to be one or the other. Give me a shout if you want.
  13. Line ratings on a freshwater rod are next to useless. Use even a modicum of common sense and you'll be fine.
  14. You're putting too much emphasis on spinning vs casting. Concentrate instead on matching baits of a particular weight with the right power rod. Whether you choose casting or spinning tackle is your preference.
  15. Sorry I meant that for the OP who used Med as an action.
  16. Seems that way to me. The gears aren't 1:1 so... All I've got is an opinion same as the other guy and not going to run anyone down. I just can't see this.
  17. You're mixing terms. Check out the rod characteristics article in the forum library
  18. Probably a prototype or old skeet revo
  19. This true of some oscillator gear sets but not all and not main/pinion gears. If you get oscillator gears out of sync you'll feel a tick or tight spot at the top or bottom of the stroke.
  20. The fervor for light weight has come at a cost: the nearly silent smooth operation of reels like the OG Zillion and D series Shimanos. There's nothing mechanically wrong with your reels but the over packed grease has been broken in and/or cleaned out allowing minor vibrations to be felt or heard. Deep cleaning and lubrication can minimize the symptoms but the over lubrication from the factory actually hurts performance.
  21. What you've described are not junk reels. Sounds like a mix of unrealistic expectations and either incomplete or inadequate maintenance practices. Granted, I have very limited background information if you'd like to email me I'll be happy to help all I can.
  22. Buy another guide and wrap it on the appropriate location.
  23. They're just a little different. Neither is any better built than the other.
