  1. Sounds like a clerical error to me as well, but the buyer has the responsibility to read what he is signing. If the buyer is within that three day window, they should be beating feet to the dealership. If it's beyond that time frame, I would still suggest going in and seeing if there is a way to resolve it. If that doesn't work, there are still more costly solutions involving attorneys!
  2. If you're looking for a place to travel to and want the chance to fish with other members, you have to look no further than the annual Road Trip! I've only been lucky enough to make one of them, but if I could swing it, I'd make it an annual thing. Lot's of great folks, new waters to explore, and new techniques to learn. I also seem to remember that a bunch of the members in New England had a "non-sanctioned" get together a couple of years ago. So you might want to research the chance of having such an event in your state next summer. Food for thought.
  3. Just go to Hawaii. Can I suggest staying on the island of Hiyawannalaya?
  4. There is a world of difference between needing a good boat and wanting one. The attached link is from the local university's bass fishing "Club". Most schools have organized sports for a few popular endeavors(read as money making) and the rest are made up as either intramural or club activities with limited financial support. http://fsufishingclub.weebly.com/ Scroll down to the pictures and you'll see the pre-takeoff picture showing every kind of boat from fiberglass rockets to a tin boat with a tiller motor. With all that said, there are two ways to get into the boat of your dreams. The first entails the parents to pillage their 401k to pay for it. The second way is to proof that you are the best d**n stick on campus, and your coach and teammates will be beating down your door to team up with you. Amazingly, the second approach is exactly what is needed to become a pro after school.
  5. Schooled up smallies on a topwater bite!
  6. In your opinion, what one thing trumps all the rest. In all the years I've been actively trying to learn how to become a better bass fisherman, I've been taught that it takes three trump cards. Same tired old story from In-Fisherman: Fish + Location + Location = Success! You have to consider many variables such as season, lake/pond/river type, and weather just to name a few which will all have an effect on those three trump cards. But if you really want to be stuck with one, just fish a Senko!
  7. I plan on buying one just as soon as I can get my Color-C-Lector, PH Meter, Cosmic Clock, and Horrible-Scope to all align. Then I just need to fly to the perfect spot using my GPS and onboard radar, see those pesky little fish on my down/side/360* imaging sonar, and I'll be ready to flip the switch to put all those fish into a feeding frenzy. I sure hope I don't backlash when that time finally comes!
  8. I fish because the fish pull me. I don't care if its a 8" bluegill on my ultra light, a 30lb king on a surf rod, or anything in between. It's all about the feeling of the fight.

    Already did the absentee thing.
  10. When it snows and blows I do not worry, Cause when winter comes I just don't give a hoot. I put on all the socks I can locate, And I wear two pairs of slacks beneath my suit. Scratch a little here, Dig a little there, A walking in my winter underwear!
  11. So are those the gator eggs in the foil on top?
  12. Not sure about the 621VS but I do believe that the 620VS comes with four pedestal seats and two more that flip up out of the small back deck. Perhaps the 621 has that as well. Only real problem I see is the need for a front deck long enough to lay down a 7' rod on.
  13. Lot's of opinions on this subject, so here's mine. If you want or think you need to improve accuracy, then nothing will beat practice casting/pitching/flipping in the back yard. My favorite approach to casting is a roll cast. Keeps your lure low all the way to the target, and with that practice I mentioned, you can feather that cast to the point where the lure makes little if any splash. Whatever type of practice you might do, place a small target out away from you at 10-15 feet to start with. Once you've gotten to the point where you can consistently hit that target, move it farther away. If you want to practice a soft landing, then fill that target with water and try not to spill any of it.
  14. Tom, I happy to hear that your Dad and the family didn't have to go through all of the stages of Alzheimer's/Dementia. I'm not sure if you meant to say "opinion" as compared to say "experience", but suffice it to say, you wouldn't want to be going through what we have been with my mother. Mom is in the final stages of life. Several months ago, her doctor advised that it was time for Hospice to come into the picture as she is having increasingly more medical issues. COPD, Dementia (most likely a side effect of the COPD), Low blood proteins, and a slew of other things that just seem to be piling up on her. Two weeks ago she suffered a fall in the house, and when we couldn't get in contact with her Hospice nurse, we had to take her into the local ER. She had a severe cut on her leg that needed attention. Little did I realize that the shock of that trip would send her into this final stage. I'm not really sure if I didn't make my first mistake in her care when we decided to keep her in her own home when Jackie and I moved in with her three years ago. At the time, she didn't want to leave her home, and I felt that she deserved to live her life where she had spent the previous 61 years. It wasn't like we couldn't afford to move her into either an assisted living or nursing home, it was just one choice to give back to someone who had given me so much. So, instead of her moving out, we moved in. It hasn't been easy and we've needed to hire in-home care for some things that a mother is never going to let a son do like showers, dressing, or toiletries. Even at this point, I still supposedly don't know that she is completely incontinent. One of the things I learned too late is that as the disease progresses, change becomes that much harder. Any little change seems to throw her into the next stage. In May of 2012 she caught pneumonia and was hospitalized. She suffered a full blown panic attack in the ICU and by the time we got her home, she lost the ability of recognizing time. Imagine Jackie's surprise when she would get home from work to be told that I would be home from school fairly soon. A year ago we had to get her a new bed, and that little change knocked out her knowledge of where she was living. The first snowfall of 2013 led her to comment that the snow never lasted very long. In Norfolk, Virginia where my parents lived during the Korean War! A semi-sick sense of humor got me to mention that we had saved a ton on airfare! This last episode has put her into the final stage of life. She has quit eating on her own and will only eat or drink small amounts when she is prodded into it. From my discussions with the doctor and the Hospice nurse, Mom probably isn't going to be with us by Thanksgiving. The only saving grace is that she somehow still knows who we all are. Like I said, experience has given me a different opinion.
  15. I seldom talk to myself. He thinks he knows everything, and he refused to let me take a day off to go fishing so many times over the years that I can hardly stand him!
  16. Yup, I can totally relate.
  17. Not that it matters, but this country is a Republic with a Democratically elected government. That is what is generically called a Democracy. What is important is what causes these children to decide that the best way to handle their problems is to take a gun into a school and start shooting. The news is already quoting this kids friends about how he was such a great kid. So popular that he was the homecoming prince. And then it pops up that he had been bullied, that his "Facebook" posts had changed just before this episode. And now everyone is shocked. Why shocked at what he did? The shock should be why these people saw the change and didn't try to do anything about it. Maybe some of the shock should be that this kid's parents were so unaware of what was going on in their child's life. When you take an active role in their lives, you never need to be reactive to what happens. Where did the handgun come from? The kid couldn't legally buy or own it. Is there any responsibility to be shared here by the owner of this pistol? We can sue a bartender for giving somebody one too many drinks. Do the families of the victims have the right to sue a person who gives access to these weapons to some kid?
  18. In this area the term Pond is usually reserved for manmade bodies of water. It doesn't matter if it is an acre in size dug in someone's backyard, a smallish backwater created for the running of some type of saanother sitell or gristmill, or if it is a large impoundment created by a hydroelectric dam. Ponds that were used for the operation of a mill usually has the village or city name tied to it, and hydroelectric ponds are named for the name of the dam. The term Lake is used for a naturally formed body of water, and again, size doesn't seem top matter. In Michigan lakes were named in two ways. If the word Lake comes first, then it was most likely discovered by the French. If the word Lake comes at the end of the name, it was a body of water discovered by the English/Americans.
  19. One simply needs to look at the lifestyles of "celebrities" many of today's youth look up to. When I was the age of this shooter, we listened to Motown. Now its Rap Artists shooting each other. Toss into the mix all of the other kids killing kids news stories that for some reason makes a lot of these misfits think they can become famous themselves just as soon as they can find a few loose weapons laying around. And speaking of that. How in the H E Double Hockey Sticks does a freshman in high school get his hands on a gun without his parents knowing about it? Like others have said, I was one of those guys that had a gun in the car during hunting season. But my parents knew it. And I earned my right to have that gun by showing responsibility. Before I could get ahold of it. Within the next day or so, we'll likely hear one parent or another say they didn't even know junior had any idea about guns. Even though he had every version of Grand Theft Auto!
  20. In the winter - Devils Lake ND for jumbo perch and walleyes galore. In the summer - Any stream dumping into James or Hudson Bay. A Fly-In trip for speckled trout, it can't get better than that!
  21. My life long fishing buddy Mike passed away a few years ago from ALS. I haven't found anyone to fill that gap since, and some of the guys I've fished with might think I'm nuts because I always retell fish stories beginning with "Mike and I used to....."
  22. To begin with, welcome to our little home off the water. Now that you've jumped aboard, do yourself and everyone else a favor by filling out your profile. It's much easier to help if people know what part of the country you are from. As an example, if you were from up in Michigan, I might ask if your lake suffered a winter kill a few years ago. A few other things to consider. Maybe others are over harvesting the fish from this lake. Is there VHS is your area? Have you talked with your local Fisheries Dept.? It sure sounds like something has changed, but hopefully those 13"-15" fish will gain a few more inches in the next year or so.
