Why Do You Fish

Featured Replies

Obviously we all love to fish. I think I love it because fish are interesting to me, and so are lures and the waters I fish. Fishing is like solving a puzzle: hard to figure out but it is rewarding. Its also a peaceful time and usually quality time between me and my dad.

So why do you love to fish?

Its a mix of having a way to experience the outdoors and solving the puzzle of bass fishing for me.

I can go out and get skunked and still say I enjoyed the day, but it helps to catch a hawg every now and again lol

X2....I love the "quiet" time away from work/civilization etc...but I also like the anticipation of knowing I'm going out this Sunday, rigging my rods with the baits I think I'll need, and then having to figure out the bite. The best feeling is leaving the lake knowing you figured out how to make them bite that day. Makes my hair stand on end just thinking about it...

This is another thing I love. I get so excited going through my tackle box before a trip.

I fish therefore I am......Cogito ergo sum.

I enjoy the quiet time, being outdoors, relaxing but I also enjoy compteting against others.

It's my God time.  It's my connection to my creator and nature.  I like bass fishing because of the challenge.  Plus there are a lot of cool lures to buy.

I fish for those days when the stars align, the bite is on, and I'm on cloud 9. I can forget about everything else in the world for a day and just focus on chasing those slimy critters that I love so dearly!

Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

I fish because I enjoy it.

When I say I fish 7 days a week both saltwater and freshwater that is no exaggeration.  I don't think I've missed 5 or 6 times this year, but today I'm not fishing.  It's nippy here in Florida so I'm taking wife out for breakfeast and watch football all day.

+1

I'll also add, for me, the older I get I get a big kick out of the time I have with my wife. The time together away from phones, TV'S, and "life" is very relaxing.

I love to hunt and since you can not see your prey fishing is the ultimate hunt!  ;)

I love the challenge and it helps keep me sane!

The voices tell me too, and since I have just decided to listen I do.  Plus it keeps me from laying on the couch and gets me out of the house when I'm not working.  It is my decompression time, takes my mind off of everything else and gives me piece and a time to be stress free.

Because I listen to the voices in my tacklebox.

The better question would be,Why Don't You Fish?

Because pocket pool gets old after awhile

Well, you know what they say...
