First fish on the NRX 854C
LOLOL now thats hella funny lmao... almost fell of the boat when I read that lmao.. I will tell you its in North east FL and fished very little because my grand pa has the only area of land that you can launch a boat and my and my dads Bass boats are the only ones to be in it! at those apts you see the peeps that live there arent allowed to fish it it has signs all around it over there no fishing or feeding gators allowed or your lease will be terminated!! So for the most part the lakes mine and my dads... I mean the only place that could be fished is the bank around the apts and the rest you is my grand pas land or heavily wooded so more less not fishable.... you could wade it i guess... as long as peeps C&R I wouldnt mind others fishing it. as long as they was my friends and didnt abuse the lake.. I run my Z-9 around it all the time picking up all the trash I see... I really try my best to keep the lake super clean.. one time I seen a dude catching bream at the bank by the apts I took a pic of him and gave it to the office and they told him if he got popped again he was gone... I know they did because he seen me out and ask me was it me that told on him I said yep... I said I wouldnt have told on you if you wasnt keeping them... hes the only person other then my dad that ive ever seen fishing it... I fish it 2 some times 3 times a week...I fish 4-5 days a week all day long some weeks I fish 7 days if I have a sat and sun tourney.. I fish this lake 2 times a week every week some times 3 and I fish other lakes 2 days a week some times 3 and I always pre-fish for one day before every tourney and I fish 3-4 tourneys a month. If you lived close I would take ya there.. as a matter of fact if anyone lives in Orange park/ Jacksonville FL and wants to go out Ill take ya there, rodman, lake gorge.. I got a 2009 Nitro Z-9 DC/250XS... all you have to do is meet me at the ramp or if you live on the way ill pick ya up...no gas money no nothing just show up and fish! if your female ill even buy ya dinner! Im not kidding about taking anyone out that wants to go.. I would love to put anyone that wants to go on fish as long as they are total Catch and release. Also 700-800 acre was a typo its about 400-450 acre's

Xpeditor vs. Warranty
I agree with you about cost... Loomis Said we will end up making more sales because of offering something like this...sure we will loose a little from the service but it will point a lot more customers to our line of rods because of the service. Im not saying a word about the cost increase really thats to be expected with anything... however limiting the rods when that was never something that came up and then all the sudden thats it one time deal... I wasnt saying that 100 dollars was making money by any means... and I know 100% at 50 bucks lots of money was being lost...like I said the 100 dollars isnt bad at all replacing a 400 dollar rod that you broke for 100 dollars is great... but all the people that bought loomis rods thought they wouldnt have a limit on the number of times they could use it/the discontinued part as well... anyone that thought the cost to use the service would never go up wasnt thinking of the company protecting its well being... you cant loose money in biz trust me I know as I work for my self and in sales of mainly JDM fishing related items and high end Radio control helicopters and planes.. I cant loose money on a daily basis or i wont last long.. I just think its really wrong of a Top notch customer service orientated company to throw such a HUGE change on its customers all at once.. I believe a lot of other companies like Dobyns will keep the 60 dollar no questions asked deal because the people yall loose because of this will go to a company that offers it...so I believe you will see more of the opposite then what Loomis did.

Xpeditor vs. Warranty
He just pointed out a unknown by me about the if its not being made anymore it cant be used with Xpeditor so that is another nail in the pine box that loomis sales will RIP in.... I cant believe that as a major company with MASSIVE buying power that can pull crazy low material cost by contract, that there cost per rod is over a 100 dollars... GLX, IMX ect... maybe with the NRX and the high resin cost maybe... I can however understand shipping cost eatting at it but im sure they have a much discounted rate via contract with UPS or Fedex with the massive amount of rods shipped... they dont pay even close to what we would. I do understand the price increase HOWEVER... what if I bought a new GLX on July 30th not having heard about the changes and I bought it thinking It was how it always was... lol I know thats what yo get for thinking... however tens and tens and tens (and a lot more tens lol) of 1000's of people bought rods prior to Aug 1st 2010 in big part to that service along.. I know I did when I fished a WHOLE LOT of GLX's 17 I believe was the number of GLX's I owned at one time.. and I bought them because of performance and Xpeditor service... I wouldnt have owned so many if it didnt have that service that was so stellar... Bantam1 Im not complaining at you.. in fact its nice to see you here and get the Info from someone that knows everything all the little details... I dont fish Loomis anymore, however im on the boat with 3 NRX's I bought just to see what they was all about and there stellar rods indeed... and may have a good chance at having a full time stay in my boat.. we will see about that tho... As for what Loomis is doing to its long time and very loyal customers is Bull if you have a rod that was bought prior to the change then you should have the same terms that you bought the rod having... If you bought the rod after the change then you knew about it and have to be happy with it... its just not right what they are doing and when major company's that was ultra legit turn sour it just makes one less of a very select few that are dropping like flies...pretty soon there wont be a good one left... its about that way now.. I hope Loomis really pays for doing this to its loyal fans... trust me the ONLY reason they sold me 3 NRX's is ONLY because I really wanted to see what it had to offer I will NEVER buy another Loomis anything... I already wouldnt but shimano lol Im a Daiwa fan... Anyhow thanks Bantam1 and have a great day pal... Hopefully see you again soon!

Review: Pinnacle Swimbait Rod 7'11"
The rod is very sensitive. IN MY HANDS (so no panties in a bunch), the rod felt as sensitive as my BCR 854 GLX while pitching a jig. No joke WOW lol I loved how you threw in there the IN MY HANDS you knew some jack@$$ was gonna say Sensitivity is relative lmao....I hate that when people do it because it is but it isnt... a sensitive rod is a sensitive rod plain and simple... Thats reallt saying something with it being as sensitive as that BCR 854 GLX... with the price of the rod and it having that much feel its gonna be a hot rod for sure... the rod is a very sensitive stick.... and they look sweet im glad you like it and now with you saying its that sensitive I will have to try one out for the hell of it.. Ill play with it for a while and probably give it to my nephew! And I take it with it being a swim bait rod its bigger and heavier then the BCR854? if thats the case and it still having that much feel is just flat impressive... hows the weight? hows the balance on that big stick?

mono?
I fish a lot of Sunline Shooter Defier Nylon Monofilament too, it really is my fav but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone because its 40 bucks a spool... its the most costly mono you can buy.. but it fishes like a 40 dollar a spool mono... its a very sensitive mono that has more stretch then high end FC's but not by much it allows rock solid hook sets even at the end of a long cast... and it is the most sensitive mono money can buy... its an amazing crank bait line... its hard to see under water too pretty close to FC.. it cost a lot but if you want the best here it is. http://www.***.com/Sunline_Shooter_Defier_Nylon_Monofilament/descpage-SLSD.html Ok enough posting and chatting for a while back to fishing ill talk at you fellas later.

First fish on the NRX 854C
playing with a 3/8oz spinner bait and mono testing sensitivity of the 854C and it wowed me I could feel the blades clacking as I killed the bait and let it fall/helicopter right before the line went totally slack... this rod is MEGA sensitive...I still stick to my guns about fishing more sensitive rods but not by much... you dont need a rod this sensitive it has more feel then 99.8% of rods out there and this is a heavy action rod... I felt the fish at the end of a VERY long cast with 17# Sunline Shooter Defier Nylon Monofilament the fish must have slapped at it because I felt a quick thump and the blades stop and chatter I killed it and BAM she hammered it bite detection was like lightning... I could feel the lure ticking the grass with ease even at the end of the cast with mono (Given its 40 dollar a spool top of the line mono that fishes much like FC but still has enough stretch that it effects feel as all mono does) hook set was rock solid the rod loaded up well and man handles this 2 3/4 to 3 pounder like she was a dink as expected for such a powerful rod.. I have caught 3 more on rage tail space monkeys with a 7/16th oz tungsten pegged sinker 4/0 Owner Wide gap plus hook on the 854C/PX68/20# Sunline shooter combo... one 3# fish and 2 a little over a pound I was pitching holes in heavy matted grass.. its what im going to be doing a lot today Once again bites are detected with ease you can feel strikes even on semi slack line.. you can feel the legs of the space monkeys moving like crazy when you pull the lure fast out of the hole... this is one of few rods I can say that are Sensitive enough to feel that the others are VERY high dollar JDM rods and the Steez Top gun... this thing with braid is gonna be silly sensitive... Its a lot more sensitive then the same model GLX.... It pitches really well and is a very accurate pitching rod that im very impressed with.. it feels very light in hand and very very crisp feeling... tip responds very well on hook set and while fighting/pulling fish out of nasty stuff. so far im happy I brought my Lappy and Wireless network card just so I could talk to you guys while im fishing the rods and let you all know how they preform... I still gotta fish the other two and then the GLX side by side for a fella I promised I would so I can really feel how much more sensitive it is... I will be fishing each rod 3 or so hours a piece today and using all different kinda lures... like lures the rods are meant to handle and ones they arent just to get a real feel what they can do and how they handle! Heres a pick of the girl! caught her in a creek arm on a 700-800 acre lake thats got some monsters in it... I believe ill catch a 7+ today and see how they handle good fish.. I know ill have plenty of 5# fish to play with..this lake is a pitching guys dream lake lol.... I will do some heavy punching mats today to with 1 1/4 to 1 1/2oz weights and punch skirt/4.20 beaver.

Netcraft Crankbaits
yeah not even close to LC or any other high end JDM lures... they are made cheaply but still fish ok.. I bought a big lot of them on Ebay a while back it was 57 baits and I won it for 113 and change.. for what I got it was a insane deal on fair quality lures that have fairly nice paint jobs and actions are not bad... the suspending stuff is a joke it doesnt suspend at all just has a slightly slower rise then the non suspending stuff... I dont care about that and if you did you could always weight them to do it or just buy LC and suspend perfectly.... All in All a good value on a decent lure... and at the deal I got them at! A insane value that I laugh when I get one hung up because I know it was only 2 bucks lol. when I loose a LC or Megabass bait I dont laugh at all...its more like F!@#!@# B@$$&%*( lmao. I know I know I dug this one up from its long time grave way back in the forum lmao.

BPS TOPNOCKER (discontinued but still awesome)
theres no doubt that heavier line is easier for them to see and with so many lures in front of them they may very well be very line shy.. smaller line harder to see could be the reason for more strikes for sure.. I know some deeper clear phosphate pits here in FL that have some very big bass in them and I have caught a lot of 7+ pounders out of them and a few 9's.... but if you arent fishing a light lb test FC you wont catch fish.. maybe a dink every now and then but not many fish and no good ones... my go to setups are my Pixy's, Pixillas and PX68's that are on lighter rods most M/XF rods and one ML/XF with Sunline Shooter and Seaguar Tatsu FC in 6-10# with small jigs/craw trailers, drop shots ect ect Point of this post is that YES line size can be a HUGE factor in the lakes im talking about if you arent fishing a high quality FC that is REALLY very close invisible under water in a light test you just wont catch fish... I out fished my dad one day 15 or better to one with him using braid with a 10 foot or so Mono leader... when he changed to a FC leader he started hooking up but I still out fished him 6-7 to one even with a FC leader because the braid thats 10-12 feet in front of the FC was still spooking them. it wasnt he was being back boated because he was in his Ranger and I was in my Z-9 fishing the same point with the same lures...only difference was line. Sorry for Typos Im Typing and Driving.

T-Rig worms help!
Could be, but everytime I go I see them crash the top atleast a handful of times within the 4 hours I am there. I have caught them on top water but when that dies off I try to setup the T-Rig worm. I assume lots of pressure at city park lakes makes it tougher but I have 0 confidence at any city park lake with a T-Rigged worm. I've heard downsizing to 4 inch senkos or worms might help, is this true? Side note, I've caught 1 bass on a T-rigged worm but that was just dumb luck and didn't feel a bite as I was untangling my birds nest ;D .. For T-Rig I use a Cumara 6'8 , I believe medium fast, the shimano pole designed for this type of rig. LOL Im typing this on my lap top at a red light on my way to the lake! ahh gotta love mobile broad band net work cards! Those bass have seen everything probably I would throw a smaller very real looking blue gill swim bait something they probably havent seen a lot and will replicate their normal food source closely. I would T-Rig Craws over worms and Lizards because everyone and there daddy throw T-Rigged worms and lizards and more then anything Senko's.... If it was me I would start out fishing any visible cover with a Small jig and craw trailer (Paca craw or Rage chunk) on FC lots of fisherman=spooky bass and FC will help with that... fishing all the cover well and from all different angles.. then parallel the bank line or grass line scooting and hopping the jig with short pauses here and there... I really believe the Swim bait idea will catch you fish more then a T-rig will because its something that looks real and they probably havent seen a lot of. the Jig and craw will to because its something that just catchs a lot of bass and big bass and I doubt they see them a lot... Jigs arent most peoples first or even tenth choice for pond fishing lol... most kids dont fish Jigs and all those kids will be hammering the bass with T-Rigged worms, Lizards and more then all Senkos like I already said.. another lure that you should hookup a good bit with is a smaller jerk bait like a Like a Lucky Craft Pointer 78SP or a little bigger 100SP or go tiny with a 65SP (Pointers are my FAV jerk baits) or if LC cost to much for ya X-rap (Its the small one that comes in only one size) and then the X-Rap Slash bait in XR08 or XR10 size... and I would use Silver, Gold, Olive, purple gold or Glass Ghost... Sounds to me like you are having more trouble catching fish at that pond then catching fish on a T-Rig thats why I wrote all this to give you some good ideas to stick fish.. Most ponds have bass if they have been there a while and water quality is good... Im willing to bet there is a fair population there. If you see Plenty of blue gills then there are bass in that pond. Catching pond fish can be super ease or very very hard... but once you get a feel for what they want catching them becomes a lot easier.. one more thing... Use you heavy T-rig or jig to find any drop offs or ledges that may be out in the deep water and some times right off shore in shallow water... if you find them you will find bass and with high water temps you will probably find a lot of them. When I pond fish and I cant put a small jon boat in it with a fish finder to see the bottom I do what I just said and go around the whole pond finding whats out there.. I know my 3 acre pond like the back of my hand...I have it totally filled with LM and some in the 8# range lots in the 5# tons in the 2-3# it AVG's 6-10 fish an hour and ive caught 39 one day in about 2 1/2 hours avg about 3lb's and the main reason I catch so many is number 1 they are there and number two I know what the bottom looks like and where all the structure is.. If you need anymore pond fishing advice PM me ill get with you.... Any typo's im sorry im typing on handed and not looking at the screen I dont want to die lol... BTW it took me 10 mins to write this I really hope you get some use and ideas from it for all my hard work LOLOLOL. Have fun bro and good luck.

Jig questions.
Black angel jigs are very good jigs I really like them and have caught tons and tons of fish on them.. the skirts and paint on the head last forever and the weed guard does its job keeps it pretty weedless and allows easy hookups. for the price they are stellar because they are top grade jigs and come two to a pack for 6.50 to 7.50 Dirty jigs is my fav jig.. I believe it has the best flaring skirt of any jig ive seen.. I know my jigs I fish jigs (Pitching and flipping, Casting and swimming) probably 65% of all my time on the water. pitching is my fav way to catch em... I Love pitching to holes in Heavy cover.. I just plain love to Jig fish.. The Gman Jig is Stellar as well but still believe the Dirty Jigs are the best and I catch most of my fish on them (But I fish them the most to) I have 300-400 jigs probably or all different brands and customs So I have used most and know all the good ones well. All jigs will catch fish its just the subtle differences in them that make them or break them and the main difference is how the skirt flares..

cortland masterbraid , welcome to the best braid ....
wow priced very well to! Dont go by pound test to judge line Dia.. what Daiwa calls 8# Dia might not be what they call 8# Dia. Daiwa is crazy thin and the only braid I will use however I will try this it looks good. If its thinner then Daiwa then its just to thin to handle abrasion well... Thats Daiwas only down fall its not the most abrasion resistant braid there is and thats because its so thin and if this is thinner with will have that same problem and even worse.

Time to fish the NRX's

The Barbs on Hooks
this is 100% correct. well wrote pal.
-
The Barbs on Hooks
I agree barb or barbless if you keep it tight you wont loose many fish... however If you have a barb you will loose less fish...Saying a barb is just to hold bait is silly... The barbs there to help keep fish pinned... Ask any pro would they fish an event with barbless hooks?? and you will get only no no no no no ect ect.. I fish barbless when practicing to aid in quick C&R and barb on when moneys on the hook... helps keep it pinned better.

Using my Buzz Frog rod for Jigs?
Is flouro really that dense that it would actually pull a retreived bait down? if you are reeling fast enough to make the legs flop FC wont pull it under water... I have fished poppers (Pond fishing and only bring one rod) with a rod rigged with FC and it was fine so long as I didnt pause more then 2-3 secs between my pop pop pop...

Med-Fast Tip or Fast Tip for Pitching rod?

Baitcasting Rod under $160
thats good to know. BTW............what is a non-Compile-X Steez rod? Steex Complie-X rods have 90-99% carbon content as where the normal SVF rods have 81-86% carbon content (higher Carbon content more Sensitivity and lighter weight)

Need some advice

anybody have any negative feedback on Kistler mag TS rods?
Kistler makes a fine rod, I love my Zbone LE I had them build for me.. I have one Kistler mag TS that I got for 70 bucks from a buddy that didnt want it...its a 7foot MH/F I have fished it 2-3 times and it surly wasnt a bad rod at all and seemed to be a nice value at the 150 price they normally go for and a steal at 70.

Need a Decent Swimbait Rod
d**n TW rocks that was hella cool of them!
-
topwater rod suggestions needed
Yup he hit the nail on the head! also if funds are a problem buying a top water plug rod you can skimp because you dont need it to be sensitive you just need it to have a nice soft tip to keep the fish buttoned up.. Bottom contact lure rods are the ones that you have to invest big bucks in because thats were sensitivity is at a premium and sensitivity costs...
-
mono?
yeah lol a lot of people dont know it gets that high.. JDM=Japanese domestic market, USDM=United states domestic market. JDM means its a overseas only product and it cost more and high shipping fees that I have to pay because I have to have it lmao.

Mini review of the NRX
Yeah for real man.. but hey its what is popular right now so thats what they did... ohwell when I get board with them I will have my builder strip the handles and grips and then Ill put what I want on it lol
