my cross country season in review
Im not sure if awesome was a way to describe the olympic trials. Ryan Shay was a cool guy. Ive meet him before, and got an autographed picture of him. Anyways, i have two school records to get this year in track, and im doing everything i can to make sure that happens. Ill be researching for the best over winter training program, and i plan on doing indoor track. Ive got to run a 1:57 1/2 mile, my best is 2:00, and a 4:17 1 mile, my best is a 4:32. Its definatley possible.

my cross country season in review
Well i ran some good times this year. Heres an overview of my top 5 times. Btw, these are all 5k times, which is about 3 1/8th miles 5-16:56 4-16:45 (1st at county meet) 3-16:40 2-16:35 1-16:29 (2nd at regionals) State was a major let-down this year. I was sick going into it, and had an inconvenient asthma attack about 1 1/2-2 miles into the race, where i was sitting at 28th, which is all-state, and i ended up finishing about 60th, which is a downstep from last years top 40 finish with a 16:35. I ran a 16:56 this year. About a minute off of what i was hoping for. Ive still have track which i plan on making all state in the mile and half mile

braid comparison
if im using 8 lb braid on a baitcaster, what kind of problems do you think ill have with the line digging into the spool?

braid comparison
Right now i have a setup that ive been pleased with. 6lb yo zuri hybrid on my spinning rod, and 10lb hybrid on the casting rod. Ive been content with it, but ive been looking to switch to braided line again. I used to use it religiously, but then i spooled up with vanish, which i didnt like, then berkley sensation, which was great, and finally hybrid, which was also a very good line. Im looking to respool the casting reel with 10lb braided line, preferably power pro, but do you guys have any other suggestions, possibly suffix? And i was thinking about trying either 5lb power pro or 6lb fireline with the spinning rod. I have never used fireline, and am hoping to hear some info on it, i understand its not a regular braided line, is that right?

Re: Any MI guys still fishing?
I caught a bass that was 22 inches, going anywhere from 6 1/2 to 7lbs the other day. It was from black lake, which is in berrien county. Pic in my avatar

new pb!!!
These pics turned out terrible!!! It looks like a 3 lb fish. I was dissapointed by the results. But in all honesty, it was up to 7lbs with accordance to the weight calculator

Favorite bait to fish and most productive bait....
In overall productivity, i find myself always siding with a tube of a variety of colors, rigged with an 1/8th oz. insider head. But i enjoy the buzzbait the most, since my last 3 pb's have come off of it.

new pb!!!
I just entered in the length and girth on the weight calculator, it came up to 7lbs! Thats great since my pb has been 5 1/2 for a while now

measuring the fish
I was figuring that you would go with the flat surface. I was wondering because this bass i just caught was 22" on the flat surface, and 24" on the curve of the fish

new pb!!!
pics should be up in a day or two. Have had trouble finding time to develop the film.

measuring the fish
When you measure a fish, do you go by the length you get if you put the tape from its tail, all the way over to its mouth, or do you place the fish on a flat surface and go by the length that you get measuring on a flat surface?

MegaStrike Evolution Jigs?
The stand up theory is no joke. I was flipping and pitching one of these into a downed tree. I noticed when it landed on the branches, even on the thin ones, it stayed on the branch and stood up. The weedgaurd nearly disapears in the water. These jigs are awesome all around

salmonoids, anyone?
Anybody catching any kings, coho, or steelies? Anywhere?

new pb!!!
i forgot to mention this, but catching that fish fulfilled my goal for this year. My goal was to catch a 5 1/2 lb bass out of a public lake. All of my 5+lb fish have come out of the same 5 acre farm pond.

new pb!!!
Well i havent been fishing in probably over a month. We just put a new deck in my aluminum 12' boat, and i had to try it out. I still need to get a bow mount motor for it and it will be perfect. This made my trip a lot more enjoyable. Although i couldnt control the boat, since my dad was on the back with our transom mount, presenting my lures and the overall comfort was drastically increased. To top it off, i actually caught a fish on the 30 acre "no fish lake". Ive never caught a limit on this lake, and ive never caught a fish over 1lb. Well to my surprised, i hooked into a giant. A new pb to be exact. This fish proved that i need a new scale. It was 23inches, extreamly well-rounded, and an overall pig. Id say 6.5+lbs. The scale said 2lbs. Ill have pictures up in a few days when i get the film developed. It errupted on a cavitron buzzbait. And i really mean that it exploded on it. A strong fight, and it even took a run under the boat. I was shaking like crazy when i got it in.

pier fishing for kings
Its lots of fun whenever we go, because we will be tossing cranks and swimbaits, and we'll catch fish, or at least have some on, while everybody that has 5 rods out with different types of cured spawn wont even have a bite

Toads
Buzzing a bullribbit on top got me a new pb today!

OMG, NEW PB!
infidel- i actually tried really hard to gain weight, its impossible!! I ate like a pig and lifted every day. I got up to 140lbs, but shrank back down to 132 after track season. I didnt get big, but i got my bench press up to 195lbs, which is totally necessary for hoisting monster fish like this.

OMG, NEW PB!
Well i did weight it and was wondering what results i would get. It was an ounce shy of 7lbs. But the head on this thing was unbelievable, i thought it was 8 or better for sure when i saw its mouth surface. I could fit both of my hands in its mouth. If it had a full belly with eggs, im sure it would be an 8lber. Lets wait and see what spring has in store..
