  1. give purpledecent a try
  2. I was walleye fishing on lake kabetogama. We were in a 16' plain aluminum boat with bench seats, and a 20 hp motor in a sea of 20' lunds nice and sparkly with 200 hp motors. I guessed that we ticked them off catching two 6 lb walleyes right in front of them. We didnt have an anchor, and every time we had a bite or hooked a fish, we would drift off of our spot. One of those boats would cut in and start fishing where we were. We simply moved around them, and eventually had another one. And sure enough, another boat moved in. Every time we made it apparent that we were annoyed with their lack in manners, and eventually took off as fast as we could right next to them, leaving a nice wake and complete disturbance. Nobody liked us for that, but it was okay, we already caught all of the fish.
  3. An avacado colored tube. The 3.5 inch venom one to be exact
  4. I am completley aware that i fight a fish kinda weird. But it must work, i lose very few fish i get a hook into, and have very few jump on me. What i do is set the hook to the side, and i keep the rod fairly low and to the side for most of the fight. I dont move my rod much, and keep it fairly low the entire time. If they jump, there isnt much you can do, i guess.
  5. Had to deal with this problem myself. Try to fish a 1/8 or 1/16 oz. jig, with either a crawtube or 3x craw trailer to slow it down even more. Its very light and shouldnt sink in the bottom. This is what worked for me. Oh, also try jerkbaits like husky jerks, pointers, smithwicks, etc.
  6. I think that you have just about talked me into a completley different system. Thinking about something with two 10's and maybe a 12 depending on my budget. My car is wired to hook up multiple amps. Would that be necessary? And finally, what amp would you recommend (brand/make) to power a system like that? I am looking into either audiobahn or alpine 10's, and i like the pyle 12". Hows that sound?
  7. aaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!! Its killing me with walleye season being closed until late april. At least i was able to get a 10+lb fish before the season ended. Nice fish, where they from?
  8. Hey, lets get a move on! We have to start these things back up. I know that not everybody can go fishing, either to ice (if your way up north) or closed season, but im sure a mass majority can hit the water and have fun. Here in michigan, the season is closed, and since there is a designated catch and release season, bass fishing is pretty much off limits. But i am still fishing since i have access to a friends 5+ acre private pond. So when is this starting back up?
  9. 6+lbs. (no weight/measurements) baby bass colored tiki stick
  10. AAAAAAAAA!!! I hate buzzfrogs. I was stoked with the first bag i bought, until i tried them on the water. Their action is terrible! It just looks like your dragging anything on the surface, no real characteristic action, and they are very touchy on how fast you retrieve them. I gave those away without a thought about it. Try zoom horny toads and uncle josh bull ribbits. These are some killer baits.
  11. wow! I am really surprised to see storm, cotton cordell, and strike king in the listing so much. I like strike king's diamond shads, jigs, plastics, topwaters, and spinnerbaits. In fact, i like all of their baits excluding a few cranks. Cotton cordell makes the wiggle o, a great smallie bait for me, walleye divers and grappler shads are also essential in my tackle box. Storm makes the wiggle wart and the chug bug, so they get props for that. Sure thier plastics are rediculous. I also like their thundersticks. Now a company i DONT like is renagade, which is basically wal-mart brand. And i would not miss berkley if they went out of buisiness either. Never used their plastics, and just dont like thier hardbaits.
  12. I would like to get 12 or 15's to hit the bass notes and really bump. I already have 4 6x9's so i got the tweeners covered. So its db's that matter. Ive got to check that out. What is in a reasonable price range that really bumps and plays well?
  13. if anybody else says that they did not like this movie, i will fight them to the death. Well, not really but it was a really cool movie with moderate historical accuracy, but of course they stretched the truth, its a movie. In the actual battle of thermopale, there was 300 vs 250,000. Not 300 vs 1,000,000. Also there were a few other mistakes, but overall it was a great movie, hella tight.
  14. I am looking for the best all around sounding subwoofers. I want a 12-15 inch with around 2000+ watts of power each. I also dont want to spend too much. Id like something that operates around 1000 watts. Also, im looking for something that has bass to rattle your roof, yet plays rock songs well. Does such a speaker exist?
  15. people (usually women, but not always) that just DONT GET IT!!! You say something as clear as day and they say..... "what?? that makes no sense" example- ME: "I dont support PETA" DUMMY: "what? that makes no sense" ME: "that makes perfect sense, what dont you get?" DUMMY: "what do you mean by support? How can you choose to not support something" ME: "your the one not making sense. I dont agree with what they stand for to the point where they value a tree over a human life (and other stuff) and will not give them my support and fight them by enjoying the great outdoors in a perfectly pleasable manner when they are trying to stop me from enjoying my favorite pastime, considering it cruel and barbaric." DUMMY: "that still doesnt make sense" do you think that this conversation sounds completley pointless and cant possibly be true excluding bad comedy movies, but guess what, this is an exact conversation i had once with a person (which i no longer try to talk to) but the real thing went on for five minutes and they still didnt understand.
  16. 1. learn to fish deep 2. get better at fishing new bodies of water 3. learn to fish cranks 4. catch a 7lb bass
  17. Floro is a great choice. It is fairly invisible at high diameter and is very abrasion resistant
  18. Well there are several things that come to mind. 1. The water is clear, and the bass can see your line. This is possible and will affect your catch rate. This could be because you are using very heavy line, and although the diameter may be small, the line is still solidly colored, no translucent effects. It is easy to see even in thin diameters. 2. The braided line has zero stretch, and you might not be considering how this affects your presentation. It will make all of your movements very exact and instentanious under the water. That little twitch could make your lure jump twice as far with no stretch. 3. The bite is just off. It happens.....
  19. i ordered mine from the manns website. bought 5 bags because they are my number 1 smallie bait now
  20. The features on my last 2 pbs (6lbs, and 5-11) were both normal. But one five pounder i caught a couple of years ago had giant bulging eyes. It comes with the aging process, not necissarily size.
  21. I dont know if you can recall, but spots have sand paper like tounges, which is a dead giveaway. Heres a comparison. Im far from an expert, ive never even caught a spot, but this is the only difference i notice, which is the dotted lines along their side/belly. An expert might give you more differences
  22. Well visibility was about 6 inches. And like i said, about 1/4 (maybe more) of the lake was frozen. If you look over my right shoulder on the first pic you can see the ice. Anyways, i was wondering if anybody was going to comment on the shades, i like to wear them everywhere, just lucky that they are polarized.
  23. And finally fish number 3. This one hit the jig so hard it hooked itself, made a nice run right after and dug down, thought i had a nicer one on
  24. Fish number two. Look at the hook, how did i manage to land this one?
  25. Here are the conditions- 35 degrees, about 1/4 or more of the lake is still under ice. Bluebird skies, and gusts up to and over 25 mph. Guess what, i caught 3 fish, and in about 1 and 1/2 hours. All 3 were caught on an 1/8th oz terminator jig rigged with a yum crawtube. I missed about 5 more bites. I didnt measure these fish, but are guessing they are around 16". First fish of the day, caught in about 1 foot of water next to shore
