  1. I know thats popular with the swimming senkos. And in super deep water, i imagine a c-rig would be fine. I have fished them on split shot rigs when we were on the lake a couple of time because the captn likes to fish tubes and fish them fast. I couldnt keep up with them boat without any weight. I was a little p.o.'d about that, although i still managed to get the big fish of the day. (on a senko)
  2. To answer my own question, i use 3/0 hooks on 5" worms, and 4/0 on 6" worms. Sounds about right. Now the 4" im mainly concerned with catching those brown bass. And from what i hear they are wicked good on the dropshot. Hows that sound?
  3. I just got my new bps extreme woo daves rod in today. I got one, but returned it since it was a gift, and the wrong power. (MH v M) So i returned the MH and got the M. It is paired up with a pflueger president spinning reel, which i plan to spool up with camo green yo-zuri hybrid 6 lb. test. Now i must say that this rod is nice! Fairly light, super active tip, firm yet forgiving, and it has a really comfortable grip. Now this thing isnt perfect. For one, the rod seems to have a really long butt. I got the 7' one piece, and personnally dont mind it too much, but it seems odd that a Medium power rod would have such a long butt. Something i noticed is that it has a super thick and stocky blank on the bottom, but is super thin at the top, this is a plus, tons of backbone and sensitivity. Anyways, cant wait to get the balancing kit for it, i can put that in my bionic blade too.
  4. Its obvious that the 5" senko is a definate favorite among fisherman, and i know that the 6" is a totally different bait, i bought a pack of 6" and i almost prefer them. Also, do you find 4" senkos to be effective? It seems that their action would be limited on account of how short and stubby they are. Anyways, how do you rig, (hook size) and fish each bait differently, if any different at all.
  5. Why dont you go to a local bait shop, feed store, sporting goods store, meijer, walmart, or even some gas station, all which you can buy worms at. But yes, cabelas does carry live bait.
  6. To be honest, i turn the magnets off, i turn all of the pins off, and i have the tension set as free as i can without the knob falling off.
  7. Heres a lure combination for you that produces a large profile, slow fall, and super realistic action. Works for me, and should anywhere water is still cold. Terminator 1/8th oz. finnese jig and a yum crawtube. If you are more of a run and gun jig fisherman that enjoys pitching to cover, hopping or swimming a jig in, in may take a minute or two to get used to the light weight and slow fall of this combo.
  8. We would catch them in a slight but very noticeble current just outside of the pilings
  9. how would it perform on a spinnng reel?
  10. A+ rods, buy one
  11. Got another one after moving once again, this time about 6lbs and 26"
  12. Now day 3 was my day. I decided to throw a little bit of everything i had in my box. Up to this point, all of our fish were on 4 and 5" grubs. I went through a bunch of stuff and came up with nothing. I decided to move. We went to the other side of the bridge, downstream. First cast with a silver/black huskey jerk, taptap, set the hook! I got a decent fish on my line, wait a minute, a BIG fish!! Too bad it didnt fight harder, but it was fun anyways. This is double my last pb walleye, which was 5 lbs. This one weighed in at 10 lbs. and at 29"
  13. Day 2, I take my buddy with me this time. Only he hooks into something, a decent 23.5" walleye, around 5 lbs. He flips out and wants it mounted. I thought he was crazy, since its only 5 lbs. Anyways, i managed a little walleye, 14" and under keeper size.
  14. Alright, ill start from day one. I was walleye fishing, and i wasnt having any luck. I decided to hit up one last spot under a bridge on my way back. Within a few minutes i was awarded with a prime eating walleye, 17"
  15. Well, its been raining for three straight days, its 35 degrees, windy, cloudy, and miserable. Lets go fishing! But really, its been about 1-2 months since ive been bass fishing. I decided to give it a go. Anyways, since the water is close to 40 degrees, i created a bait that i was very pleased with. An 1/8th oz. terminator finnese jig and a yum crawtube. Looks natural and sinks slower than any jig combo i know apparently the fish liked it. I caught 2 in a half hour, but had to leave because i was going to some buddies' house. First one was about 15", while the second was 17", and close to 3 lbs.
  16. bmkole- use something like along the lines of a flipping tube. They have really thick, meaty heads that can hold a hook really well. They dont work too well on jigheads, though. Btw, i am always fishing tubes. And almost exclusivley on 1/8th oz. insider heads, sometimes 1/16 oz, and rarely 1/4 oz, although i have them up to 1/2 oz. Here are some good flipping tubes that wont slide on the hook http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=15640&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=7&hvarSubCode=6&hvarTarget=browse
  17. I fish the rivers. I dont usually catch too many fish, usually 1-2 per trip.
  18. My little "pond", or puddle has tuns of frogs, turtle, and snakes in it. No fish, despite our efforts to introduce them, they wouldnt live. Anyways, ill practice pitching by taking a bell sinker and casting it close to frogs. They inhale the sinker, and you pull them in and pull it out of their mouth. Kind of funny. They will even chase the sinker onto land
  19. YES! 1706'
  20. YOUR SICK!! SICK SICK SICK!! But really, lots of fun.
  21. Well, i ended up getting this for christmas. The only thing is, i was given the combo with the pfluger president, which is still awesome, and i believe performs as well as the shimano side by side. Anyways, i didnt get to use the rod. I was given the 7' MH, and i wanted the 7'M. But we worked it out and i am getting the different rod, but im going to keep the reel.
  22. Well i gave the line a workout. One thing i noticed, was that through the day, the line seemed to get more manageble. What i mean is, it straightend out and became a little more limp then what it was when it was on the spool. A bunch of praise goes to yo-zuri for this line. It is stiffer than what i would like for a spinning reel, but performed greatly for the casting reel. The line never got a single fray in it, and i was fishing the bottom of a river (snaggy as possible) I broke off once, but that was on purpose on a snag. My old trilene sensation cant compare. They are both 10 lb. test, but i could barely break the hybrid line where the triline was much easier. So over all pros cons -very strong - stiff -holds a good knot - lots of memory -casts good (on baitcasters) -never frayed -does not stretch
  23. I just bought some yo-zuri hybrid line (10 lb) for my baitcaster. They didnt have ultra soft, but heard good things about both lines. Anyways, i noticed its very stiff. Is this a problem. I also seems to have a lot of line memory. What are the pros and cons to regular yo-zuri hybrid line?
