The Little Green Fish...
i'm the same way. it actually can be a bad thing for me cause i set my alarm for 4:15 on fishing days limiting my sleeping time and on top of that, i can't fall asleep due to the excitement. so i always end up getting like 2.5 hours of sleep.

What Kind Of Fish
bass hit the surface violently most of the time, don't see em rolling on the surface too often. I've seen gar do this however.

Public Pond Ragin

Missed One Types Of Bites
yes it does feel exactly like a machine gun, thats how we've always described it. a lot of times though when i feel a blue gill attacking it, I give it a quick little jerk to get it away from em and get slammed by bass right after. bluegill aren't scared....

What Do You Carry?
when i'm hiking around a lake or pond, i carry a small bag like Francho, with one lure for each of the water columns so i can catch em once i find out how they're biting. people say you wanna take everything you own so you can fine tune what's needed according to how the bass are behaving any given day, but in my experience with fishing private lakes and ponds from the bank, if they're not biting my brush hog or buzzbait within the first hour, it's not lookin good for the day.

Topwater Frogs
i like buzzfrogs better than hollowbodies but they don't always want that presentation. color doesn't matter with buzzfrogs as much as hollowbodies since its more of a reaction hit most times. white or silver bellies is what i aim for in hollowbodies. there's a split second moment when you get a hit where you have to observe weather or not he got it in his mouth. once you realize he didn't swing and miss, set the hook. do not wait! one key to assuring hook up is setting the hook on taut line. good luck bud and get ready to become addicted!

Ballsy Perch

s silver rapala countdown- Bleeding Fish
you hook her in the gut? supposedly a gut hooked fish's chance for survival is slim, even if they swim off right away.- Favorite Technique
my favorite technique is the one that i've narrowed it down to any particular day after the usual process of elimination. lol Knowing that its summer time narrows it down to topwaters and shallow cranks in the morning, and jigs and plastics as the day progresses and the bite is in transition to deeper water.- Bow Fishing.... Is It Ethical?
not if its an invasive species- Losing Big Fish
oh yeah, or you can use a net lol- Losing Big Fish
i agree with burying your rod in the water, not just the tip, but i put nearly half my rod in the water to keep em from jumping, more frequently with treble hook baits. Once you get em in close, steer the bass in figure 8's to help keep em from going under the boat until he's done fightin. that's when i lose a lot of my fish, after the fight and getting them next to the boat, they like to take that one last dive. Figure 8's can help maintain control of the fish until they are ready for lipping. Also, as far as using light line, I've learned the thinner gauge wire hooks are more easily set on light line than say a Gammy Superline or Owner extra strong.- Deep Cranking Line, Mono Or Fluoro?
10lb Trilene 100%. or i suppose if youre comfortable with BPS brand then try their 10lb flouro- Braid
i know you were asking about Vicious but if you're in the market for braided, Dawai Samorai is the perfect braid. it takes forever to fade and it's super supple/soft yet very strong. Its flouro diameter equivalent is smaller than a lot of other braids. its like someone fused silk with steel!- New Shimanos At Tackle Warehouse
dont forget about abu stx- Lake Food Chain
Once they hatch they kick it with dad until they are able to swim, then the fry school up and swim around near the nest while dad fights off predators until they grow about an inch.Yes, Dad eats a few sometimes. Out of all the thousands of eggs, supposedly only 5-10 grow beyond 10 inches. Then they assume the normal behavioral roll of a bass.- Owie!!!
i was on my way to hauling some pulp wood a while back, standing up in the bed of a pick up and over the cab. well i don't know what it was, but it felt as big as a full grown locust smack me square in the eye lid and stung the ever living crap outta me at the same instant, almost knocking me out of the truck. the truck going about 35-40 mph along with however fast the monster bee was flying in the opposite direction made it that much worse. i never saw it but it just assumed it was a bumble bee on steroids- Bass Wrapping Line Around Tree
first off, invest in a high speed reel so you can get em up and out of there in a jiffy. keep in contact with your lure by maintaining a semi tight line. the braid youre using should give you the sensitivity you need to detect bites in order to set the hook asap. if youre fishing from a boat, troll away from the structure during the fight or have your fishing partner do it for you, just to eliminate the chance of him diving back down in there. - Mass Sucide Of Skunks
