  6. <<<<<< * sees what all the Rage is about*
  7. welcome to the boards and keep at em'!
  8. sorry, gotta hijack while DVT is on board. every now and again, on every one of my stx's i gotta screw this little bar/pin in that runs across the top of the spool and screws in on the inside of the side plate. but now i can't get it to catch the threads and it just sits loose. looks like this. why do all of them do this!?!?
  9. i wonder if cavemen got detained for their hieroglyphics. when alien palaeontologists visit earth after human existence, we can't show them anything about us with plain ole blank walls.
  10. yozuri rattlin' vibe in baby bass has literally been magical for me this time of the year. that, a bluegill pattern square bill, and a buzz frog are always in the batters box for me in the fall. i don't like to slow down much unless i have to but if you see me with my my curly tail worms, game hawgs, and lizards tied on, i'm swimming them erratically as opposed to my usual crawling and hopping. remember, they're opportunistic creatures and that along with their vicious gluttony just before winter makes just about any bait seem productive
  11. I'm no expert when it comes to reading sonar, but here is a good thread with sonar pics identifying a thermocline
  12. i do fine with a chug bug.
  13. try keeping it simple, go with a rooster tail
  14. Great question actually, my favorite go to lake is very close to the Jackson airport and there are constantly big planes that are low super close to the lake during take off/landing, and i've gotten bit several times with a cargo planes directly over head. i know its not the same sound but they're loud. i'd imagine if this doesn't spook them, then that shouldn't either.
  15. I'm in complete agreement here. a buddy and i were talking yesterday while fishing about how it's the all time quarter back of lures. in a lot of situations, it's all you really need! would definitely be my lure of choice if i were restricted to one lure.
  16. wow. size AND numbers. I'd hate to throw down against you in a tournament, ridiculous bass as always
  17. if youre making super long casts, you may want to consider a heavy action with a fast tip to get a solid hookset at that kind of distance.
  18. they like that dry weather yall are gettin over there. they love to chill in that tall brush and just hitch a ride on the next passing creature. imagine if that's how humans had to eat can you imagine? i've discovered ticks in places that would make your spine shutter. glad you could at least catch some bass.
  19. very nice man. i would have chomped into that tuna before i could get the hook out its mouth. this post has me pumped about fishing in Clearwater this Friday. dont think we'll be that deep though. nice fish
  20. after seeing those butch brown pics, i dont think anyone can tell you what that fish weighs by those pics. thats incredible. 2 lbs??! i definitely thought that was a solid 5. even thats a dink for butch. oh and nice fish clarey. its you and pops gettin on a good fish that really matters. don't listen to the party poopers
  21. 3 is perfect unless you're using the lobster.
  22. most plastics these days all but disintegrate on a hook set. its all in your head. i used to also be paranoid about this as well so set the hook like sam said and you'll be alright. This is a great video:
