  1. geez man, the people who are calling you "snitch", and "tool" are just as guilty! it's sad that that exists in the circuits.
  2. find a genuine appreciation for their products for reasons that sets them apart from the rest, instead of just jumping on cause everyone else is. abu for life
  3. good for you man, for getting your buddy out of what seemed like an actual curse. and good for him for not given up even taking him 7 years...not so sure i would have continued fishing. wow. and cool story on gettin your bait back. last 3 weeks, i have broken off on a hookset fishing a frog thrown to the exact same mat from the exact same angle. somewhere out there is a big *** bass with two spro jr's pinned to the roof of his mouth. i'll get em back.
  4. my guess is that it was an imitation of a bleeding baitfish. good question. the old farts will be here soon.
  5. if you can't have it like this, there's no point in marrying the person.
  6. i put my stuff on here a while ago, not one reply. i may bump it I'll be up to try it again i guess.
  7. doesn't sound crazy at all Gene. it can match without being the same color. a nice contrast can be the ticket. an old fart on the boards recommended this one to me and they're bad ***. Salt Craw the claws stand up well when it comes to a rest, which is key
  8. i am praying so hard for this one to just sit on top of us and fill my lakes back up. we need 12 inches
  9. when i first started adamantly bass fishing like an addict, i bought a little bit of everything and since then i have narrowed it down to the baits that fit my style the best so now i have a garage full of unused gear. i need to put it up on craigs list
  10. i dont think it effects the fishing but i sure as hell missed a big fish this morning reelin my crank bait in while talkin to my buddy down the bank a ways. i think i thought it snagged something at the time so i just stood there staring until the line went slack again and i saw a huge wake. i blamed my buddy for talking to me.
  11. never done that before but with a forgiving drag and an Owner extra strong, offset shank wide gap worm hook, there's no such thing as impenetrable...if we're talking bass
  12. crap pic but my geezer fishing buddy hasn't figured out his iphone camera yet. this is my favorite time to throw a frog. sunrise says 6:37 on the weather channel, but i caught her at six on the dot. right when the sky turns from pitch black to that deep purple.
  13. got my bobbys perfect frogs in the mail and caught my personal best this morning. 7.6 pounder! Caught her in some sparse grass next to a thick mat, just kinda gently scootin' it from one tuft of grass to the next. then i got a couple 3's and a 4 pound bass walkin this frog. Hey nice call Packard, this frog walks very effortlessly. can't say it's better than a spro but it's definitely equal. not once did i squeeze out water but after that first fish, it took me a sec to put it back together cause the rings that connect the line tie to the hook were all the way out and the frog itself was all scrunched up. but i got it back together and destroyed 3 more nice fish. still had to tinker with it after every fish to get the hook back inside but i love how soft these things are.
  14. im with you hooligan, the 3x worms are stubborn. perfect plastics game hawgs have been full proof since i started using them. if i could buy in bulk i would get a pallet of bama bug game hawgs. they are petroleum based so they slip and slide over, around and through weeds and grass like a boss. perfect plastic gets my vote. sucks though cause they just went up a dollar.
  15. hey man i fish Mississippi's mudhole lakes and rivers. its funny, i was talkin with my fishing partner last night about how arkansas and alabama have more rocks (being surrounded by the Ozarks on one side and the remnants of the Apps on the other) and mississippi is in between so we just get the run off from either direction resulting in a mudhole. lol It's fertile as can be but it's muddy. Tying straight to braid is all good in the hood. It's also ideal for your jigs and plastics given the exceptional sensitivity. Also, fine tune your drag a bit more cause it don't stretch much if any
  16. my favorite lake has crayfish that are dark red on the top and orange/brighter red on the bottom but i slay them consistently with black and blue. maybe its because i live in a mudhole state and the waters always murky. i agree though that contrasting colors are also productive.
  17. i like the idea for some of the lizard fishing i do in the fall where i swim em through pad stems more like a spinnerbait retrieve. i use 8" lizards and they very rarely inhale the whole bait when they take it so that extra hook would be nice given i'm settin the hook as soon as they hit rather than waiting an extra second like i do when fishing regular plastics.
  18. question is, are they ready
  19. nice man! thanks for sharing. pink fluke? or worm
  20. owner extra strong worm hooks are where it's at. absolutely zero problems since day one using them
  21. either a stiffer rod (especially if you're using a wide gauge hook) or throw those things on light braid. find a way to move more line on your hook set.
  22. Really? i set the hook in the same manner with similar results. when you know the fish didn't miss, set it. it only takes a human brain half a second to determine this. if you wanna call that waiting then more power to you. second, I'm curious as to how stiff this rod really is. its rated H, extra fast but i've held rods with that rating that were too limber for fishing a frog in heavy slop. look for a rod with the rating "broomstick". Also, did you get the 7.0:1 or the 6.3:1 Quantam? i just know that bass know what to do if they get caught in the pads. and a high speed reel on your side cam kake all the difference in the world. its like they are trained to wrap the line around the stem so that you set the hook on vegetation instead of her face. wait and you're screwed
  23. 1/16 oz road runner with a white bps cajun critter
  24. just gonna throw this at you....have you tried a scrounger head with a black fluke? wait...did i just say that out loud?
