  1. Suspending Jerk baits! Invest in a Luckycraft Pointer. I got one and it was well worth it. When they are suspending deaper I use a Rapala Deep Husky Jerk. Work them slowly.
  2. Spead boat! I would sell it and get a bass boat, and still have extra money for tackle. ;D Wendy's or Taco Bell ?
  3. I have discoverd how productive softplastics on the bottom is. The first bait I tried this year was a t-rigged baby brush hog with a 1/8oz wait. I caught a bass on my first cast. I recentley outfished a friend 12 to 8. I caught bass right where he was fishing a spinnerbait with my creature bait. My main method of catching them last year was a wieghtless stickbait. Now I have learned another productive method. ;D
  4. Wieghtless T-rigged stick baits. Also try a spinnerbait along the edge of the weeds and a frog crawled over the weads. I like fishing in weeds. They make it harder for lesser fishermen.
  5. You nead to get a a heavier rod and rig it up with some 20lb. Fireline. I would use a Texas rigged Worm in Red Shad. Use about a 3/16 oz. bullet wieght and a 7inch worm. A Senko or spinnerbait will also work. If the fish are not pressured they should be willing to bite. Have fun!
  6. Yah, I agree with Sam. I am a member of BASS mostly just to support it. I really like their magazine too though. It is worth the small cost.
  7. yeah, i would just put a couple of nice sized bass back in. You don't want too many small bass in a pond. They will grow bigger if there is less of them.
  8. I havent used a lure retriever from shore. But I have had the bow and arrow method work a couple of times. You grap the line between the bottom two giudes and pull it out so the line is tite. Then you let the line snap. If your lucky it will snap the bait free.
  9. I would definitley get the finness kit, 1/0 ewg Lazer sharp hooks(red), and a white spinnerbait. My Walmart has spinnerbaits for a dollar. They work pretty good.
  10. Fishing with live minnows can be exciting. I just rig the minnow with a plane hook. I hook them right through the tail and let them swim. You can add split shot to make it go deeper. [glb]Related Story[/glb] >I was recentley at a gospel music concert where i knew there was a pond. I took a kite thing (fits in pocket) rapped with 8lb. line and a size 8 hook. After awhile i went down to the pond to see if there was life in it. Using a bit of gum for bait it didnt take long to start pulling in bluegills. Then i caught a really small bluegill. i decided to see if i could catch a bass. I through it out and let it swim. A big bass(16 in.) ate it almost right away. I hand lined it in till it was about 2 feet. from the bank. Then it snapped the line. Next time i will take a fishing pole.
  11. You might get better hookups with a wacky rig. I havent seen the split tail rigs yet but they should probably work with a wacky rig. I have better sucsess with the 4 and 5 inch versions using a wacky rig.
  12. lol! I fish certain lures when i go fishing too. ;D What types of lures are you refering to?
  13. 9 inch yum dingers! thats huge! I bought some 7in. dingers(i dont know why) and they are big. How do u rig that big of a bait?
  14. A brownish colored tube jig should work. I have caught smallies that had their bellies full of crawsfish on green curly tails. I don't think they are that picky.
  15. I also practice in my yard a lot. I usually stand on a bucket to get me off the ground. My 4 cats are a major pain. They always seem to find me when i want to practice. : I wish i had my own pond.
  16. Do flash lights and head lights spook the fish when fishing at night? My friend said they will. Do they? ??? ???
  17. Yum Dingers = old love, still love I think that the sink rate is different. There better than Senkos in my opinion, plus they are cheaper!
  18. Shad !!!!!! Bluegill have sharp spines and crawfish have pinchers. Shad are easy to swallow. I would have to vote for shad.
  19. I think that Rick Clunn should get the award. He was great years ago and he is still great today. Bill Dance will probably win because of him being the most known of and popular among the general public. The GAD on Bass Saturday is very interseting. The GAD in Bassmaster also cleared some things up for me. I won't be too upset if Bill Dance wins. He is a great guy and has improved our sport.
  20. I agree with the previouse posts. Things that I would like to add: 1. Dont let the fish know your around. 2. Rapala original floating minnow. size 11 or 13 3. 4 inch senko, 1/0 EWG hook. 4. Buzzbait [glb]Pond bass fishing is a lot of fun ![/glb] ;D
  21. Try downsizing your lures. Use light line and maybe a gub on a jig head. If you can not catch bass try for bluegill. Use the smallest hook you can find, and some crappie nibbels, or live bait. Before you can catch fish, you have to be fishing; where there is fish to catch.
  22. I have heard that they are kind of hard to use, but if I hear that they work good, I might get one.
  23. Rapala original minnow; Finness worm on a 1/0 hook texas rigged. Wacky rig when not in weads, weightless. Good Luck!!
