  1. I was down there last sat/sun and stayed at a hotel in clinton, which I believe is north of stockton a little way's, you gotta go to the "golden corral" to try the fried catfish!!!! Wow!! That was good, and no mouseturd's!! LOL!! Junebugman
  2. I recently went to Missouri to go to bass pro shop's and look around for a new boat well I did'nt end up with a boat, but the people there are the nicest and most courteous i've met in a while I also got to meet KVD he was there for a tournament or something I waited in line and got to shake his hand!!! Still have'nt washed it!!!!! But any way's I ended up finding another boat, a 1984 Astro glass 154 bass boat with a 90hp yamaha, very nice!! 2 owner, very clean for it's year, well the people I bought it from, the Hendrickson's from Collin's missouri, were the nicest people!! I won't forget them for as long as I live!! I was sad to leave those people, especially Harry, and his son they helped me out a lot when picking up the boat, now I know why they call Missouri the "show me state" The people showed me what a great place it is!! I hope all the people who live there are as proud as the Hendrickson family!!! Thank's!!! Junebugman
  3. I would recommend one of the more "spendier" one's becuz based on experience, the 19.99 one's don't and aren't worth it! There is one with a "bowed" or curved backside to it that look's like it would be nice but they are 50.00 or so, but if it last's a couple year's it'll pay for 2 to 3 of the cheap one's!! Bass pro has a bunch of different one's too. Junebugman
  4. Been to most or all of the polk/burnett cty lake's, ever been to green lk by birch island? it's across the road from sandy lake, been bass caught out of there over 7 lb's dont know what the landing is like though, the lake is aerated also!! Mudhen is great also along with little wood and big wood too! Some 20 pound plus tournament limit's out of there too!!! If anyone is up this way drop me a pm i'd like to show you all the "little" small lake's too!!Junebugman
  5. Do you mind!!!!! The stinking lake's are still frozen up here!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Lol! Junebugman
  6. I don't know how much boat landing's cost elsewhere but in talking to a crew putting one in at a lake a few year's ago the cost was 8,000.00 for just a single lane one!! I wonder how much those great big one's cost on some of them impoundment's down south? I am sure if the local township's don't anti up for em' gee? I wonder who foot's the bill?? I'll give you all 1 guess!!! Junebugman
  7. I was just wondering how many people you all see "power loading" thier bass boat's when loading up after a tournament etc, what you think of the effect it has on the boat ramp's, I have seen considerable damage over here in wisconsin where the edge's of the concrete there was a 2 to 3 ft drop from all the material washed out!!! This is really hard on the trailer I suppose!! The dnr has also started fineing and ticketing people that do this, In my opinion if you know how to properly load your bass boat you should'nt have to help ruin a launch if you don't know how or are careless. Just wanted to know what other bass angler's thought of this. Junebugman
  8. I bring my boat up to within a foot of the winch get out and winch her the rest of the way, it's fun watching all the comedy at the launche's though, wish I had a camera sometime's lol!!! Junebugman
  9. Passed on the starcraft!!! Compression varied from 130 to 90 lb's I ran like a scalded babboon! I'll keep looking! Junebugman
  10. You just need the cable, but on some boats you will need to take the motor off the transom, to keep it straight, my best guess give it a try! Junebugman
  11. Ah, memorie's! What did the wiseman say once, "Without memorie's of one's past triumph's and foible's, there would be but a vast empty soul!" Enjoy our precious time with loved one's, for tomorrow is not promised to no one! Peace!!! Junebugman
  12. Hello, doe's any one know anything about these on here? It has a 130 johnson on it, seem's in good shape just by checking it over. Has the original seat's in it also, gps fishfinder on dash and eagle f/f on bow mounted on t/m. Thank's Junebugman
  13. X's 3! Alway's get the biggest powered tm you can "afford" you won't be sorry!! Junebugman
  14. I had a 89 pro 17 tracker I found a "take off" maxxum 65lb 24 volt for 450.00 I think it was a 48 inch? But I had no trouble fishing in the wind with it, if cost is a concern, check craigslist and your local marine dealer's for deal's on trolling motor's. Junebugman
  15. Thanks for all the advice guy's We got the motor running today, did a warm compression test and was 140 to 145lb's all six cylinder's! Also did spark test, all coil's were a bright blue color, however, I am going to go over the carb's and replace the impeller just to be safe, with some elbow grease and tlc I should have a nice boat soon!! Junebugman
  16. Haven't picked up the boat "yet" But in response to your question, yes you should be able to see "black" particles' if the fuel line's are bad, the filter will stop them, but as fishing for dollar's say's if the line's are hard replace em it's cheaper the a new or rebuilt engine!! Great advice Fishing for dollar's!!! Junebugman
  17. I just completely disassembled and cleaned my 2 y/o symetry, now I got it back together and the super stopper don't work > I have cleaned dozen's of these reel's and never had this before! Anyone have an idea? And no commodic response's please! Lol! Thank's Junebugman :
  18. I want to join a large bass club next year, how do I know if it's a "keeper" Lol! Junebugman
  19. Hi guy's, I am trading my present boat for a 85 ranger 375 or something bass boat, it has a late 80's 150 black max xr-2 motor on it, anyone have any history on these motor's, injection system good etc. Thank's Junebugman
  20. I was at a gander mtn store looking at crankbait's and saw this "dirty" color I haven't seen yet so I bought one and went out and caught a pile of bass on it, but I had to put bigger trebbles' on it though number 4 blood red vmc's. Junebugman
  21. I use the lake fork "creature" a lot they work good as a trailer for a jig too, just pinch the head off and enjoy! Junebugman
  22. I had a tracker pro-70 on my old ranger 350 the only thing I ever had to do with it is oil the top of the motor under the cover a bearing dried and squeaked. I bought it as a take off at a tracker dealer for 400.00 brand new!!!! A word of advice, check your dealer's for "take off's" motor's that buyer's don't want that they can switch for a different one! Junebugman
  23. Any one think about putting some small piece's of foam in the frog to make it more bouyant, but enough to where the frog won't feel "unnatural" to a bass? I just thought of this while reading this thread, i'll give it a try and let you know the result's! June bug man
  24. When I rig my frog hook, I bring the hook through all the way but just put the point in the body with a little hook showing behind the barb, it help's a lot and keep's it pretty weedless. Junebugman
  25. Just interested to find out, I have had some "memorable" day's using this!! My favorite color is the green with chartruese tail, but they tear easy! I just weld em' with a match. Junebugman
