I don't have any special knowledge re: the effects of cold storage, just my own experience. I store all of my rods, reels and tackle (except line) in an unheated shed. I worry far more about the effects of Kansas summers than about the cold winters. I store my reels in cloth bags to keep the dust out, rods go in a vertical rack and tackle stays in the tackle boxes. I've done this for decades with no problems. Tom

I've been using 7.5" Culprit worms a lot lately. I've caught everything from dinks that were barely as long as the worm to a 6.1 lb. (my best this year). Location is far more important. If you throw that big ol' worm in an area where there's nothing but small bass, that's what you'll catch. Tom

I've had great success on both largemouth and smallmouth (and many other species) with Panther Martin spinners. My "confidence" colors are black w/gold blade, all silver, all gold and firetiger w/gold blade. Tom

This is probably the most overlooked aspect of learning the baitcasting technique. Baitcasting requires an earlier release than spinning. If you release your baitcaster at the same point that you do your spinning rig, the result is "divebombing". Tom
