There was a show on last night (National Geographics Explorer -  World's Most Dangerous Gang) about the gang MS 13.  Do any of you guys have this gang in your area?  LA seems to be loaded with them (as well as many other US cities).  It's such a shame to see these things.

I belive the Virginia area is a stronghold for them.  I would not be shocked to find them in the 'burgh.

I believe they have made inroads north from VA into MD.

In our small town, one was arrested a few years back in conjunciton with a rape.  I believe a "hit" was also put out on a cop to my south after he made a traffic stop (although I do not remember if is was MS13 or LK).

Yeah unfortunately they are in my area, there have been gang fights up to 100 guys at a time and a few smaller ones. Had one of around 25 people in the court across from where I live last year. Never saw so many cops responding at one time.

Prince William is the worst I think in my area, Woodbridge is pretty bad now too. Luckily Stafford is only filled with a couple wannabe gangsters.

They are ruthless and heinous to say the least.

None I know of here. But from the way the show depicted them there growing rapidly. 

we got em down here too. when i took a visit to our lovely correctional center a few years back , i remember there was a huge "MS 13" on the wall. i cant say ive seen any in person though.

Yes we do, lots of them.  Certain areas of Hialeah are inundated with them. 

There are gangs and then there are "wannabes" - most times the "wannabes" are more dangerous because they have no control whatsoever. A lot of gangs are actually organized crime groups that more often than not happen to be made up mostly of minorities, but not always. They are everywhere.

They are all over here too. It seems like more and more at our high school as well...

I lucked out getting to attend a high-school were gangs are almost nill.

I assume they are here in rough 'hoods of the city but have never actually seen a member only graffiti signs, but of course, I avoid the rough 'hoods.

The newest most dangerous gang in the world according to NatGeo now is the Texas Arian Brotherhood.

In certain rough areas up here, Mexicans were routinely attacked by another minority group because they often carried large sums of cash.

They never reported the robberies as many of them were undocumented/illegal and didn't want to draw attention to themselves. They began to form "gangs" mostly in an effort to protect themselves, that's where the MS 13 rumors started around here.

That's how it was explained to me by a neighbor who is also a local cop.

Here in Chicago they recently had a "summit" with the gang leaders and the police to try and curb the violent crime.  It was covered by the press. I saw the MS13 on TV and not sure if they're in Chi-Town but we have enough Gangster Disciples and Latin Kings. If you guys want some of them maybe arrangements can be made ;D.

Yea, they are pretty fluent around here. I took a an organized crime class and school and learned how this gang actually handles things. Shocking to say the least.

I heard that they will drive without their headlights on and when Joe Citizen flashes the high beams at the on coming car to let them know to turn them on, the car would turn around and chase the car down. Kill everyone inside. While I thought this story was bs, it happened twice during that semester in a county near by to where I currently live.

They would also attack other latin gangs with a machete. A member would walk up to another member of another gang, and THWACK! chopped off hand.

Haha, I hear ya. The only thing I saw was police pictures of a wrecked car and two bodies in the car. They were straight from my professors (a police office) digital camera. For all I really know it was just an accident.

Heavy influenced in Dallas,TX my home town. I can tell you stories on top of stories about MS-13. I was very careful not to cross them. Nothing good about them. Most of them were Illegals.
