  1. I subscribed to BASS after my local bookstore stopped carrying them. I received one magazine and haven't received another in well over a month. I never received the tackle bag that was supposed to be a complementary gift.
  2. Silver blue back/ orange belly trap. And firetiger trap. I have a good collection of rattlebaits but i don't have any red eye shads. Seems like they are a favorite. As a matter of fact I have avoided strike king crankbaits for along time. They used to be badly tuned and cheaply constructed.
  3. Looks like they are chokin that chatter jig. Great alternative to a spinnerbait.
  4. I would like to go north for toothy fish. Like pike in Siberia.
  5. I would recommend a black skirt with a bulky black trailer, with a big thumpin gold indiana blade.
  6. The thing about spinnerbaits is that their are so many different ways you can customize your spinnerbaits for different conditions and locations. I feel I could fish only spinnerbaits all year and do half decent. But I would need to fill my whole binder with a ton of different spinnerbaits.
  7. So im done open water fishing for the year, and now im already thinking about next year. I have been browsing the lunker city website looking at all the slug-gos i will need for next year because i want to focus on stripers in the river when they come. However I need some bass jigs because my jig game is lacking. I consider my one weakness in bass fishing the bass jig. I know to be a more well rounded bass fisherman I have to be good with a jig. So many tournaments are won and so many big fish are pulled with the bass jig. So anyone have experience or success with lunker city jigs? they have a football head jig and smaller swim jigs. They also have a chunk designed for the jig. Another question, when you cast or flip a jig do you have tension in the line while the jig falls? I feel like i missed bites because i was letting a jig fall on a slack line and then picking it up?
  8. Ice fishing. Hawg largemouth and big esox.
  9. I have used my sevylor k5 inflatable in the river. First of all you need to know the river and know where there is swift current and where it is more slack. When paddling upriver I try to stay near shore or the shoal at my spot. This is where the current is lesser. I would not kayak when the river is high, the best time is low water low flow. If you get into the swift currents just muscle through it. Stopping to cast is going to set you back aways, so plan when you are going to cast and for how long. I only kayaked the river 5 times this fall, im bringing home my kayak and calling it a season today.
  10. Whoa thats a hawg pounder even right there
  11. You need to downsize to a smaller bait.
  12. Lets see if they can stand the test of time in the tackle market. Then i might try some.
  13. Just a story about the birds. I was down at the river at a spot where power lines cross the river. There was a congregation of cormorants perched on the lines, crapping away into the river. I set my line downriver from the birds and it was a catfish bonanza. Best cat day I had all last year when i was doing that kind of fishing. The cats were feeding heavy on the crap from the birds. Fish feeding off the birds.
  14. You can't beat an inline spinner fished over grass in the current, and fished thru shade near the bank. I put my yak in the river for fall and this was my go-to tactic.
  15. Keep in mind that the 15lb MA state record was caught thru the ice by a crappie fisherman with a small panfish jig.
  16. Went down yonder to the river to try my luck targeting carp and cats. Didn't get any because the water and flow was way down. But i did see a school of baitfish holding near shallow cover, along with some juvenile greenies. After my skunk going for bottom feeders i started thinking how the fall bass bite must be close if not hear already. The baitfish start schooling up and holding in cover and holes. Run a spinner near the bait and it can be a bonanza. Ill be going for bass next week, with tubes, spinners, and spinnerbaits on the menu. Anybody nailing smallies on fall patterns yet?

    killer gill
  18. I would like to try a silent rattle bait. A lipless bait with just that tight vibration no noise.
  19. Wire baits and hollow bodies.
  20. Greetings from Haverhill!
