  1. Because you can't cover water.
  2. I think a purple/black flake plastic would look nice.
  3. Sorry thats how it is where i striper fish. everythingthatswims corrected me.
  4. You can't use wild herring for striper bait. They're protected. Its like shooting a bald eagle.
  5. I don't have electronics so thats why i think a spinnerbait would be a good bait to cover water.
  6. Can't beat black spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.
  7. I rediscovered a big natural lake that i used to go to as a child. All i really remember was catching a huge white perch trolling. Anyways I want to probe and explore the deeper exspanses of this lake. I don't want to just follow the shoreline and fish behind all the other kayakers and bass boats. I am fishing from a yak and i only bring a small binder of baits, no trebles so no cranks. I would like some thoughts on the ledgebuster spinnerbaits. Are they easy to slow roll in say 20+ ft. of water? Will big fish hit them? I think most of the shallow fish have seen spinnerbaits. But to the deep fish spinnerbaits might be fresh. In the meantime before i order some ledgebusters i have a spinnerbait that should work, (huge heavy head and tiny blades). As far as technique with these 1+ oz. baits I think I would just fan cast the depths and try to slow roll and stay in contact with the bottom and learn whats down there.
  8. Throw a silver rattletrap.
  9. I think you should add a chatterbait/bladed jig to the list. I voted for spinnerbait. However i love lipless baits but i don't carry them in my kayak.
  10. I caught a 4lber on my koppers frog yesterday evening. I want to get a popping frog, black, just like bluebasser. Also don't overlook mouse imitations.
  11. I would think u would need a bigger bite in the hook on your chatterbait.
  12. Anybody using this bait? I bought them as a jig trailer, but i haven't used the heavy jig that i put the bait on. I think this bug would be killer as a stand alone flipping bait, on a wide gap hook. Flips and pitches in the pads. Im certain this will be a good bait in the pads to complement my tubes and worms. Also, does anybody love those worm hooks that have some lead welded onto the shank? These hooks are versatile and just the right weight for a controlled fall.
  13. I would think you should loosen the brake until the lure drops quickly. My old ambassaduer i don't use for casting for bass, i just use it for carp where i take one cast and let it sit.
  14. Terminators do eventually break. I have seen it myself and i have seen friends'.
  15. I like a spinnerbait in the wind.
  16. I don't have any terminators no more. Lost one last year and one this year. However i did aquire A TERMINATOR buzzer this year. My spinnerbait collection would be all terminators idealy. I just can't stand thinking i have to tune my spinnerbait after every fish. I don't know why but i just think i have to tune it after every fish, but when im throwing a terminator i don't worry about that. Then u start tuning it and bending it and it just makes it worse and now its running on its side. Gosh darn it. So what im asking is; are there any other brands besides TERMINATOR that offer a maintenance-free, snapback sb?
  17. This season i have decided to make chatterbaits a staple in my small kayak tackle bag, along with spinnerbaits, tubes, and other single hook stuff. My experience this year with my chatterbait is that this is a big fish bait. However i don't want to completely cull out smaller bass from my fishing. I read in an old magazine that smaller fish are intimidated by the bladed jig. I have been using the 1/2 once white cahtterbait but i also got a 1/4 once white bait that i haven't used yet. I also got a 5/8 once chatterbait pro and that thing is huge, especially with a swimbait trailer on it. Im gona throw that thing for hawgs. Back in i think '06 i bought a chatterbait because of all the "chatter" at that time about the lure. I caught a small bass on it, but i don't remember what size that lure was. Am I gona catch numbers throwing a chatterbait?
  18. I hooked a duck with a crankbait at a camp ground and the thing went balistic so i cut the line. Then I caught a monster snapping turtle in a marina on a weedless worm, thing was a tank. Quick release with pliers.
  19. Bottom line is i added 4 new chatterbaits to my tackle and 0 rage blades. Im not gona fin-s this thing fishing it as slow as i can. With a bladed jig i want to search and cover water. Another point- the skirt is positoned like half way down the shank, makes it look kind of unatural with a bare shank between the blade and skirt/trailer. I think my rage blade will be relegated to the bottom of my binder. And i think that clip of shaw grigsby was just a spot for strike king.
  20. I have alot of this spiderwire line, so im just gona change it every 4 outings and then try powerpro of suffix braid. Thanks for the comments.
  21. I think its best to apply in the bathroom before you go out. Then you can just wash your hands if your paranoid of traces of the smell on your lures.
  22. Nothing wrong with my casting rod guides.
