The premier is.. I set the hook and the bail spins or "slips" regardless.. I do not have that problem with any of my STXs.. And no the drag on the S isnt giving me any problems.. just looking for projects to do this winter to pass the time..

I have a buddy who I think has one of every rod made. We went to Erie last fall, and he had a Vengeance, a Vendetta, Mojo's, Carrot Stix's, Kistler's, Cumara's, and the list just goes on. I brought my stuff, but fished with his when I broke off and we were on fish and retied later. I used just about all of those rods that day. Honestly, I liked the Vengeance, but it was the lowest end rod in his line up, and I can't remember the length/power/action it was. 7' M sounds right, but I am not sure. I could feel bites just fine drop shoting in 35 FOW, but it was calm that day, and they were just about ripping the rods out of our hands. Weight wise, it was fine, not to heavy. I actually like the handle better than the Vendetta, no big metal reel seat nut to bug my fingers. Thanks! The fiancee wants to get me a new rod n reel for Valentines Day so I will have to request one

Do you think it would be beneficial to upgrade the drag on a Revo S with the Carbontex drag washers? I'm ordering some for my 09 Premier and was gonna get some if they were gonna be beneficial... what is the drag on a revo s?

well i had bps send me the schematic via email and i noticed that the reason my levelwind wasnt working was because it was missing 3 pieces that hold it in place.. haha.. instead of just replacing the missing pieces i replaced the worm gear and another part that came with it.... put it back together and it was as good as new! I learned a lot about a reel just by tearing it apart and putting it back together.. Just took some guts.. hahah

Thanks for all of the suggestions! Anyone have any experience with the vengeance? I can get that from TW for cheap, and it'd give me some room to buy one of the Okuma Trio High speed reels...

does anyone have experience with the Okuma Trio high speed reel? by looks alone, i think this would look absolutely amazing paired with a vengeance.. and i could get both for under 80 bucks from TW with a discount.. what do ya think?

Hey all.. I need a cheap but sensitive dropshot rod. I don't use this technique very often but i feel like any rod would work better than the current one I use (Berkely Amp.) I think i have it narrowed down to these... 7'0 Medium Light Abu Garcia Vengeance 6'9 Medium Light Abu Garcia Vendetta 6'9 Medium Light Abu Garcia Veritas 6'6 Denali Jadewood Dropshot 7'0 Light Shimano Clarus Like I said.. please don't recommend any 120$+ rods.. I'm looking to spend under a hundred bucks if possible.. I have a tournament on Lake Erie this summer and my best friend and former college fishing partner (who never dropshotted in his life) won the FLW College Fishing tourney at Lake Erie this summer using the Dropshot.. So any input is appreciated!

not to hijack or anything as I am interested in good spinning reels for good prices... Anyone have any experience with the Abu Garcia Soron SX? Or even the Cardinal 500ALBi? I'm a Revo guy and I hate to shy away from Abu Garcia.. especially if they make a good spinning reel..

They wouldn't charge you with something they didn't send.... whenever they ship the packaged, you will get charged.. They are very easy to do business with and they won't rip you off.

man, i'm starting to think i really lucked out!! They had Quantum Code combos there baitcasting and spinning for 39.99 too..

I have always texas rigged with a 1/16oz bullet weight... lots of people texas rig them weightless... whenever the bit is on, I will wacky rig them because they are so torn up they wont stay on the hook any other way... and STILL catch fish! Goodluck!

I've found a lot of great sales in PA.. I havent really checked into the trolling motors and stuff but the hunting and fishin stuff is all 50%off clearance..

Expect to up your fish count by at least 10%! You need 4inch Junebug Senkos for early in the year up until the spawn and 5in Greenpumkin red flake for post-spawn until end of summer..

I own a ton of different baits.. however.. i can't seem to shy away from Zoom and GYCB.. they catch fish.. Period!!
