another reason - and this was alluded to already - is that years ago when those pictures were posted, Very Few People were bass fishers! ...around here, they called them "trout" & hardly anybody fished for them. ...i remember when i first bass fished in the Big Pee Dee River, people laughed & told me there was nothing in that river but catfish & panfish. ...now, Whenever & Wherever you fish in the river, it's water shared with other bass fishermen. Bass Fishers EveryWhere! ...and, getting more by the day. pressure is being put on the bass fish population like never before. there's still a few big fish, but, they're harder to come by & ten thousand people wanting them. ...sadly, the days you speak of are gone forever!

and, just think, you probably only saved about 10 grand! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee

a guy had this Ugly boat & trailer sitting by the road on the way to town for a couple of months. i finally got in touch w/him (young man, probably late teens, early twenties), he said he wanted $250..i said, no thanks, not interested. he asked me what i would give, i told him $100, he agreed to $125 & he delivered to my house. tires were shot, so, i went to ag south, bought two new ones for $24 plus change, each. got a trailer jack stand from cabelas for $19.99. ..i had this old platform & trolling motor on another jon boat years ago, so, i just cut it down to fit. bought a new battery & "voila" for around 3 bills, i have me a Genuine Pond Boat. took it out today to christen it & Wore Them Out, had a Fantastic day. ... hey, anybody want to go pond fishing? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i used to fish santee cooper a lot at night & dock owners would line their docks with Long fishing poles, etc., to keep everyone away. ..what they didn't realize is that Those were the docks that i would target because i knew they had brushpiles, etc., around them! they would come out & yell & scream & generally act like idiots, but, i'd just fish til i thought i'd caught all i could from that area. the truth is, they bought Access to the water, they did not buy the water! and, btw, there is NO solution that i have ever learned, other than just giving in & lettting them have complete control.

i was just in the process of planting some fish attractants until i got "rudely interrupted." i have lots of pvc pipe left from a construction job. cutting it & making a long row of "tee pees". ..it's easy to cut, put together, transport & weight. ...also, lasts a long time (i hope, i hope! LOL)

yeah, we've all fished through that ice. And, even tho there were no rods & reels, we caught some WHOPPERS! (told some too!) LOL

what avid said. and, sometimes, when i'm on a spot that i know holds fish, i'll experiment w/different baits, different speeds, for future reference. also, at this time of the year, i'll fish hard for that BIG bite, but, sometimes during the day, i make take 30 minutes to an hour & catch enough crappie for my wife & i for a meal.

i've got a set of frogg toggs - love them...light, etc... but, for the real cold days, you need more.

when i lived in Tenn., there were a few stretchs of rip rap that i felt Whenever i could get to them, i could "crank" them & catch fish. certain features on long stretches (laydowns, big humps, etc.,) just seem to attract & HOLD fish. other lures certainly allow you to catch those fish, but, crankbaits just produced more effectively for me.

our state has a 10 bass limit. ..therefore, lots of guys around here ask the question, "did you get your limit?" jerkbaits, supe flukes & zoom trick worms have produced LOTS of limit culling days this year. ..i threw, & caught fish, on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc., but those three baits just consistently produced more "quantity" days than i've ever had before. i plan to fish tubes & jigs the next couple of months til they become Very Familiar to me.

have to agree with the "trap." ...fish it fast & shallow & try to find some Holes in the grass to pull it over. ..in fact, if you can see some holes, pull it across, then; throw the trap back, let the trap "die" & flutter down into the hole & then rip it out.

in the shallows of santee cooper, i try to find a semi-blocked site & throw the spinner bait (chartruese w/copper colorado blades.) ...this time of year in florida, better be careful, something might stretch your line .

ok guys, THIS is what i was looking for .... KEEP IT COMING! ...i KNOW the tube has to be a great producer, i just haven't fished it enough to be comfortable w/it. i guess it's like when i first started fishing jigs, i had NO confidence til i caught a few Good fish. ,,maybe if i can use some of the advice you guys give me & catch a few, ............ anyway,,, THANK YOU, thank you, thank you ....and, as i said before, Keep them pointers coming. now, i'm going back & re-read the posts - (you just gotta LOVE this place)

hey guys, i'm trying to "catch a few" on tubes, but am not having the success i think i should have. i can catch them w/worms, but, i'm doing something wrong w/tubes. please tell me "in detail" how you rig/fish tubes. ....you know, do you texas rig? do you leave hook exposed? what hook do you use? ,,,what about weight? what kind of rod/reel? brand of tubes? ...any & everything would be appreciated. thanks

hey, it's like rr said --- some of the BIGGEST bass of the season are caught in the winter time! so, what are we going to do this winter? Man, We're Going To FISH! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
