  2. hey everybody, just logged in (finally) & i'm here alone (well, almost, heee hee) BUT - I'm Glad the forum is back online. i know glenn is smiling, now that it finally is up & going. WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!
  3. in a situation like this, i've found that a camo colored stick of dynamite .......... ...JUST KIDDING!! finesse worms, jigs, etc., would be my first try
  4. mr ben jones, that, sir, was a Very good explanation of re-carpeting a boat. ..it gave me some hints on some small projects that i've got going. thanks for taking the time & sharing the info.
  5. i'll tell you what a t-rig resembles as soon as i figure out what the merthiolate trick worm that i'm using lately resembles ;D
  6. but guys, it was 82 degrees today!
  7. i don't want to sound "gushy" or appear to be one of those, "yeah, me too!" posters; but there is no way that i can let this thread end without adding my thanks. i am, today, a better fisherman today, than i was when i joined this forum. as alluded to in one of previous posts, bass fishermen are usually very "tight lipped" when it comes to their fishing secrets. ..at this site, however, i've found not only knowledgable fishermen, but knowledgable fishermen Willing to Share their Secrets! so, not only am i learning about types of baits, etc., i'm also learning the correct way to fish them to Catch More Fish! so, what else could you ask of a site? ...good comradrie, loads of info, and Excuses to Buy more Stuff! ...it's Great! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. Ahem! it appears we have a "p" contest at hand. fwiw, you can talk about a man's clothes, you can talk about his looks, but, you better not talk about his BOAT! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. not bad for an old man! .....just kidding! ...good job
  10. that is Tremendous news. i, also, have been in such a situation & i can rejoice with you. here's hoping that things continue to do well & that you can "Fish Like You Want To!"
  11. that's really cool - i'm happy for you! i hope that the folks at booyah realize that they've gotten a TON of advertisement out of the "freebies" that they sent you. .......just a thought, write them again & point them to this site... let them see what their gifts have done & You May Get Even More! Wheeeeeeeeeee
  12. chris, i really appreciate the time & effort that went into your post. i was in a position last week that i just "knew" that i had something like a tube, i could have caught lots more fish. i have never fished a tube more than a few minutes, then, i'd tie on something else. now, i intend to spend some time learning the magic of the TUBE. Thanks for the information (AND, for the willingness to share it - Where else could you go & find as much useful info????? nowhere that i know!)
  13. brad c, man, that stinks! ...certainly i had nothing to do with it, but i sure do feel sorry that it happened. but, hey, maybe you'll catch a good 'ol big 'un about 10 pounds to help ease the pain! hope good things come your way, bro.
  14. gotta go with the wife. ......she goes very seldom, but we have a ball when she does. ..i just love to have her in the boat with me (and, the fact that she brags on me when i catch 'em don't hurt! Wheeeeeeeee)
  15. yep, that's the way most of us do.
  16. jackplates aren't just for big boats & speed. i even have a jackplate on my small boat - not for speed, but because it lets me get into shallow areas that i could not without one. the rivers around here have been very low this year & w/o jackplate i could never have gotten into some of the places where i caught some of my biggest fish.
  17. hey ben - bro, you must have one big boat!
  18. fwiw - the further away you can stay from them, the better you'll be. ..i've seen catching opportunities completely disappear when fisherman let the wind blow him on top of school.
  19. i don't know about the garlic, but it can't smell any worse than the bottle of carolina lunker sauce that i spilled all over myself last week. Wheeeeeeeeeeee
  20. justtrying replied to a post in a topic in General Bass Fishing Forum
avid - fwiw - i've found when the dinks are schooling like this, you can fish the "Charlie Brewer Slider" & catch fish til you're tired & just want to go home. ...i mean, every cast, as long as you can stay near the school. try it - you'llll Liiikkkkkeeee IT!
  21. like a lot of the other, it "used to be" all about the competition,, about the winning. til one day i just quti. i mean cold turkey quit. for over 10 years. now, when i go fishing, i go for fun, for recreation, just because i want to. and, hey, you want to know the kicker? ...i catch more fish now than i did when it was all about winning!
  22. guys, we don't have spots (or smallmouth) here in these coastal rivers of SC. ..And, i usually don't complain about it, but, after reading that article & thinking about a SCHOOL of fish racing toward the surface to see which one could get the bait first----- Wow, that must be some site...and, some excitement!
