Any reports? What's been going on over there? Haven't been since the fall, just looking for some start up information if anyone has been having any luck anywhere on the chain. Thanks- Matt

Guide wrap
One of the spinning rods I was counting on for the weekend has a problem. The guide closest to the reel seat is coming unwrapped. One layer peeled off, and the guide itself was actually a little crooked. I moved it back, but of course now it is a little loose. So, I need a quick fix (maybe just a couple drops of super glue?) and I am also wondering if there is an inexpensive long term fix?? It is not an expensive rod (although I do love it so), and replacing it will definitely be an option. Any help is appreciated - as always!

Tourney n00b!
I would start by checking out the rules of some established clubs/trails. No need to reinvent the wheel. Most will be listed on the club or trails web site. Castawaysbassfishing.com is a small vessel club. Might be a good one to check out. Might also be a good idea to have a caveat at the end of the rules list that states something about a tournament committee making final decisions. (Then of course you need to recruit a couple guys to be on that committe.) If it's just you deciding a controversial situation, and that situation involves you or one of your buddies, you are looking at a sticky situation. :-/

Kistler Argon feedback
Thanks guys. I am going to try one - or two...

Kistler Argon feedback
So are they a good rod for the original price, or just a good $100 rod?
-
Kistler Argon feedback
These are going for a pretty good price these days. (I know, they were discontinued.) That doesn't bother me. Although the fact that they were not making them very long does beg the question, "What happened?" Can I get some reviews on them? Comparables? I'm not looking for anything specific really, just want to get one (or a few) if they are solid. Thanks for any and all opinions/help.

kistler magnesium
Are there 2 Kistler Magnesium types of rods? Kistler Magnesium and Magnesium TS? Or are they one in the same?

"guests" in clubs
My club recently adopted a rule allowing guests to fish with us. They aren't competing for prizes, and they have to throw in $20, which goes toward their membership fees if they decide to join. If they don't it goes into the classic fund. Anyone else do this? If so, how's it working? What are your specifics on how it works in your club?

Interested in bass club in Citrus County Fl.
We are 2 counties to the south. We have meetings monthly at Rapscallions in Land O' Lakes. Their food alone is worth the drive. southpascobassmasters.com

what line do you prefer
I mostly use mono and braid, with braid playing a bigger and bigger role all the time. Trying to like fluoro, have it on 2 or 3 rods, but not seeing the great benefits that I get with braid.

Shimano Stradic vs Symetre Spinning reels
I have one of each, the Symetre is a more recent purchase. I absolutely love the Symetre, it is my most used spinning reel I would say, and I see no need to buy another stradic. Actually have 3 Sahara's, and I do feel the Symetre is in a different league. I have a Pflueger Supreme I like as well, but my next spinning reel will be another Symetre to upgrade the Saharas.

Gotcha - I thought we were talkin' Revo S, and since I have one, was trying to figure out where the hid that darn magnetic system!

Any way and every way. Just get it wet.

Can't decide on new reel
??? Revo has a centrifugal braking system...

Can't decide on new reel
I have both. No qualms with the Revo S, but the Citica is smoother, lighter, and just plain sweeter! I was throwing a 1/16 ounce worm on a med heavy/fast action rod as far as I wanted to last weekend.

Fresh/Salt Water spinning reel
Let's go back and look at the original post. Looking for The 3000 Symetre holds plenty of line, and is not too big to cast with for bass all day long. Want to spend a little more, go Stradic/Sheros and you surely will be happy as well. If you are worried about the 3000 being too small , go with the 4000, but anything bigger than that and I'm thinking you have yourself an offshore reel that you will not be happy with for bass fishing. As an added note re: the Supreme, I use mine for inshore fishing as well as bass and have had no problems.
