Helix 10 Help
I recently purchased a Helix 10. After 5 minutes of use, the screen would go white. So I contacted humminbird and they told me it wasn't getting enough power, and I needed to run a power wire directly to the battery. So I purchased the biggest Interstate cranking battery i could get my hands on. Direct wired directly from the unit to the battery, with its own separate fuse panel. First tournament of the year, it worked all 8 hours. and even made it several hours fun fishing several times. Went out Sunday and the unit shut off again after 5 minutes. Boat is a 2014 skeeter tzx195. Any help would be appreciated.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
I heard the one he's holding in his right hand is a 6lber. That 11 lb tank makes that 6lber look small.

Help me decide on a flipping/pitching rod!
ALX Zolo series. I like the Zolo Dragger for flipping. But they have several rods for flipping and pitching.

Looking for Light CASTING rods
It does everything. It's gonna be a sweet swim jig and spinnerbait rod as well when the time comes.

Looking for Light CASTING rods
I'm not sure of too many casting rods with the highest rating being a 1/2 oz. I can throw a 1/8 oz shakey head on my ALX Zolo deputy and it handles it better than my Loomis IMX with a lower max weight. It's all about the blank and action.

Looking for Light CASTING rods
check out ALX rods. I prefer the Zolo series. The Zolo Deputy is a great all around rod. I had 3 IMX, currently switching over to ALX. Made in USA and blanks made in house.

Looking for a good all-around jig to use to practice and get better at jig fishing. Looking for advice?
Tough to beat a small finesse jig with a Zoom Creepy Crawler trailer. It will get more bites than the bigger jigs. Booyahs Baby Boo jig is a cheap, no frills finesse jig that I always have tied on when i need bites. It will help you get confidence in jigs.

Strike king rage bug
green pumpkin Junebug California craw I like it as a T rig flipping and pitching bait. I began to enjoy it on a C Rig as well.

How much do you trust ordering from eBay?
I've made several ebay purchases and only had one issue. Ordered a MGXtreme for $210 brand new. A regular MGX arrived. It was brand new, but had a terrible noise. Sent it to Abu go get fixed and haven't received it back yet.

Need opinions
Not to burst your bubble, but Dobyns are made in Korea. Some parts may be assembled in the USA, but blanks are Korean made.

Favorite bait for punching mats?
no-one should forget about the Cricket

Favorite bait for punching mats?
Gambler BB Cricket. Other baits can catch fish, but there is only one BB Cricket. caught fish on all colors, but Florida 5-0, bowens silver, junebug, and backatya are what stay in my boat.

Need opinions
I'm a Loomis guy. Love my IMX rods. Then I got my Deputy. Going to be selling off all my IMXs at the end of the season and switching to ALX. Today I used my Deputy for a jerkbait, light swimbait on a underspin, a shakey head, jig, and T Rig. I have specific rods for all of those techniques, but it was the Deputy I didn't want to put down.

Not sure what your budget is. But the ALX Zolo deputy is the best multi purpose rod I've ever fished with. I bought it for jigs, and I find myself using it for everything from jerkbaits, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits, tubes, jigs, Texas rigs. It does it all, and does it real well.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Finally got some open water. Grabbed my new ALX rod and a jig and headed to a local pond to try out the rod. First cast, caught a 2 lb largie. Bad news, didn't tighten my drag back up after loosening it for the winter. Major birds nest, but felt good to be out casting and catching. Anyone else get out today?
