Walker Pond
I just fished there last week. Try the lily pads at the far end from the boat ramp. There's also some sunken trees by the public beach. My partner pulled a 5#'er out from there, she was just sitting there at the tip of a branch. The area just to the right of the boat launch had a nice school of smaller fish. They were hitting one right after the other. Lotsa fun! Black & black/blue flake wacky rigged Senko's were working well There are also some great mountain bike trails in the park, if you're so inclined 8-)

Battery Charger Meltdown
Boat is an '02 Nitro. Long story short, the Crews 2611 dual-bank battery charger had a meltdown. This charger is for the dual 12v trolling motor batteries. The side of the charger that melted also has a bad battery (Interstate Mega-Force, 16 months old) with a dead cell. I had the battery checked after the charger failure. I am wondering if the faulty charger damaged the battery, or a bad battery damaged the charger? Anyone experience this?

St. Croix Premier
Remember too that the Triumph, Mojo Bass and Premier's all use the same blanks, so they are all very close, if not the same in performance. I have the Triumph 6'6" M/F spinning, Mojo 6'8" M/XF spinning and the Premier 6'6" MH/F casting rods. I have to say I am very happy with all 3 rods. I have 2 Avid casting rods on route to me now so I will be able to compare them directly to the Premier I have now

Is it Bad to Leave Rods in the Hot Summer Heat Inside a Car?
Maybe put any plastic baits in a cooler with an ice pack? Rods/Reels left in the sun on a boat deck get pretty hot, often too hot to touch the metal

Carbontex drag washers for an E7?
info@smoothdrag.com shoot them an email and ask if they make drag washers for the E7's. I would also disassemble your reel and have a look as to what's going on. Check the drag spring washers (part # 15) and make sure they're installed properly, like this, )( or like this, ()

Is it Bad to Leave Rods in the Hot Summer Heat Inside a Car?
My car gets to 140 degrees when the windows are rolled up. That kinda heat isn't doing your fishing gear any good, that's for sure!

Daiwa Zillion - Need help!
You might be able to get a direct replacement for your handle under warranty? You can order a 4 ball-bearing Daiwa handle with knobs from Daiwa. You'll need to look through the reels they offer, look through the particular schematics for that reel, then order by part number(s) You could get just about any handle, actually, depending on what you're willing to spend Another option is to ask on the classifieds. A lot guys install those pricey "enthusiast" handles and will sell their stock handles for little money Best of luck

Daiwa Zillion - Need help!
Pop the center cap off of the knob. A bent paper clip works great for this. Is there a screw? If so, remove it, then take the knob off. Flush any bearings you find and re-lube. If your handle doesn't have bearings, just grease it up and re-assemble

Shimano Callisto vs. Daiwa Procaster
We all understand that, and have read it in the several posts he has on the same subject... So then you reiterate what everyone's been saying, that the reels in question are not very good, and you recommend another so-so reel. Point is, By spending a few more bucks initially, one gets a far superior reel that will last and provide years of fishing enjoyment. That info is really doing the OP a favor, which is the whole reason, isn't it
