Amazing day on Chickahominy river
Great article! Love the Chick, been exploring for three years now. Much different than the Tennessee River that I'm used to. Like anywhere, I've had good days and bad. Tide dependent, and I have not quite figured that out. I think most would recommend hitting it on slack tide (falling), but I've not noticed a difference having caught 'em on both rising and falling... Regardless, another wonderful place in our United States!

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE - VA
My son and I had a great trip to the Smith Mountain State Park, with two solid days of winter fishing on the lake. As expected, the bite was slow but we did catch fish. Finally figured out that the big greenies wanted an ITO jerk bait, and they only ate for about a two hour window in the mid morning... Everything else we threw was not attractive to the sluggish LM. Water temp was about 45, rising to 47 by afternoon. Hunted typical winter patterns, changes in depth, humps, bluffs, and points. Found them on the leeward side of windblown points. Water gin clear and surroundings were simply breathtaking. We'll be returning to this great lake.

Relocated To Chesapeake Va!
Fellow BR Members- Been out of pocket for the past year, Navy has kept me relatively busy and my boat has been sadly inactive... Just relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia and I'm looking for any suggestions on areas to explore here in the southern part of the state. Excited to get back in the game, and now that the house is settled and my bride is happy - I CAN BEGIN PREPARING FOR SOME FISHING!!!! Any information and/or advice would sincerely be appreciated! Fellow BR members- I've been a member for about four years now, and this site is very useful for me as a military member in finding new areas & techniques as I change duty stations. Most recently I was in Memphis and was able to lock in with RoadWarrior, and the Tennessee River Chain... Now, I'm in King George VA and looking for a couple of areas for Spring fishing. Which would you choose and why? Smith Mtn, Kerr, Anna? I've fished Potomac up near Indian Head and had pretty good luck last summer but small fish... Looking for something new- Hope to see you all at this year's Road Trip! Thanks all! Appreciate in advance your time and consideration! Jeff (aka swabby)- 2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
Swabby on deck! Arrived Tuesday night, and fished this morning out of JP Coleman. Wind. Fish had lock-jaw. Only two fish and they were dinks... Better luck tomorrow, and I have a free seat if someone wants to join me! Jeff- 2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!

Well with the new job, now in Virginia, I'm trying to work a week off to attend my third consecutive BR roadtrip... Right now it looks promising but with the Navy, nothing is a lock this far out. Hope to see everyone there and I'm sure a trip back to my old waters will be a grand time! Lookin' forward to it!- Lake Anna Meet And Greet !!!!
New to the VA area, coming from TN. Fished a few times wtih Road Warrior and attended the past two road trips (KYLake/Guntersville)... I live near Fredricksburg and trying to find a good place to drop the boat in the water and fish. Any advice from fellow BR members in the area??? Going to try to make the Lake Anna meet and greet and would prefer Saturday the 22nd. Thanks! Jeff- 2012 Roadtrip! Be There!
GK, My brother John and I will not be there until Sunday, so unfortunately we'll miss the event Saturday night. Looking forward to a few days of great fishing! Jeff- Prop Question For Tracker Pro Team 190
