Getting The Cobwebs Out
That's a beautiful fish. It's going to snow here tonight and my mom has 7 inches since 0700 this morning. Our temps are 20 degrees below average. I'm about to be jealous. Good job.

Sign A "fishing Agreement"?..........
I'm telling you guys.....my policy keeps peace in my home. No overtime, no stuff. A guy I know was in the tackle store last week and was contemplating on buying a new salmon rod and reel. Both were pretty high end products. He asked me how his wife would take it for him to buy, yet another combo ? I told him, " How could you not buy it? You are paying $4.20 a gallon for gas, making a 200.00 a month payment for your North River, paying insurance on the boat, licensing the boat and trailer, equipping the boat, spending money on lunch, buying a fishing license, paying for a smoker and chips, and inviting me to go out on a trip for good healthy Christian fellow ship....That combo was cheap insurance in case his other combo broke and the whole day would be wasted. A measily $320.00 combo to assure a great trip wouldn't be ruined? How could she not admire you for making such a sound buying decision ?" His response......... You're Good Doug, really good.

Whats You Favorite "big Bass" Lure?
What's interesting is my five best smallmouth to date have all come on a deep diving crankbait. My three largest largemouth have come on a spinnerbait. When it comes to ratio of size to bites (on largemouth), the fish that hit my swimbait and or jigs are larger on the average than other baits. I truly agree with Catt. Fish where big fish live and what ever you use will be that big fish bait. Good dialogue.

Pitching/flipping/jig Rod Length?
I feel for you man. Elbow issues suck. Personal preference I think. I am a stout advocate of longer rods because they are easier to generate speed on a longer arching swing. For me, 7-3 and 7-6 and even 8-0 rods. I like 7-6 best because I transition from F & P to regular flippin alot and 7-6 does both well. I hope your rehab goes well and a new rod increases the blood flow to the effected area.

Weird Spring!
What the heck ???? My buddy in Ohio is using the bar-b-que and I had snow this morning and it's 34 degrees tonight. Our usual mild temps are just not here. I told my other buddy ( I only have two friends total ) we should have some bedding fish on our home lake about mid August. One good sign is our daffodills bloomed while it snowed.

My Nrx Broke Tonite
Lamiglas is currently using nano resin technology in production rods for steelhead and salmon models. I spoke to a pro staffer on March 3rd and he shared that models in a new bass line are a year out, maybe a bit more. A designer told me the resin is very expensive and the chemical company has made it difficult to make it affordable because rod manufactures buy in very small amounts compaired to other industries. I'm expecting premium prices.

Getting Set Up For Drop Shot Fishing
I like Yo-Zuri because of how it handles and see that advantage outweighing sensativity. But that'sjust me. What I mean about the Spin Shot is it requires a tie on at top and bottom. If you use braid and leader you now have three knots. I just like 6 or 8 Hybrid and a Palomar knot to get the hook point upright and there I go. The nature of the rig causes some line twist. I'm not fishing gin clear water. Your Berkley 100% should be good but as mentioned, Invizex get very high marks on this forum. Good luck.

Getting Set Up For Drop Shot Fishing
Welcome to the forum ! I like your reel selection. Line is personal preference. So are hooks. You can easily run braid and a leader. If that is the case, the spin-shot won't provide you with it's greatest advantage and that is not having to tie a perfect knot that sets the hook upright. I like wide gap finesse hooks for the baits I use. That's just me, I have walleye hooks and Gammi dropshot hooks but seem to go with the wide gap more often than not. I really like Yo-Zuri hybrid, even for drop shot but there are some great 100 % flouros out there. All the options you have mentioned will work for you. Experiment and you will find what works best for you.

Senko Rod: Dx 703Sf V. Bcr853 Glx V. Bcr864 Glx
I'm not the hard core Senko fan as most on the forum. Regardless, after looking at your parameters, I would consider the DX704C, just because you plan to go up to #17 test. That will get you in the rod holder. I mainly pitch 6 inch Senkos on #15 in holes in vegatation and use a Dobyns Savvy 733 Micro. My Extremes are heavy action or light spinning.

What Do You Hold Onto That You Know Is Obsolete?
My Atari Pong game. You'd think I could win a match after 31 years. Oh yeah, my rabbit ears with the tin foil on them. My old Texas Instrument calculator with the red lighted numbers that are 1/8 of an inch tall. My timimg light and points file. The list goes on forever. Anyone for a rousing game of Candyland ?

Well Here We Go In Nor Cal :-(
Chris, we are getting it cold and heavy up here. We had snow just three days ago at the beach!!! It's been cold, super windy and raining to beat the band. I am scheduled to be at Clear Lake April 10-18 and after last year's flooding....I'm a bit spooked out about what the weather will be like. Our season is once again a month late. They might spawn in August.
