The Keurig
Just bought a box of Tulley's Kona for the Keurig. My daughter got one and we have one at work. 47.777 cents a cup. I still like my Seattle's Best though.

Weirdest Thing You've Reeled In
The neighbor's cat. I was teaching a buddy to cast and had a jig tied on. Cats fight just like a summer run steelhead. They take drag and everything. It was carefully landed and the hook removed and some Sprite poured on the puncture to stop the bleeding and then released to fight another day.

Favorite bait, weather, and cover
First week of May, 68 degrees with just enough wind to break the surface. Lamiglas Excel 705 C glass crankin rod with a Winch, and #10 YoZuri and a Deep Little N for Smallies on the big C anywhere there is a current break.

The Bass pro's
The thumb on a baitcaster's spool is like a clutch in a transmission. Friction or the lack there of controls the rotation of the spool. The movement is very subtle and I doubt you would see it. It's neat you are paying such close attention. TEVO everything and watch it more than once.

fat body square bill showdown
This and Norman Fat Boy. Thanks for the info! I have some of those KVD's on my wish list for the the upcoming year. X 2 plus the Xcalibur

The Bass pro's
He was using a SK Rage Craw and wanted to shorten the bait to make it a bit more compact. The rage Chunk was too short so he bit of 1/2 inch of the longer version. The swim jig is not a football head. It's pointed and somewhat streamlined to get through vegetation. Good observations.

Anybody ever get on a shallow bite during winter?
Several years ago a friend of mine treated me to a day on the lake, February 11th. The water had been 42 degrees and it's a shallow lake over all. We had two warm days in the high fifties. There was a channel with two culverts under a road way with a slough on the other side. That slough water was super shallow and warmed and the lake lowered thus the slough water made it to the main lake channel. The water rose to 46 degrees and we caught about 30 largemouth on plastic worms fished dead sticking them. I've never forgot that day. Got them in three to six feet of water.

Revos and flipping
Either works great. I do have the STX on both my pitchin rods however.

Name a fishing technique that you absolutely LOATHE!
Swim baits for sure. I'm still going apply them but it's not my forte at all. The Senko won a Top 50 BASS event at Clear Lake and another western open BASS at Clear lake.

Now that's standing behind your product.
One of my co-workers slipped and fell on the river and broke the foot on his Revo STX. He was sick. He contacted Pure Fishing for a repair option. They told him send it in and they would see what they could do. He did so with a letter explaining what happened ( the truth ) and complimented the reel's performance. Six days later he received a new STX with an invoice for a 00.00 balance. He called because he felt it was his fault and should pay a fee. Answer: No charge. He had landed over 200 silvers and 100 steelhead on that reel. Great story.

Here's a $ saver, How about your idea.
I fish Big Bite YoMamma beaver style baits. They, like most baits tear, right down the middle. I learned you can take scissors and cut them down the middle, and use the half as a drop shot bait. Nose hook the half bait with the flat cut side up with a wide gap finesse hook and go to work. It works. Torn Brush Hogs are cut down and applied as a finesse jig trailer and so on. I'd love to read your "recycle " tips.

How many different brand plastics do you use?
I'm loyal to any company that provides what I need at a value. I have no problems buying anyone's stuff if it works and doesn't break the bank from Big Bite to Zoom. Now crankbaits are another issue.

US Reels - SX Supercaster Series
I bought one last summer new for 39.00 at the urging of my buddy who owns three. He is soon to own four. It's just okay. I much prefer the more standard diameter spool reels. I would use it for crappie fishing if I keep it.

baitcast reels
Looks like you can move up to the Lews Team model at 249.99.

What do you base your selection of new lures you never used before
There's very few lures that are new, they are just different from those already on the market. An example is the Excalibur square bill or the Rapala Thug. I might buy one or two because of a unique color or they hit a specific depth range. I will admit, couriosity has played a roll but my bank account has made me less curious these days. I will buy if i'm going to a new body of water and it has a history of a specific bait being the go to lure, i.e. Table Rock and Wiggle Warts.

baitcast reels
Interesting. Look at the mix of brands guys have. I have owned reels under 8 different brand names and only found one that was a true dissappointment and soured me on that brand. There are so many reels today that are all outstanding performers. There is no BEST, just what might be better for you. It's great to be " dialed in " with your gear but you can only decide what meets your expectations.

Big Bite Bait Co
Been using their products for about six years. Good quality, features and VALUE. You won't be dissappointed.

Revo Premier?
The 2010 Premier can fill any need except larger swimbaits due to spool size. I found I use the two I bought for thowing lighter baits long distances, like flukes, lipless baits, jerkbaits and so on. Don't get too worked up over EVA grip paddles. There is nothing wrong with the materials used in the other Revo models. Enjoy !
