  1. i was wondering if the 7'6" H vendetta would be a good choice as a flipping stick. i noticed though that on *** the mh model could handle more weight casting. My question is which is better the mh or H model and will either make a good flipping stick.
  2. i carry two at all times, but i rarely lose them since i have a ok retrieving of hung lure skills. my goto baits are deep cranks though.
  3. ya, we may even have a tourny in december. just depends on the weather up here in blacksburg.

  11. it could be, i have never used a calcutta but my dad does owna luna and i must say it is very smooth. I use his luna for pier fishing alot of times.
  12. honestly alot of my buddies that use round baitcasting reels have not said that great of things about the calcutta. alot of them prefer a diawa luna over the calcutta.
  13. id recommend looking at the shimano cardiff. its less money and i think it will handle those waits better. Its a round baitcasting reel.
  14. i cant wait to try these swimbaits out, it will be my first time throwing them for the most part.
  15. If you are looking for a spoon to catch bass i would seriously look at a fluttering spoon. I will let it sink to the bottom and then i will almost set the hook to make the lure pop 2-4 feet off the bottem, then let it rest again and do the proceder all over again.
  16. i have one of the ragos on order that i plan on using in the spring at smith mountain lake when we have our collegiate tournament there.
  17. i have never fished the new in a boat as i dont like taking my bass boat that shallow but i can give you some suggestions on baits. If you are fishing for smallmouth then id say throw a 3 inch senk or a grub type bait. If you are fishing for largemouth throw the dropshot.
  18. thank you primus for your imput on the color of the swimbait and also thankyou for backing up my point that color does in fact matter.
  19. marty if color does not matter then why does a chart color work better in stained water then a natural color does? in my book color is up there, i figure out colors based on water clarity alot of times and i think the fish do notice subtle changes.
  20. well in fall/spring you can do alot more pattern fishing so when you are doing that you know the areas where the fish should be and if they dont bite then thats not the lure they want or the color they want. In winter/Summer its more of spots that work and you already know fish are on these so called spots and if they dont bite you have to change upthe lure also.
  21. ya, J i was looking at the slow sink because i think that would cover more of the fish, but the blue herring did look good and i was considering that possible over the shad color.
  22. ok thanks guys
  23. i already know how to do most of that.
  24. Thanks Hammer, i forgot to mention that im looking for like a slow sink model swimbait.
  25. um this is true for certain occasions but alot of times color matters a bunch. I have been in many tournaments where i won due to the color i was fishing. You can believe what you want but color matters, if it didnt then there would only be one color.
