  1. Can't help you with rod pods, but seeing it is your first post, welcome to the forums! Others with experience using them will chime in....
  2. TedderX, that is why I don't fly fish. No really, I tried it and didn't like it. Prefer spinning and casting, myself. Now when you talk Tenkara, or long pole fishing, that's a different story.
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Welcome aboard, Ricky! Friendly tip, typing in ALL CAPS, is seen as yelling which I am sure you are not trying to do.
  5. Awesome trip! Congrats!
  6. Fantastic! Gosh I wish they stocked smallies down here in SE VA!!
  7. They are quite good. I use them a lot. Buy a pack, or three for $10 and fish them only for an outing and see how you do
  8. Welcome aboard! Good answers above. Avoid scams, go through vetted sources or straight from manufacturer.

    Welcome aboard!
  10. That looks awesome! I LOVE DIY yak stuff...
  11. Welcome aboard, Alejandro!
  12. Bottom line for you - or best bet is to get your hands on different reels in the store and see which ones fit your fancy. We'll tell you Shimano, Pflueger, Daiwa etc., but you'll have to be the final judge. At least you know what good experiences we've all had with reels we prefer.
  13. I can tell you I love the 1000 size Shimanos. Stradic is very tough to beat, IMO. Probably the best value in the Shimano lineup. You might be able to find a CI4+ on eBay or here in our Flea Market at the high end of your range. I don't have one, but the weight savings are excellent. I have 2 FI models and 2 FJ models.

    Beauties! Nice ladies!
  15. Welcome aboard, Lee! Again
  16. Fantastic! It is so fun when a nice bass takes you for a ride in your yak.
  17. Welcome aboard!
  18. Very nice. I always called them Striper. But folks down here like to call them both Striper and Rockfish... Nice catch!
  19. I used red hooks before...still have most of 'em... I vastly prefer the regular over red. Unless I'm in dire need of a specific hook that is only stocked in red at the moment I need it, I'll pass.
  20. Well done! Keep at it, it'll become second nature in no time
  21. Dang, that's a beaut!
  22. Welcome aboard! Can't help with your ambitions, I just fish for the love of the sport, not tourneys or $$
  23. Shorties. I cut copoly, FC, and braid with them.
  24. I have had two Boomerang snips for about 3 years, and after some time, they don't cut braid that has had its wax coating stripped after a bit of use. At least this is my experience. I still have to tighten the braid when cutting.
