  1. Somehow I think you really don't want any help It can be a fun addiction, so long as your wallet can support it!
  2. XPS fluoro - the white box version. I have about 3 spools, but really only use pure FC every so often. Most of my use (via leader) is going to be Yo-Zuri Hybrid or less often now, P-Line Floroclear. If I was more serious about FC, I'd probably try some highly-recommended Tatsu, Sniper, etc.
  3. Wow! First one AND you used a baitcaster!? Dude, welcome aboard!

Finally dropped to $1.84 near us - but only one station, all the rest are around $1.94 give or take. So nice to fill up my truck and not drop $80+ !!!
  5. Hey Trent, welcome aboard!
  6. Have to agree, inflated or deflated, it wouldn't have mattered. That was a beat down, plain and simple.
  7. Congrats on the nice bass, gents! I had no strikes yesterday at all. It was yard cleanup day, gutter cleanout day, and no fishing was had.
  8. Welcome aboard!

  10. Welcome aboard, Mitch!

  13. Oh I'm aware, alright!! My dreams beat it by at least 2 pounds.
  14. I do, indeed! Sometimes I daydream with my eyes closed - purposefully pondering fishing. Often it includes a state record... I've imagined a WR bass, but hey, I tone it down to state so as to dream a more achievable dream, LOL!!
  15. Welcome aboard!
  16. Welcome aboard! 4 ponds, eh? Sounds like there's hawg's awaitin' ya in them thar ponds!! I've fished some farm ponds, and there could be beasts in there! Good luck!
  17. IMHO, trolling motor is the way to go. I used to carry an anchor, then a drag chain, etc., but find my trolling motor is the key to managing windy conditions in my yak. I do have a 7' Stik-It Anchor Pin always with me, as well, for the shallow situations. I modeled my trolling motor setup after the BassYaks kit. Though if I had the money and were starting over I'd buy the BassYak kit outright. As it stands I had most of what I needed to make it work, thus it was a cheaper endeavor. I'm outfitted with a 30lb thrust Minn Kota and a 35 AH wheel chair AGM battery that is deep charge. Everything is awesome
  18. Welcome aboard!
  19. I'm with Snook and Lou. No superstitions. But I'm also with Blue! I remember once getting to my fishing destination with all my gear except my tackle bag. Glad my wife had to run errands, she was kind enough to drop it off.
  20. Skunk repellant? I've never found one for me. Skunk days happen from time to time no matter what. Only sure-proof thing I can think of is TNT Or an electro-fishing boat like the DNR uses to check health of a water ecosystem.
  21. Life's a beach! Have fun. We may have to deal with freezing rain down here in VA for the next 20 hours or so. Before we can go back outside with just sweatshirts. I feel your pain...no wait, wrong thread, sorry. I thought this was the Southern Winter Suffering thread. my mistake.
